NFL is turning into a panzy sport.

Absolutely, that call was atrocious. Inconsistency is the key here. Trust me, I'm a Colts fan, so I'm no stranger to things being inconsistent. These refs get worse every year, and these new rules have made it worse. I still cannot figure out what basis they make these calls and don't make them. They are all over the place. They'll make some shit call like the one on Pollard or Clay Matthews, then you see someone grab the QB's facemask and no flag. You see these defenders actually having to slow down and make sure it's a clean hit, and even when it is clean they may still throw the damn flag. What they really need to do is start holding these refs accountable for these bad calls. You want to fine a player, then you should also fine a ref when he fucks up. Like Hochuli a couple years ago in the Broncos/Chargers game, bastard should've been fined for that. Then I bet they tow the fuckin line and get these damn calls right.

Peyton Manning could begin jogging this week

Let him practice, but there's no reason for him to play in a game this season.

Update: Tressel begins new job with Colts this week

I really hope they don't plan on having Tressel replace Caldwell. As much as I want Caldwell to be shown the door, the last thing we need is a crooked coach. Bring in Fisher!

Week 6 | Colts vs Bengals

24 13 The Bengals will only score 24 if we're lucky. Our best corner (which isn't saying much) Powers will probably not play, leaving A.J. Green to dominate Lacey or any of the other undrafted players all game long. The Colts defense is built to play with a lead, really? Ok. Painter gives you a 17-point lead last week and what happens? The Colts may get one win this year at home vs the Jags, but that's it. We have the worst coach in the NFL. Never makes adjustments, no killer instinct, no time management at all, never changes up the scheme.

    Curtis Painter vs. Kerry Collins:

Stick with the Dutch Boy. Painter has led to more points in 1 and 1/4 games than Collins did with 2 and 3/4 games, plus all of Collins' points came in garbage time. Although they are both sitting ducks in the pocket, Painter can get rid of the ball quicker, which will be more important now that we have injuries to our already mediocre O-line, Collins would've broken his hip last night. The biggest issue with Painter is that he never got to practice before last week. Peyton ran the practices, then Collins got the reps this year. Painter's job in practice before this was mimicking the opposing QB so the defense could practice. Once he gets in a practice routine, the jitters will subside and his confidence will grow. Talk about a waste of $4 mil for Collins, especially when Meriwether was available at safety considering Bullitt is done and Caldwell is not cutting it, both Caldwells for that matter.

Colts place MLB Brackett on injured reserve

Well, let the Angerer era begin! 20 tackles last week and leading the NFL in tackles. Sad to see Brackett on IR, he has been solid for us over the years, but his time may be done. Bullitt is on IR now as well, same shoulder injured as last year.

    Steelers @ Colts

Well well. I know we lost but I didn't think it would be that close. I thought the Steelers were going to murder us. Great game by the Colts D. Pat Angerer with 21 tackles, 12 solo, holy shit. Drake Nevis was a steal. Great effort to stop the run, now do it every damn week please. Secondary played better, but still needs improvement. Although I gotta say, covering Mike Wallace with a linebacker? What did the coaches think would happen on that one? Just couldn't hold them on that last drive. Foster will be forever haunted by that missed sack. Build on this effort and work on getting off the field on 3rd down. O-line played their hearts out and got us some nice runs. Sure they had mistakes, but the Steelers have so many blitzing combos that you just can't stop all of them. Just gotta throw it away. Painter had just as many good plays as bad ones, which is good for him. But connect with Garcon on that wide open pass and things could've changed. Give him a full week of practice and things just may get better, depending on Collins' status. I say it's about a toss-up at this point. Painter's drive after the fumble was a great one. The only TD drives Collins has this year were in garbage time. Until Painter came in, our only TD was the Jamal Anderson fumble return. Addai once again shows why he was resigned, and by season's end I think we'll see how big of a steal Delone Carter was. There's obviously a reason why the coaches gave him the #2 slot over a 1st rounder. It sucks that we lost, but I still think the Colts played a solid game. No way did I think this game would go down to the wire like it did.

    Ndamukong Suh-Dirty or Not?

Suh dirty? I say no. Suh dirty according to the new bullshit rules? Yes, but fuck that shit. Of course the QBs are putting up huge numbers, they are so well protected by the league now it's affecting how defenses play. They have to hesitate before they hit someone and make sure it isn't an illegal hit, and it's pathetic. Just let 'em play for fuck sake, it's football! Suh is a beast and is quickly becoming the best DT in football and he plays balls-out, which is only dirty according to the pussified rules, to me that's what a football player should be doing.

What if the Colts had built a defense to give the team balance?

    Colts @ Texans

20 17 Despite the consensus everywhere, the Colts have other talented players besides Manning. Collins will have targets with Pro-Bowlers Wayne and Clark, plus young guns Garcon and Collie (who was the leading receiver in the NFL before he was injured). As long as the O-line can do their jobs, we have talented backs with Addai and rookie Delone Carter, who is a battering ram that will help convert the 3rd-and-short along with Gronkowski, who is the first true fullback that the Colts have had probably since Roosevelt Potts. The key is that Collins has only been practicing for 3 weeks and the new O-line config, so that will take time to develop. We may not win, but it should be close as Collins knows our division. The Colts defense is a toss-up as always. Secondary scares me the most. Schaub and Johnson will be the difference makers if Foster sits out. But Freeney has looked the best that he's looked in a couple seasons, so watch out. However, rookie DT Drake Nevis is questionable and I was really looking forward to seeing him play. Looks like he can give us the pressure up the middle that we have lacked for a long time.

Peyton Manning could miss 4-5 weeks

Well, now it's time to see what the rest of the team is made of, and what Caldwell is made of. I just dribbled a little. We have a pull-string doll for a coach. Zzzzzziiip, "We just need to execute." Zzzzzziiip, "We just need to execute."
