Tebow To Jacksonville A Virtual Certainty

Slow up real quick, folks involved with the Jags are now saying this is coming from the Tebow camp, not them: http://jacksonville.com/sports/football/jaguars/2012-12-23/story/jaguars-not-talking-about-tim-tebow-rumors Totally agree with the last point. The timing makes no sense. On top of that though, what is happening here is Tebow's camp is actually HURTING the Jags GM search by scaring away potential good GM's just because Tebow's camp wants to stir interest in their guy. FUCK Tebow's camp. If these assholes screw up my favorite teams' chance at finally getting a good GM/Head Coach, I'm going on an all out "Fuck Tebow" parade. I have nothing against dude, I just think he's not an NFL QB, but if this shit happens because his camp wanted to keep his NFL hopes alive, I'm pissed.

    Pats @ Jags

Chandler Jones is such a baller. I wanted Jags to trade back and draft him. Blackmon has surprisingly came on lately though, that's nice I guess. In regards to the Shorts hit. It is on Henne in the end, my first post was just that drunken reaction post. But Shorts putting his helmet down isn't really his fault, he was trying to get down and avoid getting hit, Chung still flew in there to get in a lick. Still, sucks, because now Cecil probably won't play next week and won't get 1,000 yards and be the first Jags WR to do so since Jimmy Smith, when he really earned it even though he's had shitty QBs throwing to him. And it also clouds his future because too many concussions can equal a career being threatened as with the Jags' other WR Laurent Robinson. Who likely won't play ever again after getting all those concussions this year.

    Pats @ Jags

Pats fans were shook for a minute there though, don't lie. Also... FUCK YOU if Cecil Shorts got another concussion. I will hunt every Pats' player down one by one if Shorts' career is threatened due to another concussion.

    Pats @ Jags

The reason I say 34-17, is I figure it's a blowout early, and the Pats let off a little to avoid injuries and the Jags score another 10 late in garbage time.

    How to fix the Jaguars

Fire Gene Smith, Mike Mularkey. Hire Tom Gamble, Chip Kelly. With the Jags defense, switch to a 3-4 since there's a higher amount of players fit to play the 3-4 these days. Alualu isn't a 4-3 DT, he's a 3-4 DE (what he played in college at Cal), Mosley would make a good NT, Branch played standing up mostly at Clemson and fits better as a rushing OLB ala Aldon Smith (not saying he's anywhere close to him talent wise but the same concept.) Posluszny doesn't fit the 3-4 but so what, neither does Jason Babin, but again, so what. Neither player is good enough to warrant not improving the defense overall. Obviously, sign a bunch of FA for the defense who fit the 3-4, there's no way to know who will be resigned by their old teams so speculating is pointless. 1st round, pick 2, Dion Jordan OLB. Geno Smith likely goes to KC. Add another playmaker at the OLB spot in the new 3-4. He can even cover slot WRs as shown at Oregon, added plus. Possibly the most physically talented defender in the draft. High ceiling, great bend, quick first step, long arms. Could use some refining on moves, but he's so gifted he can produce right off the bat. 2nd round, pick 34, Zac Dysert QB. With Geno, Wilson, and Glennon likely gone, Dysert is an underrated QB who's likely to soar up draft boards after the Senior Bowl. Great tools, good arm, good eye level, can throw in dirty pockets, avoid sacks and can extend plays, played with a lack of talent around him in college and still broke records. From there it's hard to know who will be available so it's useless to even speculate.

    Early Draft Watchlist

Glennon would be best on a team that likes to spread it out and play up-tempo. Basically like how the Patriots play. That's when Glennon is at his best. If I were the Bills I'd seriously consider drafting Glennon.

    Rank the 2011 QB class.

    No thanks, I'll pass.
  11. Let me clarify a bit on my last post. The only negative about Russell is his height... and that's it. The thing with Russell though, is he used to play baseball. Now I know that would be followed by a, "Yeah, and?" But baseball players learn how to change their throwing arm from different platforms while on the move. Russell excels at this. Even though he's shorter than most his OL, he can find the holes, move around, find passing lanes and release the ball however needed to get the ball to where it needs to go. Other than that, what other negative does he have really? He doesn't. He has the arm strength, he's mobile, he's a running threat, he's smart, good accuracy, smart football IQ. I'm telling you, he's BEEN the real deal. Still thought he was drafted way too low.

    Gronk'D Overrated/Underrated

Wilson reminds me of Matthew Stafford, or even Brett Favre. He's a gunslinger. You have to look past stats, and record with QB prospects. Brohm was winning, had good stats, but the eye test told you he wasn't a first round prospect. He had a noodle arm. Bad pocket presence. That's why he didn't get drafted high. Wilson has both pocket awareness and a great arm. He needs work, like all the QB prospects this year, none of these guys are can't miss like an Andrew Luck. He has accuracy concerns, and his concussions and willingness to take big hits to extend plays is a red flag. But he's a gamer, he has all the tools, and could be a big steal for somebody if he's reigned in not unlike Holmgren did with Favre.

A lot of it is do to the offense they have him running (which doesn't fit his skill set actually, he's better in a conventional, under center NFL offense.) But a big factor too is definitely because of his OL. Watch it with more scrutiny and notice how he moves from high to low on his reads. You are right though that he usually focuses on one part of the field, but he only has that much time due to his OL being trash. What I like is his ability to improv and create when things break down. That's a definite need in the NFL. However, if the Jags do in fact go with Tom Gamble at GM, and by chance reel in Chip Kelly to be Head Coach and thus move to a more spread type offense. Dysert would not be a good fit. He could work, but Glennon would be the best fit for that type of offense. Glennon struggles in under center, traditional offense though. He thrives when NC St. spreads it out, and goes hurry up. Tyler Wilson and Geno Smith can do either IMO.
  15. I love me some Russell Wilson. To the dude saying Luck "had a nice comeback" though... how about SIX comebacks? Not including a possible 7th against my Jags if not for a Cecil Shorts 80 yard shocker with 50 seconds left after Luck drove the Colts down to take the lead with a minute left. Stat wise, they've both out played Luck, even though Luck has by far more yards than both. There's no way to tell right now who'll be the best between the three, but my money is on Luck. RGIII has durability concerns. I wouldn't say Wilson won't end up being the best though. I disagree with Donovan about Russell. I don't think his potential is less than Luck and RGIII. Wilson is a stud, straight up, always has been. Being a Noles fan I absolutely hated when they played NC State because Wilson would always tear us up (not unlike most NC St. QBs for that matter, Glennon, Philip Rivers, etc.) He's just made to be a QB. When Wilson gets some real weapons in his receiving core, watch the fuck out.

    Question for Fellow Peyton Haters

I equate Peyton Manning to a guy like Rajon Rondo in the NBA. He's an excellent point man. He puts the ball in places for players to make plays. If those players are good players, his team is good, and he looks good himself. If they aren't, he looks average. Don't forget that Colts defense went nuts in their Super Bowl run too. Freeney, Bob Sanders and Mathis and company went ham once the playoffs came around. Peyton played inconsistent, and actually not that good in the majority of the games. He played well in the one game I believe, the Pats game I think. Other than that though, it was the defense and Rhodes and other guys making plays and the other team being bad or shooting themselves in the foot. Regardless, Hall of Famer. Numbers are absurd. You can't penalize a guy that bad when you have guys like Montana with Jerry Rice and Taylor etc. Bill Walsh putting the team together. Peyton's biggest strengths are his awareness, intelligence, and his vision. He sees plays better than most QBs, and puts the ball in play for them to happen. That's why he's the NFL's Rajon Rondo.

    Who goes #1?

They have no reason to be tied down to Gabbert. Their GM who picked him (in my sig), will be fired (finally), and Henne makes more money than Gabbert anyways. With the new rookie wage scale, teams can draft QBs year after year if they want, and face almost no financial problems (since most rookie contracts for high picks are fully guaranteed now, thus no future dead money.) They're moving on from Gabbert, trust me. They might keep him on the roster, but they'll actively seek a replacement. I don't think Jags pick first, KC gets the #1 pick (KC plays Indy, and the Broncos while Jax plays NE, and the Titans.) I believe KC will lose both games so even if Jags lose theirs too KC still drafts first. They'll take either Geno, Glennon or Tyler Wilson. My gut tells me the Jags will try to trade back, but if not take one of the stud defenders at #2 like Star, Werner, Jones, Jordan, etc. Then in their high 2nd round pick take one of the QBs, Dysert (Who I hope for), Glennon if he falls, possibly Barkley (but i hope to god not.) That's the way I see it playing out, but I can't say anything for sure until I see who the new GM and Head Coach will be for Jacksonville (Tom Gamble for GM, and Chip Kelly for HC please.)

I can't think of one team that one could wonder about in terms of who "tanks" on a regular basis... This is a pretty ridiculous thread all around honestly. Not hating, just saying...

    Rumored Underclassmen declaring

Gonna be interesting where Tank Carradine and Brandon Jenkins go after their injuries. Great talents, Carradine more so than Jenkins IMO (NFL wise.)

    Week 15 Pick 'Em

12-3 so far, gotta rely on the Jets now Those late games killed me, was going perfect for awhile there. Fuck ass Steelers and Lions. Pats/Niners I can excuse, had a tough time picking that one.
