    Surprise Players this year?

Good call on DRC and Spiller.

    Jags @ Dolphins

Just heard he got hurt Friday in practice. That's somewhat better news I guess. But he's still struggled.

    Jags @ Dolphins

Wow Branch is inactive. He's been a complete disappointment at this point. Gene Smiffs at it again.

    Jags @ Dolphins

Probably because Brewster and Britton are absolute trash. Brewster at least is a rookie, but still, he's backup material all day. Britton got whipped the past two weeks. Now he loses the start to a practice squad guy, In a contract year no less, he'll be out of a job next year. Maybe cling on to someone's bench, but I doubt it. He's been that bad. Dolphins defensive line is going to dominate tomorrow. But their offensive line is about as bad as Jacksonville's so there's that I guess. Too bad the Jags' defensive line is one of the worst in the league, so it may not matter. Babin should at least rack up some hits or a sack or two against the rookie Jonathan Martin, who is completely over matched this year at both LT and RT (where he started before Long got hurt.) Game will come down to turnovers in my opinion, whoever causes the most wins. I got: 19 13

    Surprise Players this year?

Some of you guys are listing rookies, the thread said specifically guys who have been in the league for awhile who are out of nowhere producing. Otherwise, I would be naming Cecil Shorts too, while not a rookie, is a 2nd year player and impressing, especially in YPC. I second Peterson, McCoy, Rivers (negatively), and Atkins. I'll add, Brian Hartline, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Josh Freeman (who fell off for a bit before this year.) All my picks but Rivers are positive surprises.

Cecil Shorts listed as probable for Week 15

Love me some Cecil Shorts. I hope for his sake he doesn't end up getting another one like Laurent.

    Jags fire GM Gene Smith

    Agreed.

    Current 2013 NFL Draft order

LOL, they're gonna get bodied in the playoffs IMO.

    Football Sharing.

I used to have the Jags embarrassing the Cowboys in Cowboy Stadium, the Texans @ Jags game that ended on the hail mary, and a classic Colts @ Jags game that ended on a 59 yard field goal by Josh Scobee. I lost them with my old hard drive however. This is a good idea though. Also I think if you convert the videos to something like an .mp4 (which is basically a video that can play on iPods, the file is much smaller but loses some quality.) Depends on what you're going for.

    Week 15 Pick 'Em

This gonna be another one of those decisive weeks. Games could go either way in lots of games.

    Gronk'D Overrated/Underrated

Swearinger and Elam from Florida are absolute beasts. With Olgetree it's more because he's still raw as a LB. He over persues way too much, takes himself out of plays. He's annoyingly inconsistent. Him and Arthur Brown are gonna go pretty high, Brown has played LB for awhile, so he has the instincts, knows what to look for and attacks it. With Olgetree you have a lot of indecision, and when he is decisive he's wrong too many times. Potential is there for sure, but he's gonna disappoint some fans if he's a 2nd round pick and he doesn't produce right away and makes too many mistakes like I he will.

    Jags fire GM Gene Smith

What pissed me off was during the coaching search last year, Bill O'Brien was reportedly targeted and interviewed and they liked him the most. The only problem was Gene was adamant about developing Blaine Gabbert and O'Brien obviously disagreed with his thoughts about Gabbert so he turned the job down. They then turned to the guy who was desperate for a job since he'd be getting fired from his other one, so he agreed to anything (you can see now even with Henne being Henne aka staggeringly inconsistent, Mularkey is giving him every chance to win the 2013 job NOW because he like most coaches don't like Gabbert.) Thing is, Mularkey might not even be here in 2013 so it's all for naught likely. Khan said that Gene picked his guy — Mularkey, then Khan had an interview with him and Gene, in which they likely acted like a teenage couple in love asking their parents about letting them borrow the car to go on the big road trip, finishing each others sentences, to which Khan probably thought, "Okay, these guys are on the same page, let's do it." Now he's seen the results, and he's a billionaire businessman, he knows a lemon when he sees it. He's moving on.

I agree with you. I think Kevin Minter can do everything Te'o can and more, and he can be had much later than Te'o. As far as another "underrated" guy: I don't even think he's underrated but he's a fucking stud and might slip out hte top 10: Chance Warmack. G, Alabama. Honestly, I feel like he should of been considered for the Heisman this year.

    Week 15 IR'ings

The worst part is he's actually better than Eben Britton (who was drafted in the 2nd round by the Jags and is now Brewsters backup, even though Brewster sucks.) Jags offensive line is horrible save for Monroe. Uche is average, Meester is done, and Cam Bradfield is trash.

    Early Draft Watchlist

Yeah, like I said, I wouldn't take him unless I were an elite team who can afford a risk like that so high in the draft. If I'm teams like the Jags, and other teams in need of a talent influx, I don't go near him. It sucks though, hell of a player. Feel bad for him.

    Gronk'D Overrated/Underrated

Underrated: Kevin Minter, ILB. LSU. Overrated: Alec Ogletree, ILB. Georgia. Underrated: D.J. Swearinger, S. South Carolina. Overrated: Landry Jones, QB. Oklahoma (only because I've seen far too many fans put him in the same ilk as Geno Smith, Glennon, Dysert, and even Barkley who I like better than Jones.) Underrated: Datone Jones, DT/DE. UCLA. Underrated: Alex Okafor, DE. Texas.

    Coach of the Year?

Still @ Jonathan Martin in your avatar. So bad.
  21. CampinWithaMissingPerson

    Gronk'D Overrated/Underrated

Yeah he screams Percy Harvin. Probably won't be as good, but still a playmaker.

    Gronk'D Overrated/Underrated

Dysert versus Roby and OSU this year. Impressive stuff. He has 5 bad throws this entire game. With a horrid offensive line, and WRs/RBs/TEs constantly dropping passes. Some of these throws, and more so, his ability to avoid sacks and extend plays were amazing. Near the end he throws 2 bad picks when the game was out of hand (one of a 4th and 2) when he had to try and make something happen. Check out the rope he lasers while on the move @ 3:00. His WR drops it, but WOW, what a throw.

    Early Draft Watchlist

Yep, Spinal Stenosis. Been saying this on other forums. I wouldn't touch him until the 4th personally. Seeing as the Jags need lots of talent, if I were the Jags GM I probably wouldn't even touch him til the 6th. Chris Samuels is the only NFL player to play 9 seasons with spinal stenosis, and again had to retire after a hit led to temporary paralysis. It's the same condition that ended Cooper Manning's (the oldest Manning brother) career before he even got to play a down at Ole Miss. Marcus McNeil of San Diego recently had to retire at 28 due to it, after signing a huge contract with the Chargers no less.

I'm in the Zac Dysert camp as far as liking him as a 2nd/3rd round guy. He's got a great feel for the game. Good eye level, keeps his eyes down field, goes through his reads quickly and efficiently. Great anticipation and sense of momentum in his reads and throws. He can surprisingly get out of sacks really well, not unlike a former Miami of Ohio QB in the league now. Senses pressure in the pocket, he can throw in crowded space, and change delivery in a clustered pocket. Which is usually the biggest problem for most college QBs to translate to the NFL (most go through college with all day to throw, come to the NFL and find out their guys aren't 2x better than the other guys anymore.) On to Barkley for a second, that is the one trait I actually like about Matt Barkley. He's decent at that. But he lacks in other key areas and I wouldn't even draft Barkley in the 2nd round. Third tops, if it were me. Agreed about his arm and deep accuracy issues along with superior supporting talent. Overrated: Robert Woods. WR from USC. Underrated: Arthur Brown. OLB from Kansas State. Underrated: Phillip Thomas. S from Fresno St. Overrated: Eric Reid. S from LSU. Underrated: Dri Archer. WR from Kent State. Underrated: Quinton Patton. WR from LA Tech.

Bob Costas and His Halftime Anti-Gun Rhetoric

Yep, I've been saying to folks off the net who have discussed this at work/bars, etc. that all people are offering are simple solutions to a very complex problem. This is mostly met with anger because it's the truth.
