  1. suprised to not see Aaron ross on the bottom end. man he cant cover if his life depended on it.

By far the player I hate the most on the Jags. Can't stand that guy, and don't understand how he's even allowed to play. The rookie Mike Harris is already 10x better than him.

Rashean Mathis one of the worst it looks, expected, ACL surgery, getting burned a lot. Good thing he's only back for this one year, still the best CB in Jags history regardless (just above Aaron Beasley IMO.) But he's over the hill now, time to move on.

  2. Why are you such a Gabbert stan? I'm Jags fan, but I know he's the worst QB in the AFC South. I think he's a good kid, and he's showing his toughness by playing with the torn labrum, but he's a huge project of a QB. He won't be good for years. Too many mechanical flaws, and has a lack of feel in the pocket. He goes through his reads way too fast because of a sped up internal clock due to the Jags' horrid O-line. So thus he usually dumps it off right away when there's bigger plays to be made.

I mean, did you see his TD pass last week in Oakland? LOL It looked like his arm punted the ball. Cecil Shorts had to turn around—wait—and field the catch like it was a punt. If someone took a picture of it while he was turning to catch the ball you would swear it was a punt return. This was before the injury too.

So you really think Hasselbeck and Luck are worse than Gabbert? That's insane.

  3. Jags/Packers (Do I really want to see this game? I don't know...)

    Falcons/Eagles

    Giants/Cowboys

I actually think it'll be closer than expected (Jags/Pack.) Especially if the Packers are missing Jordy Nelson, but if Cox doesn't play, then yeah, Jags are going to get annihilated. I just hope Gabbert doesn't die on the field with our offensive line going against the team with the most sacks in the NFL, the Packers.

I want to see how Jennings does with a start and week of preparation and reps. Also if Austen Lane continues playing well. Shorts too, those are some of our bright spots as far as player development (which is what this season will be about given the Jags not having a shot at the playoffs.)

  4. wrong. Gabbert is Starting still. Gabbert listed as probable after 3 full practices. its his Non-throwing shoulder.

Yeah, now he is, early reports were he was missing the game and possibly the season. That's when my post was made. That's like someone saying in 2007, "The Patriots are undefeated." Then after their Super Bowl loss to the Giants, someone digging up that persons comment and saying, "No their not, they lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl."

  5. Didn't realize that New England and St. Louis are in London this week. Thought the Rams were at home, so I'm changing my pick to the Patriots.

Yeah I had to remind a few people I knew who bet money on spreads, etc. They flipped out and rushed to change their pick. They viewed it as Pats @ Seattle Pt. 2 until they learned it was across the pond, and not in the Rams' dome.

  6. Who downloaded/bought GKMC? I think it's album of the year. My favorite song is Sing About Me, or Poetic Justice.

I like the first song "Sherane AKA Master Splinter's Daughter" (LOL @ name), or the "The Art of Peer Pressure." Andre 3000 is one of my favorite rappers, ATLiens stayed in my car's tape deck (yes, tape) for an entire year and never left and these two songs are the closest I've heard anyone hit the vibe Andre 3k gave me. This album is already one of the best concept albums in rap, ever IMO. If you realize it's his entire life from 17 (the first song) up to now. His mom and dad on his voicemail throughout the album are hilarious, nagging about bringing her car back, the dad getting drunk and asking where the domino's are. Such a bold album.

  7. Yeah, actually you just reminded me he had a lot of soy intake as well. His doctor pushed a heavy grain and soy diet. Their theory is that too heavy of a diet made up of grains causes hypertrophy of the pancreas, tissue degeneration, and eventually cancer of the pancreas (what Jobs had.) Soy had something to do with the thyroid gland.

Another doctor, who is a staunch vegetarian/heavy grain & starch diet enthusiast claims Jobs had the cancer for awhile due to his proximity to metals when he used to soldering circuit boards in the beginnings of Apple, or building frequency counters for HP.

    Wild stuff.

  8. Socal have you heard the theory—and I stress theory, that a high grain diet (due to his nutritionists advice) led to Steve Job's development of cancer and it supplementing it's growth until he finally was a dead man? It's an interesting theory about the dangers of high grain intake (and thus high carbs.) I mean, we don't know how much he exercised either, so like you said, a sedentary lifestyle with high carb diets is a nightmare waiting to manifest itself.

I've tried out a few different diets myself, vegetarianism, Paleo, neither worked with my body. Had lethargic (veggie) or weird (paleo, mostly joint issues) bodily changes with each. I'm an even fat, protein, carb guy. I need to even it out, though I still keep carbs the lowest. Something like 40% fat, 40% protein, 20% carbs is my wheelhouse for optimum health and how I feel.

  9. I think it has something to do with all the sudden BYE teams. I'm not sure, but there were only a couple or few BYE teams to start, then last week there were a bunch, same this week, does it pile up in the middle of the season here (Weeks 7-9 or so) then tail off to less teams as the season progresses? That's the only thing I can think of for the scheduling eight 1:00 games, and two 4:00 games.

  10. There were only two late afternoon games last week as well oochymp.

Yep, was :jags: @ :Raiders: & :Jets: @ :Patriots:

I live in Florida, and still didn't see Jags game. Even though there were only two games on, one with a Florida team, the other with two Northeast teams. God damn snowbirds.

  11. There's an astounding lack of elite LTs in the game today, anyone else notice that? It just seems like there's a lack of Offensive Tackle talent league wide. You have your select few that are really good, sure, but overall, there's so many bad LTs and RTs starting in the NFL right now. It's shocking after possibly the golden era of Tackle play in the late 90s - early 2000s. I don't think any of the best LTs in the game right now would even sniff the Pro Bowl in that era.

I mean think about it, the best LTs right now are between guys like Duane Brown, Andrew Whitworth, Eugene Monroe, Joe Thomas... really who else? I mean Jake Long has regressed if I recall, but he used to be up there too. The lack of elite LTs is shocking.

  12. TNF:

    Bucs @ Vikings

    Panthers @ Bears

    Chargers @ Browns

    Seahawks @ Lions

    Jaguars @ Packers

    Colts @ Titans

    Patriots @ Rams

    Dolphins @ Jets

    Falcons @ Eagles

    Redskins @ Steelers

    Raiders @ Chiefs

    Giants @ Cowboys

    SNF:

    Saints @ Broncos

    MNF:

    49ers @ Cardinals

    Tiebreaker: 30

  13. Even if DeCastro turned out to be great, would you really turn down the #1 pick for him? I don't think there is any guard worth the #1 including Carl Nicks of the Bucs, who is arguably the best OG in the NFL.

Agreed. OGs with good value can be had throughout the draft elsewhere as well as surprisingly some undrafted guys. Lots of diamond in the rough undrafted LBs to be had too. RBs as well. I would say those three positions, G, LB, and RB are the three least valued positions if you don't consider punters or like... kick returners. You can replace those positions pretty easily with quality guys for low money. Although, in a 3-4, LBs are more valued obviously, but I'm talking for a default 4-3 defense.

  14. Dunno about you, but I don't laugh when I see watch the Jags play. I just get sad.

I sort of went through a progression of emotions in dealing with the Jags over the years. After their fall from grace in the 90s, It was mostly anger and disappointment. Then it was realization, and inevitably sadness like you stated. Now it's like I know what's wrong with the Jaguars, so I expect what I'm seeing, so I laugh in a, "yep... that's typical" kind of way. I even have a saying for it that me and my friends repeat, "Because: Jaguars." Which basically means, this bad thing just happened because it's the Jaguars. Almost in a "we're cursed" sort of way. Like when Gabbert looked pretty good in the beginning of the Oakland game, in what looked like the best start to a game in his career and then of course he gets hurt and is out for the rest of the game: Because Jaguars.

It's not a "ha-ha! look at the Jags! They suck!" kind of laugh. Not at all. It's just I don't have false hope anymore because I know there's a multitude of problems that can't be fixed until the real problems (GM, HC, QB, DE, OLB, WR, RT, and just overall depth) are addressed. This team has tons of holes. But if you were to read jaguars.com and only listen to really positive fans, you would think we were going to go 10-6 this year or something. They send false hope that feels good at the moment, but only sets you up with bitter disappointment when reality hits you in the mouth.

  15. Nice video as always Emory.

I think Dion Jordan is going to be an absolute monster in the league. I see the same impact (and similar type player) as Jevon Kearse did early in his career before the injuries. Size, speed, bend ability, athleticism off the charts, he can cover slot WRs for goodness sake! Unreal. The only thing he needs to work on is using his hips for power, so working out his lower body more will do wonders for his game. Beast.

I like Patterson more than Hunter myself, forgot Rodgers went there too.
