If you could play for any team...

Denver. Such a clean and dignified culture within the organization. Sweet stadium and loyal, positive fanbase. Tons of Rocky Mountain trails and I'm just a huge sucker for mountains, pretty weather, top of the line ski resorts, just a great lifestyle all around down there similar to up here. There's lots of teams in areas that are way too urban / ratchet / ghetto, or the weather sucks, you play indoors, or the franchise ends up just being one of those that sucks at being an NFL franchise.
  2. Who do you want your teams to pick in the draft, Phil? Or rather... who WILL they be picking?
  3. With the 64th pick, the Seattle Seahawks select . . . Neville Gallimore. DT. Oklahoma.
  4. I wish I could witness P.E. and how he's been interacting with people lately.
  5. With the 62nd pick the Green Bay Packers select . . . Jordyn Brooks. LB. Texas Tech.
  6. With the 59th pick, the Seattle Seahawks select . . . Julian Okwara. DE. Notre Dame
  7. With the 56th pick, the Miami Dolphins select . . . Cole Kmet. TE. Notre Dame.
  8. With the 48th pick, the New York Jets select . . . Antoine Winfield II. Defensive Back. Minnesota.

    Crazy Off Season This Year

I'd like to see an announcement of everything in the NFL pushed back 4-6 weeks. Announce it at the draft. A March Super Bowl wouldn't hurt anyone. Players and coaches really need two full months to prepare for an NFL season. Brady would probably be throwing with Charles Godfrey and Mike Evans and already have a little rapport. But just having preseason games in August with nothing else and then just all systems go just like that? Players new to systems / schemes, or teams with new coaches like Dallas not getting to build any rapport before going to battle. They've officially added two minutes to each teams "on the clock" time for the NFL Draft due to video chats being the main communication medium between all GMs, war room members of each team, man... is this even gunna work? Aren't there scenarios that have happened in the past where they had to internally fight and quarrel mere seconds before a selection is made? Like when someone had to rip the Johnny Manzel draft card out of Jerry Jones' hand that one year? Are we going to see war room brawls break out on live TV?
  10. With the 45th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select . . . Clyde Edwards-Helaire. RB. LSU The perfect RB for the Bucs. In an offense with Brady, Godfrey, Evens, and OJ Howard, this guy will make this offense go. The ultimate security blanket for a QB who will need to get the ball the hell out of his hands ASAP like Broncos Pey-Pey. Not sure why Jonathan Taylor is ranked above him. Maybe the most versatile playmaker in this draft.
  11. With the 39th pick the Miami Dolphins select . . . Laviska Shenault. WR. Colorado Another one of those "why is this dude even available right now" picks with many ranking up right behind the Bama receivers over the Tee Higgins and Mims. Beast at YAC. Could be the best WR in draft classes that don't have other-wordly talent like this class has. RECAP: 1. Tua Tagovailoa QB 1. AJ Epenesa DE 1. Xavier Mckinney S 2. Laviska Shenault WR FartWaffles and ONLY FartWaffles with the Houstan Texans is on the clock. If it becomes Friday and he has not selected, it is up for grabs.
  12. With the 38th pick, the Carolina Panthers select . . . Jeff Gladney. CB. TCU
  13. With the 33rd pick, the Cincinnatti Bengals select . . . Ross Blacklock. DT. TCU
  14. With the 27th pick, the Seattle Seahawks select . . . TREVON DIGGS. CORNERBACK. ALABAMA. So hard to not take Fulton but the brother of a great athlete, former WR, more versatile, big physical like DK Metcalf like Pete and our scheme like em, and just plain nasty makes us fall in love.
  15. With the 26th pick, the Miami Dolphins :dolphins: select . . . Xavier Mckinney. Safety. Alabama
  16. With the 18th pick, the Miami Dolphins :Dolphins: select . . . AJ EPENESA. EDGE. IOWA
  17. With the 8th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Arizona select . . . Jedrick Willis. OT. Alabama. The Jags are on the clock. Picking twice in this round mind you...

    Crazy Off Season This Year

Did he really have the leverage to force them to pay that much, or did they just willingly do it? Keep in mind though the league just expanded to an 17 game season, raised the total cap allowed went up as well. So comparing this contract to any other is comparing apples to oranges. I think they should have paid him less and that its a longshot to pay off, but its still not as crazy as it looks at first glance after you digest the new changes that the new CBA launches. NFL players voted to approve a new collective bargaining agreement with the league's owners, ensuring NFL labor peace through at least 2030 and clearing the way for a 17-game regular season as early as 2021. About an hour after the vote was released, sources told ESPN that the salary cap for the 2020 season would be $198.2 million, an increase of $10 million from last season. Overall player costs, which also counts benefits and the performance-based pay pool, per club are $242.9 million.

    Crazy Off Season This Year

It's going to be interesting for sure. There's been all kinds of smoke flying all over the NFL. What we're still waiting for is to find out what the cap is gunna be and this whole CBA thing. That is the main thing that's holding everything up and I havn't really done my homework on what that falls into place but with the draft next month it must be soon.

    2020 Mock Game?

Tradtionaally we waited until the major free agents were all scooped up in the real NFL. Last year we hauled ass ASAP to get done before the NFL draft began.

    2020 Mock Game?

I'd be in and good for 4-5 teams but would anyone else care...
  22. https://www.mlb.com/news/mookie-betts-trade-red-sox-dodgers After months of speculation, Mookie Betts is heading west. The Red Sox have agreed to trade the star outfielder, as well as lefty starter David Price, to the Dodgers, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. Neither team has confirmed the news. A source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand that the Twins are the third team involved in the deal. The baseball world is processing a blockbuster trade. Betts is one of Major League Baseball’s best players; he won the 2018 American League MVP Award and has placed in the top 10 in MVP voting three other times in the span of his six-year career. Last year, Betts hit .295 with 29 homers and scored a Major League-best 135 runs for Boston. Betts is also a four-time Gold Glove Award winner who can handle any position in the outfield. According to FanGraphs’ version of WAR, Betts has been the sport’s second-most valuable player behind Mike Trout since his first full season in 2015. The Red Sox have been searching for solutions to their payroll situation throughout the winter in order to avoid paying the penalty for exceeding the competitive balance tax threshold (CBT) for a third time. The CBT threshold for the 2020 season is $208 million, and Boston’s CBT payroll figure stood at roughly $228 million, per Cot’s Baseball Contracts, as of this morning. The Red Sox would have to pay a 50% tax on the overages if they remain over the CBT threshold by Opening Day. Betts is owed $27 million this year aftersettling with the Red Sox to avoid arbitration, and he is set to lead the free-agent market next offseason. Therefore, Boston’s goals were twofold: offload salary to try and get under the CBT threshold, and recoup value for its superstar, Betts, before he potentially departed via free agency. 24. San Francisco 49ers (15-3) vs Kansas City Chiefs (14-4) When: Sunday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida | Tickets Vegas line: KC -1.5 (O/U 52.5) ESPN's Football Power Index: KC, 64.8% (by 5.0 points) -------- ---------- ---------- Here's some early advice on Super Bowl LIV: Prepare for a lot of red. TheKansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers advanced Sunday out of their respective conferences, gifting us the NFL's first Super Bowl matchup of teams that employ red as their primary color. (Let it also serve as a reminder that no fact is too minor during Super Bowl hype week.) A more meaningful fact? It's just the second Super Bowl ever between a team that led its conference in rushing yards and one that led in passing yards (Super Bowl VI was the other). The 49ers rushed for 2,305 yards, and the Chiefs gained 4,498 through the air this season. San Francisco 49ers Reason for hope: The 49ers have been in just about every type of game imaginable this season, winning blowouts and nail-biters along the way. But they've never been on the wrong end of a blowout. Even when they aren't at the top of their game, these 49ers find a way to be in it until the final seconds. With an explosive offense, suffocating defense and solid special teams, the Niners play complementary football as well as any team in the league and are unafraid of the big stage despite their relative youth.-- Nick Wagoner NFL on ESPN+ Relive the NFL's greatest games, original series and more. Watch on ESPN+ Reason for concern: There simply aren't many weaknesses on this team -- but there are a few matchups that have been exploited at times. Offenses that have the ability to attack the side of the field opposite cornerbackRichard Sherman have been a challenge at times, and teams with mobile quarterbacks have given the defense fits, too. (Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had 53 rushing yards in each of his postseason games this year.) -- Wagoner The 49ers win if ... they continue to do what they've done most of the year: control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. That allows the pass-rush to create havoc for Mahomes, and the running game -- led by Raheem Mostert -- to dictate the tempo and set up explosive pass plays for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. -- Wagoner Kansas City Chiefs Reason for hope: The Chiefs have reason to believe they'll win in every game they're quarterbacked by Mahomes. They're 27-8 with him as their starting quarterback. The eight losses are by a total of 36 points, and Mahomes as a starter has never lost a game by more than seven points. -- Adam Teicher Reason for concern: For a team with as many great offensive skill players as the Chiefs have, they struggle at times in the red zone. They scored a TD on just 54% of their trips inside the opponents' 20 during the regular season. A failure to finish drives in the Super Bowl would most likely prove costly. -- Teicher The Chiefs win if ... they rely on Mahomes to carry them. He hasn't let the Chiefs down yet. If the Chiefs play to his many strengths, they'll claim their first Lombardi trophy in 50 years. -- Teicher Stat to know Mahomes has been the Chiefs' leading rusher in both 2019 playoff games. There will be plenty of time to celebrate and project Mahomes' passing performance, but his ability to convert first downs and touchdowns via the run has made the Chiefs' offense nearly unstoppable. He is the fourth quarterback in NFL history to rush for at least 50 yards in consecutive playoff games. -- Seifert Big questions Super Bowl LIV Coverage What you need to know: • First look at 49ers-Chiefs » • Reid, Shanahan legacy game » • Full playoff bracket, more » • Super Bowl LIV coverage » More NFL coverage » Does the Chiefs' defense have one more big game in it? At this point, it's fair to assume Mahomes and this Chiefs offense are capable of spectacular things, even against the 49ers' fearsome defense. But can Steve Spagnuolo's group, which held NFL rushing leader Derrick Henryto 69 yards in the AFC Championship Game, find an answer to the 49ers' multidimensional run game? San Francisco tore apart Green Bay on the ground Sunday. If the Chiefs are to deliver Andy Reid his first Super Bowl title, they'll have to find a way to keep the 49ers from controlling the game on the ground and force Garoppolo to try to beat them with his arm. -- Dan Graziano Is the 49ers' defense good enough to stop -- or at least limit -- Mahomes? San Francisco took away Dalvin Cook and the Vikings' run game in the divisional round. It neutralized Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' passing game in the NFC Championship Game. San Francisco's defense is loaded up front with first-round picks playing at a high level. Nick Bosa might be one of the few edge rushers in the league who can run down Mahomes from behind when he scrambles. But can the Niners' front continue its smothering ways against the 2018 NFL MVP and the blistering speed of the Chiefs' offense? It will be the toughest test to date. -- Graziano X factor: Raheem Mostert It might seem odd to classify the 49ers' running back in this category after his outrageous performance in the NFC Championship Game. But the 49ers are in the Super Bowl for two reasons: their dominant defensive front and their NFC-best running game. Unless veteran tailback Tevin Coleman can return from what looked like a serious arm injury, Mostert will take the lead role in an area of the game that is critically important to the 49ers' success. -- Seifert
