    Top 10 QBs

As impressive as the rookies were this season, I would not put any of them in the top-10 in the league. It is simply way too early in their careers. I can see them in the top-20 at best. 1) Rodgers 2) Brady 3) P. Manning 4) Brees 5) Roethlisberger 6) E. Manning 7) Ryan 8) Schaub 9) Flacco 10) Romo As for the Rookies: 13) RG3 14) Wilson 17) Luck

I said it in another thread about a week ago, when this news was first "leaked".

Next Gen Console News & Updates

I have a buddy back on the east coast who is willing to build me a monster of a PC for less than $600. He claims that what he can build will shame even some of the high-end gaming PC's on the market. I have seen his PC for myself and have known the guy since we were 10, so I fully trust him. I am pretty sure that I will take him up on the offer. Also, as I said before, I think that these "leaks" are intentional for the companies to guage fan reaction to these ideas. Much like Sony's "boomerang" controller that was 'leaked' before the PS3 was released.

Next Gen Console News & Updates

This may be the one thing that ultimately forces me into PC gaming, or in the extreme, give up gaming altogether. I cannot imagine what this will end up doing to stores like Gamestop, who seem to rely on used game sales as much as new.

    Offensive Rookie of the Year

I honestly did not realize that he had that many comebacks. In that case, I would likely place him right next to Luck, if not a very tiny bit ahead of him since he took better care of the football.

    The good news thread

I had my second interview with Five Guys burgers yesterday. They confirmed that they are looking to possibly bring me in and fast track me into a General Manager position. We didn't really discuss what my potential salary will be, but he did say that it is not an hourly wage. For the first 150 hours (the time it takes before I can be certified as a GM) I will be working 58 hours a week and making between $12-13/hr. That would lead me to believe that the salary is in the $40K range, which is certainly not bad for a start. However, there are also two other applicants that they are looking at for the same position, so I may not even get the job. But I know that I can dominate the position with my work ethic and desire to be the best.

    Got an Interview

Be honest with them, without blowing smoke up their asses. Maybe come into the interview with a couple of website mock-ups? Make sure you do something that makes them remember you above all other applicants.

    Offensive Rookie of the Year

Yes. Luck got the jump (only slightly) over Wilson because of the comebacks. Two or three inches is a pretty big difference in height, especially in sports. As for the teams, coming into the season, the Colts were easily one of the worst teams in the league, the Redskins were not all that much better and the Seahawks were certainly the best of the three.

    Offensive Rookie of the Year

Here is how I see the way it ended up: 1) Robert Griffin III was immediately effective and his impact on the Redskins offense was instantly visible (306 yds passing in his NFL debut). He was easily as deadly in the pocket with his pinpoint accuracy as he was when flushed from the pocket. Besides, his QB ROOKIE rating of 102 and TD:INT ratio was damn near legendary at 5:1, along with his 66% completions. 2) Andrew Luck did much more with much, much less talent around him. He also threw the ball a fuck-ton more than either Griffin III or Wilson, so his numbers were inflated a bit. He also didn't take care of the football nearly as well as the other two QB's. The 7 game-winning drives certainly didn't hurt him at all. 3) Russell Wilson had a fantastic season, but wasn't all that effective until the Seahawks tranistioned into a 'pitsol' offense just like the Redskins had been running all season. At the same time, he was only really at his best when moving outside of the pocket. If teams had been able to contain him within the pocket, he would have been less effective due to his lack of ideal height.

Jag to unveil new logo Tuesday

If they made the logo look like Voltron, I would instantly become a part-time Jaguars fan.

    Offensive Rookie of the Year

I have no doubt that had the playoffs been a factor, Wilson would have clearly been the winner. But based on everything combined in the regular season, it was hard to argue against RGIII.
  12. Truth. Unfortunately, the Bible, while inspired by the voice of God, has human fingerprints all over it from top to bottom. There were many books left out, ones that the church felt did more harm than good to their views of Christ. Even since then, there are two versions of the Bible; the Christian Bible and the Catholic Bible. Which one is correct? What about the 40 or so books that were excluded? In all honesty, the only "Holy Books" that are uncorrupted are the Torah and the Qu'Ran, which are still in their original languages and are never (as far as I know) recited in any tongue but hte original (Hebrew and Arabic, respectively).

What was the last movie you watched?

I actually finished Trouble With The Curve. Pretty solid flick, nothing spectacular, but not too bad.

    The good news thread

Sadly, the military didn't work out like I had hoped. But I do believe that it was for the better in the long run. Still no word on when exactly my second interview is going to be. I had hoped they would have called me yesterday, but they didn't. I am guessing it will be today. Side note: I always found it humorous that Five Guys were consistently voted "Best Value" in the burger category. I have a hard time calling an $11 meal a 'value', even one as good as Five Guys.

    The good news thread

Applied for a regular hourly bottom-rung job at Five Guys burgers last week. Went to an interview on Friday, got called this morning to come back for a second interview for a possible management spot in the restuarant.
  16. Fair point. But if the teams don't want to have their "representatives" say anything that could make the organization look bad, they shouldn't allow the players to speak to the media at all. Until that day comes (it won't) they are going to have to deal with guys saying stupid shit.
  17. I think that Reid in KC will have the most success, he has a young roster that is only two years removed from a playoff berth.
  18. As ignorant as his statement was, he is allowed to have an opinion on gays just like the rest of America. My best friend of 30 years is gay, but never once has his homosexuality had a negative effect on our friendship. Just like with straight men don't find every single woman with breats and a vag attractive, gay men don't find every single man with a penis attractive.
  19. I try to keep my politics out of my religion and my religion out of my politics. I am a Mormon and should be as pissed as the rest of my church that Mitt Romney wasn't elected president. However, Romney was nowhere near the strong candidate by the end of the election process as he seemed at the start, so even if I were registered to vote here in Washington state, I would not have voted for him.

    Last TV Show You Watched?

House of Cards. Watched the first two episodes last night. I am not completely sold yet. I guess it bothers me that Spacey's character constantly talks to the camera, it takes the "realism" out of the show and kills the flow.
  21. I personally think that morals are based as much on societal rules as they are in religion. How else do you explain why someone who has never heard of "god" knows that it is wrong to steal and/or kill? I am a Christian and I do beleive that all people should follow the word of God, however, I also believe that we are all children of God and have been given the ability to choose whether or not to follow him/her/it. I have always, even in my atheist days abided by a "live and let live" philosophy. Just because something is right for me does not mean that it is right for everyone. I believe that the Mormon church is the one true church of Jesus Christ. That does not mean that I hate all other beliefs, even though I feel they are wrong. I also believe that shaving my head is the right move for me and looks good. That does not mean that everyone should shave their head. ( FTR: Shaving my head is a personal, NOT religious choice)

Black former NFL coaches say Rooney rule is broken

I thought the rule was broken the second in was implemented. This comment on the article: Pure. Fucking. Win.
  23. While I don't think that this would make a difference in gun violence, at the very least it should cause gun owners to think twice about how they handle their weapons: (this may be better posted in the P&R section) http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2013/01/31/170700177/should-gun-owners-have-to-buy-liability-insurance thoughts? Super Bowl Monday as a national holiday

This idea has been around for an eternity, hasn't it? The odds of it getting passed is microscopic, but worth the shot, I guess.
