  1. You can't pass up the Kickoff game. Even if it is the Packers and we aren't supposed to vote for our respective teams, it's one of the best game all season. Kicks off a glorious 5 months and it's between 2 good teams. Steelers and Ravens is a great matchup as well but you get to watch that 2 times a year. You don't see the past 2 Superbowl champs go head to head to kick off the season very often.

You sound like a used car salesman.

Seriously, the spin you just put on the Kickoff Game is comical. Just because it's the very first game of the season doesn't mean it's going to be good. Hell, the Kickoff Game hasn't exactly been memorable in several years. Secondly, it's between the past two Super Bowl champions? Who cares? It really doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. And besides, the last image I have of the Saints isn't them being SB champs two years ago, it's them being hate fucked by Marshawn Lynch, and losing to the 7-9 Seahawks in the first round of the playoffs. Also, I really don't care that the Steelers and Ravens meet up twice a year. It's a fucking awesome rivalry, and beats some rare Packers-Saints matchup any day.

  2. Pompei points to the fact that the Pats released 2008 third-round pick Kevin O’Connell after just one season when he "didn’t take much from (Tom) Brady."

lol, I'd say it was mainly because he was flat out terrible in preseason play.

  3. I'd put every A's player on the block with the exception of Gio Gonzalez, Jemile Weeks, Scott Sizemore, Fautino De Los Santos, Chris Carter, and Tyson Ross.

If the A's could at least flip Willingham, Crisp, DeJesus, Jackson, Matsui, Suzuki, a couple of bullpen arms, and a couple of SPs (McCarthy and Harden) for prospects then that would be fucking fantastic. In addition, the A's aren't likely to trade Cahill, but if they get a sick package for him, I'd love to see him dealt.

  4. Quite frankly, I don't care. Boo hoo. Back in the day when we were kids and we used this word, we used it in the context of a jackass, not a gay man. Honestly, I don't care at all. Then again, feelings shouldn't matter nearly as much as they do in our world. Heaven forbid we spend more time worrying about REAL problems than pissing and moaning about how people "feel" about something. I have nothing against homosexuals. Nothing at all, but they're the main group that seems to get bent out of shape over words these days. I hate DeSean Jackson, but I could give less of a shit over him using this word.

Everybody in America needs to grow a fucking pair.

^ This. Seriously, who gives a shit. People need to stop whining over this crap every chance they get. I understand getting upset if your gay and someone calls you a faggot or your black and someone calls you a nigger but seriously people need to stop getting so bent out of shape every time someone utters the word fag or nigga, especially when the context in which they were spoken isn't in a way that was meant to bash gays or blacks (or any other race/word combination).

I get that it wasn't appropriate to say but the guy asked a strange question about his penis, so yeah he calls him a fag. Plenty of people do that but would never say it for no reason to a guy they knew to be gay because that's just rude, and this to be honest isn't news worthy. If this was some random guy in Alabama or a kid at school calling someone a fag no one would give a shit but because he plays football people want to get up in arms about it. Give me a fucking break. I used to call people fags all the time when they did something that upset me but that doesn't mean I dislike gay people.

OMG DESEAN JACKSON JUST OFFENDED THE GAY COMMUNITY BY SAYING HOMO AND FAGGOT. THE NFL IS GOING TO LOSE ALL OF THEIR HOMOSEXUAL VIEWERS (stevo). THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!

I mean comeon people, sure maybe he shouldn't of said it because of his position but it's on an anything goes program. It's pretty sad that everyone cares what this douche says on some unknown radio station. Although if this guy's name wasn't DeSean Jackson nobody would give a flying fuck absolutely no one.

I'm this close to losing all hope in the human race.

    And repped.

  5. You guys say that he has no chance of getting in the hall but think about it, he is 11th in all-time yards with 40,441 and from 1995-2010 only Favre and Manning have had more yards and completions.

I'm not saying he will get in but it's not like he won't be in the conversation.

Those stats don't mean much, really. Did you ever watch him play... outside of him playing for the Titans?

Since I'm in Giants territory, I watched him play quite a bit while he was in his prime in the early 2000s, and still then, he wasn't that great of a QB. He wasn't a bad QB at all, but he sure as hell wasn't some world beater... and he was MILES from being in the same league as Favre and Manning.

Not even close to being in the conversation.

  6. Regardless of the non-impressive stats (34 tackles, 1 sack, 2 FF) and little recognition he got, he was a pretty solid contributor for the Pats last season. He was decent at both stopping the run, and pressuring QBs. I definitely expect him to improve a lot, and end up recording around 55-60 tackles, 7-9 sacks, and 4-5 forced fumbles in this upcoming season.

  7. Taking a break from collecting cards, and now focused on collecting game worn jerseys. Here are a couple that I have...

    007-7-1.jpg

Justin Thomas 70's Night throwback GU jersey worn against the A's on 6/26/10, and a Ronny Cedeno Jackie Robinson Day GU autographed jersey worn against the Reds on 4/16/10

  8. New England backfield is already crowded with passing-down specialist Danny Woodhead, "keep the lead" back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, short-yardage bull Stevan Ridley, and all-purpose back Shane Vereen.

So yeah... Ricky Williams isn't exactly a feasible option.

Unless one of the RBs goes down with an injury, the Pats have no need to bring in another RB.

  9. My issue is still with Orton. I haven't watched many of his games so maybe Razor or another broncos fan can fill me in. Why so low? His measurables were pretty damn solid this season and he's gotten better nearly every season in the league, so why does he get put in the bottom half of these lists fairly consistently?

He puts up most of his stats when the game is already out of reach... at least according to a Broncos fan at another forum that I post at.

Here's an excerpt from the post that he made:

The QB rating doesn't tell the story of our team being 17th in scoring coming into this week, 27th on 3rd downs, our awful red zone offense and McDaniels padding his stats by garbage time plays (He has every pass attempt but one this season).
