GPA does matter in medical professions though. For pre-med, your GPA will get you into med school. And for me and nursing I need to get a good GPA to get placement in upper division.

I have a pair of columbia shoes for everyday, they're like a $80 shoe I got for 20. For working out, the team supplies me with plenty of nikes to wear so I wear those. Same with cleats.

I'm not gunna lie, I'm smart as a mother fucker, but I don't try. My first year in high school I did nothin and got like a 2.7 ha. But my senior year I decided to throw a lil effort at it and I got a 4.0 by my senior year. Ended with a 3.3 average I think. Now in college I have like a 3.2, but lookin for that 4.0 this semester because I live in the library.

ha but we have rivers all around this town, we float all summer. It may not be right through campus but it's only a few minutes away. We kind of have our own bar, I live on campus but it's not technically on campus because I don't have to pay MSU for my apartment, and I live right next to a sports bar.

agreed, but it will be necessary though as file sizes continue to increase as things get more complex. I think my first digital camera was a 3 MegaPixel point and shoot, the 512 mb chip could hold a thousand pictures or so, seemed crazy then. Now point and shoots are easily 10 megapixels and need 16 gig chips to shoot a lot of pics. My dad's SLR is I think is 18 megapixels. Each picture takes up around 10 megabytes of space on my computer.

Just saw this picture on the internet today and it really put shit into perspective I mean damn just in the last ten yearsish technology has come so damn far. Imagine what it will be like in another ten years. I have a 1 Tera-byte portable hard drive that cost me $100 this last summer, 6 years ago I bought one of the first portable hard drives which was 250 gigs, it cost me more than $300. Remember when flash drives used to be ridiculously expensive? Now you can get a two gig flash drive for practically nothing.

I was seriously about to post a picture of Kevin Bacon as soon as I saw those pics haha right now we are only lifting twice a week as we are doing spring ball, our lifts are super light. Things will pick up hard again in June. May everyone goes home and lifts so I go hard but I know a lot of my teammates slack

I'm going with baseball, like you said, if you have a dominating pitcher then you can pretty much dominate the game. But, with so many games played and rotating pitchers you're going to need a few good ones. Basketball was a close second, with the cavs being the main example. Football is by far the most team sport in the world. You can have a team full of superstars and still not be shit if everyone doesn't click. My senior year of high school my team by far had the most talented team in the state, my roommate who played for a school that hated mine even admits it. We won a lot of games, but if we didn't click we got our asses kicked, case in point the state championship game we got our shit rocked because we weren't playing like a team.

oh lawrd this is hilarious

So we just started up spring ball and I'm facing some shitty realities from both school and football that might cause me to hang up the pads for good. With football for starters, so my o-line coach put out a line to try and recruit 6 new o-lineman that he liked what he saw in, expecting to pick up at least a few of them. Well they all signed to his surprise and this is going along with the two other new transfers that just got here for springball. Well the rumor floating around is that 3 o-lineman are getting cut after springball to make way for the new guys. Well I know one of them is a freshman who pretty much can't do anything right. Well if springball ended right now I know I'd be one of the other ones. Despite the fact that I've been improving at a ridiculous pace from when I came in a shitty freshman two years ago. I have the second strongest power clean on the o-line and one of the fastest 40 times on the team despite last year being last in both of those categories. But I'm still behind the older guys on the team as far as skill goes. So unless I straight ball out this springball, this might be the last time I strap it up, and even if I do ball it still could be my ass hittin the bench. Just one shitty reality that has started to hit me. The other is school, now I'm a nursing major and at that I'm the first football player nurse this college has ever had. Hell, I'm the first to even try it and damn it's a lot of work being one of the hardest majors on campus. And I've managed to have a 3.2 GPA. Now after next year I'll be doing upper division for nursing and my school has the least amount of spots open in the state, 15. Most people go two hours away to Billings where there is 40 slots open. Well I knew this going in, but the head of the nursing dept. recruited me to the program with the notion that I would get priority placement because I have a reason I need to stay in Bozeman because to get into Bozeman you have a to have a 3.8 usually. Well I found out today that they just put in a new placement policy that would do away with priority placement. So in a sense I might be fucked, I'm going to petition to be grandfathered into the old rule but this might be the end of football as well if I have to move away. It's shitty because I work my ass off competing against my teammates for positions, but then I also have to work my ass off to compete against other nurses who have nothing better to do than study. I don't have that kind of time. So ya, this is me venting. If anyone has any advice for me it's definitely welcome.

So basically right now I'm going all out, because who knows if this might be the last time I suit up. I'm playing like I've never played before. I've never fought on the field before, this last Saturday was the first day of pads and I got in one big fists flying fight and a bunch of other fights. I'm playing with nothing to lose and I love it.
