Well because the NCAA is a bunch of nazis that only make it so they are the only ones allowed to make money off the athletes name. Ya they made me take down my website and ruled me ineligible until it's down because they say it's an athlete promoting a business. Even if that business is my own. Dumbest shit I've ever heard. So they said I'm allowed to put up a new site if I don't use my name, so I could use a company name. And I can't have my picture on there at all. So I have no fucking clue where to go from here. Anyone got an idea for a photography business name?

I talked with a photographer friend of mine today, he pointed out that if I do use studio64, that it makes people think I'm a portrait photographer. And I do some of that, but it's far from my main business. I don't want to make it too much about landscape though because I take a lot of football esque shots of the stadium and helmets and such.... so ya, I'm stuck. They told me if I hadn't already sold some prints that I might be able to keep it up until I get a new one, but because I sold some it needed to come down. Because it had only been open for a few days my fan base wasn't exactly irreplaceable. Although I do have a facebook fan page with like 40 fans, so I will be telling them via facebook. I emailed our head lady and she hasn't emailed me back on whether or not I can keep the fan page running, but I don't think it should be a problem because i haven't and don't plan to sell prints from there.

^my feelings as well. I wish I could get it without the dash though...but studio64.com is already taken by the dumbest website ever. All it is is one picture that says "Have a great day" really? Wasting a perfectly good domain name

I had a thought today.... Studio64, it would have to be Studio-64.com, (64 is my number for those who don't know). I like how short it is, I hated how long andyaustinphotography.com looked when you had to write it out. Studio 64 would be really easy for people to remember

The only problem is I'm not much of a portrait shooter, my favorite thing to shoot is stars at night and I was trying to think of a way maybe to incorporate that. I've always known that the NCAA didn't allow people to promote a business, which makes sense because then some booster could pay a star player a shit ton of money to be on their commercial. I also could see if I was running around going "buy prints from me! I play football at MSU!" but I'm not, I want people to buy a print because they like it. It's just dumb that I can't even mention my name anywhere.

I just discovered gridironphotography.com is actually available. Which might be kinda cool. But most of my photos are actually going to be travel based landscape photography kinda stuff. Any ideas?

Thanks man, that's one of my dad's favorite rides... right behind his 55 Chevy Bel air (which I hope to get out and shoot soon. Not at the moment, living in Montana kinda restricts my city options. The only building one I really have is of this Old Farm House. But I know that's not really what you're looking for. Every sale goes towards the purchase of new equipment, my current goal is to sell 18 8x10s to get a fisheye lens. I hear ya, right now it's impossible because of football season...but it is a definite possibility for the off season. That's how a lot of landscape photographers make their money, because there isn't much money in landscape photography.

I used a theme for Wordpress that I customized. I simply don't have the time to design and code the whole thing myself. Plus it wouldn't be as good as using a pro theme. I got it from elegantthemes.com, you pay like $30 a year and have unlimited access to hundreds of themes, plus they give you tons of support. We're currently ranked #1 in the nation in the FCS and this weekend we play our hated rivals the University of Montana.who re currently ranked #7. We have already clinched a share of the conference, with a win this weekend we win it outright, a loss would mean we'd be sharing it with UM. ha don't worry about it bro, you have no idea how big this ish is out here until you experience it. Most other colleges have pro sports teams too, or other big schools. In Montana it's us and them (and some NAIA schools but nobody gives a shit about them). All year round people live and breathe this game. The shit talking that revolves around this game is ridiculous. We've played against teams like: Texas A&M, Michigan State, Utah, Washington State, ect....and I have yet to hear a louder crowd than here in Montana.

Ya NDSU is a powerhouse for sure, but the team in your town (Minot State) is a joke haha. Our QB is legit but we've been choosing to destroy people with our running game. We have a local guy- Cody Kirk, who is the hardest working man in the game of football. Our other running back is big Tray Robinson, who is a transfer from Nebraska...he started his true freshman year at Nebraska and the only reason we got him is he played with our QB at Euless Trinity where they won a Texas state championship. Pfft, can't wait for the playoffs to show those East Coasters how real men play football in the real cold Player or student? So today I got my long anticipated letter from the college of nursing about my upper division enrollment. My advisor told me with the 3.3 that I have I should have no problem getting placement, well she lied. I didn't even get in and I'm fucking pissed. This isn't the first time these sons of bitches lied to me, when I first came here they told me I would have priority placement so that I could stay here in Bozeman so I could play football. Well this year they decided to take that away and tell me they got rid of that program. So in other words, my future plans for life just vanished. And I don't even know what to do, nursing was my only plan for life. Now what? I can't just change majors without appealing to the NCAA, the make us declare our majors after our second year. So I'm declared as a major I can't be a part of. I'm honestly about to say fuck it I'm going to be a photography major. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated because right now I'm stuck in the fucking twilight zone. FUCK YOU MSU NURSING DEPARTMENT. /rant

I really appreciate all of the great advice guys, Thursday I'm meeting with a different advisor to outline all of my options (she is just an advisor to the college rather than the nursing dept) and then I'll be meeting with my Academic Athletic Advisor, then finally I'll meet with my Nursing dept Advisor.
