    Motion Photography

The camera I've been shooting with all semester is a six year old Canon EOS 30D. But this weekend my dad was in town for the game and is letting me borrow his Canon Rebel T2i for a few weeks. That will be the camera I'll inherit hopefully soon once he upgrades to the 5D
  2. I'll tell ya some of the weirdest things I've ever eaten, In Costa Rica I ate a handful of live bugs that tasted just like peanut butter, they were delicious In Africa I ate Mopani Worms ( about the size and look like a large caterpillar, taste was good but it was hard to get past the texture), Zebra(terrible), Oryx (one of my favorites, a lot like beef), Ostrich ( I wish they had it in the states, it tastes almost exactly like beef but it's not as bad for you.), warthog (extra delicious, a tender combo of pork and beef), Crocodile (really does taste like chicken).
  3. Man my eating puts you guys to shame, you guys are talking about my regular meals here. My usual pizza order is a large for myself. I used to have trouble eating a full pound cheeseburger but now those plus fries will fill me 90% up. Biggest steak I've eaten was 38 oz, with fries, potatoes, salad, soup, bread, and of course desert. When cooking for myself I usually make two sirloins. This right here is probably top ten biggest meal though;

    Low and High Key Photography

Originally posted this in the lounge but nobody seemed to notice it haha, so I figured it better belonged here here's my first assignment of my photography class, low and high key photographs. Basically low key means that the image is made up of mostly darkness. High key is the opposite and involves a lot of white (often you see this with pro photographers. Well unless anyone opposes, I'll be posting a new topic for each assignment First the Low Key Now some High Key first my ugly mug now my favorites

    Low and High Key Photography

thanks man, in reality you don't need some $5,000 camera to take shots like this....my camera isn't that nice, it's 6 years old and way behind as far as cameras go now. In it's day it was a $1,500 camera. But you can get one that is 20x better for around $500 right now.

    My summer photography

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around to much, football is in full swing and it consumes my life. But thought I would share some of my shots from before fall camp I took, these first ones almost all of them were taken on one backpacking trip for a roundtrip total of 16 miles. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ^I climbed to the peak of that after already climbing 6 miles to get to the lake. I later fell off of the saddle :/ 10 11 12 ^just for the hell of it 13 14 15 and this last one is actually one I took last summer, but I threw it in lightroom and it turned out pretty sick (click it to get the full effect) 16 Let me know which are your favorites, also advice always welcome. I'm a self taught photographer I'll post some more shots in the next few days

    My summer photography

Good stuff man, that's my out my back door. I'm only maybe 45 minutes to an hour from the park. And thanks for all the love guys, I'm in a photography class this semester so I can finally get some formal training. Always felt like my composition is great but need to work on all the functions of my camera. Here's my first assignment, a "high-key" photograph, meaning that white dominates the picture. Almost overexposing the shot:

I'm not sure if this is a problem for anyone else, but I can't seem to multi-quote anymore. The button just doesn't work when I press it. Used to work all the time for me.

    Should college athletes be paid????

You've said a lot of ignorant things in the past, but this is BY FAR the most ignorant thing you've ever posted. You are flat fucking wrong. Yes a few slip through the cracks and are dumb, but for the most there are more intelligent people than there are idiots. College is hard, the dumb ones last a year or two (which I've seen), but by time they are seniors a good majority that are left are actually quite intelligent. Now back on topic, this is coming from a D1 football player who is not currently on scholarship. Athletes should not get paid, it's way to slippery of a slope. It really does suck that the university can make a shit ton of money off a player and we don't see a dime other than scholarships. And we work our asses off, more than any fan will ever understand. Right now it's fall camp and I spend from 7am until 10pm with maybe an hour or two off in the day at some point. We live in the meeting rooms and locker rooms. High school was a cake walk compared to what we go through, I've had to see the team doctor three times in the last three days for three separate injuries to which I'll be taping them all up and hitting the field tomorrow. Now you get to the season, it's crazy. It's not uncommon for me to leave my apartment at 5:30 in the morning and not come back until 7pm then head right back to the library for a few three-four hours of studying. Now a scholarship is actually a great deal, for those who have them. Not only do you get school and books paid for. You get 5 meals a week in the cafeteria, and then you get $800 a month to cover expenses such as food and rent. Which my rent only costs $400ish a month, that leaves me $400 a month for food which I often spend $50 for groceries for two weeks. Now that would be if I was on scholly. So here's my suggestion, get rid of the scholarship caps, they are dumb. We all work just as hard on the team, now if a player slacks off or isn't performing you should be able to take it away until they get their act together. But for a guy like me who devotes probably 30 hours a week or more to football, and get nothing in return. I should get something. But I love football, I love everything about the game. That's why I play it, not for the money. Guys that are just playing football for money don't last long at all, I've seen it. It's too much work to have only money for a reason to play.

    Duct Tape Game

Just thought of an idea for a game, supposedly there are endless uses for duct tape so lets name them off. Rules are simple, say the use number then the use, whether practical or not. One use per post, and try to refrain from using google... I'll start: Use #1: Waterproof bandaid

    Long exposure waterfall photography

Lately I've been taking a lot of pictures at some of the places near where I live, which happens to be a lot of waterfall shots. Well today I took my new tripod out and experimented with new techniques for me. That is, long exposure shots. Here are a few of the results, here are few of my other favorite shots so far this summer just curious as to what you guys think

    Long exposure waterfall photography

Currently all my camera equipment is all hand-me-downs from my dad who upgraded last summer. This camera is probably 4-5 years old. It's a Canon eos 30D, I have a couple different lenses currently, the one I shoot most with is Canon 28-135mm with an image stabilizer. The image stabilizer on this is the reason it's my favorite lens, not too big of a fan of the range though, not quite good enough for far away, but not wide enough for close up shots. The other lens I have in my possession is a 300 mm telephoto, no image stabilization makes it tough to use on the fly but it can get mega close up. When I went to Africa last summer I took two lenses, one ten year old wide angle amazing lens, and my telephoto, the wide angle lens broke in the first few days and I was stuck shooting the trip with a telephoto. I got amazing wildlife shots, but people shots were shitty because I couldn't shoot anything too close up. I'm going home this weekend to raid my dad's old lens collection, I know of a $2,400 lens he has that he doesn't use that I'm probably going to poach.
