    Official 2013-2014 Soccer Season

Manchester City beat the crap out of Arsenal today and made the battle for the first position more interesting. Liverpool has a tough match against Tottenham on White Hart Lane tomorrow and if we win the game, we'll trail Arsenal by just two points.

    Top 10 Defensemen and Goalies

I have more free time now so I decided to make top 10 lists for every position. Started it all with top 10 d-men in the league. This was the hardest list for me to make, because I had to extract so many great players. So here we go: Just missed the cut: Alexander Edler, Vancouver Canucks #10 Kevin Shattenkirk, St Louis Blues Shattenkirk and Pietrangelo make one of the best defensive duos in the league, but this guy is also a great individual defender. At first I had him as the guy who missed the cut but his 2013 season was a top 10 one, imo. Look for this guy to develop into an even better d-man next season. #9 Drew Doughty, Los Angeles Kings This guy is an elite two-way defenseman. He's one of the younger defenders on this list but he has an IQ of a veteran player. That's mostly seen on offense where he creates a lot of chances for his forwards. Like Shattenkirk, Doughty has time for improvement and I expect him to be a much bigger offensive threat. #8 Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Phoenix Coyotes He is the future. Keith Yandle might be a bigger offensive threat than him but you can definitely see this guy is talented and a difference maker. He's very skilled and has an amazing skating ability plus his puck control is admirable. He's still young and not as strong as others on this list but he uses his great body technique to make up for that. #7 Duncan Keith, Chicago Blackhawks I kinda feel like he doesn't get much attention, not nearly as much as his teammates Kane or Toews. He's one of the main reasons Blackhawks are in SCF. Hawks have faced some great offensive teams in the playoffs and in my opinion, if Keith wasn't there, SCF would be just a dream for them (one game suspension aside). He might not have the flashy offensive number like Letang or Subban but he makes up for that with great plays on defense. #6 Ryan Suter, Minnesota Wild Preds have a top 5 defenseman in Shea Weber but having two top 10 defensemen is even better so it's understandable why Preds were mad when Suter left. He uses his speed well to create space and is very useful on power plays (maybe the best PP d-man in the league). He's explosive, has a great ability of shutting down his opponents and skates well. What more could you ask from him? #5 Alex Pietrangelo, St Louis Blues Another d-man from St Louis on the list. Definitely the most underrated d-man in the league. I didn't even hesitate putting him over guys like Doughty or Keith. He does it all. He uses his skating ability to be an effective two-way threat. He's definitely improved on offense. He's big (not Chara big,but big enough) and is not afraid to stand in front of the shooters as he's collected the crazy number of 101 blocked shots in regular season. #4 Shea Weber, Nashville Predators Weber is a monster. When I watch Preds games it seems like he's ready to skate all 60 minutes. He takes every single second on the ice seriously and isn't afraid of hitting hard. By blocking 90 shots this season he certainly became Pekka Rinne's best friend. He is useful on the offensive end,too but not as much as the guy above him. #3 Kris Letang, Pittsburgh Penguins Letang is slowly taking Erik Karlsson's title of the best offensive d-man in the league. He's a smart player on offense and knows how to create goal scoring chances for Crosby and the company. I've always seen people saying he's not that good on defense but that's actually not true, this guy is very good on the blue line and uses his speed to stop the opponents and quickly make the counterattacks. He might have the biggest impact on our team (maybe even more than Crosby, but that's debatable) as Pens had many problems when he was on IR. #2 Erik Karlsson, Ottawa Senators When healthy, Karlsson is the best all-around defenseman in the league and nobody can deny that. Even though he's played in only 17 games this season, I couldn't rank him lower because his impact on the Sens is visible. He makes everyone on his team better when he's on the ice. He's a dominant offensive weapon and his puck control is very impressive. He tops Chara in offensive categories and is definitely a bigger threat in front of opposing goalies but he's not as tough on defense as Chara. #1 Zdeno Chara, Boston Bruins Remember when I said Shea Weber is a monster? Well, this guy brings the word monster to another level. He had "only" 101 hits in regular season but that's due to a fact that players avoid skating his way. It's hard to skate past a 6'9'' tough motherfucker with an amazing skating ability for that height. There aren't many things he can do on the same offense with Bergeron, Seguin and Jagr but he's skillful and has great vision and always looks to do something in front of opponent's net. Feel free to comment and so.

    2013 TGP CFB Pick'em

The same thing we did last year. I'll explain it again cause maybe some of those newbies want to participate. Whoever wants to join this should just post his picks and I'll count him as a participant. First games are on August 29th. Anyway,I'll post 10 games every week and the only thing you have to do is to pick the game-winning teams and order them using confidence points(10-most confident,1-least confident). For example: #1 Alabama vs #2 Ohio State #3 Oregon vs #4 Stanford So I'll pick Bama and Stanford and put it like this: 10 Alabama 9 Stanford At the end of the week,I'll count the number of points you collected by picking the correct game-winning teams. Week 1 games: Tulsa at Bowling Green Rutgers at Fresno State Florida Atlantic at Miami (FL) Syracuse vs Penn State Purdue at Cincinnati Louisiana Tech at North Carolina State BYU at Virginia Washington State at Auburn #5 Georgia at #8 Clemson #12 LSU vs #20 TCU 10 Miami (FL) 9 LSU 8 Penn State 7 Auburn 6 BYU 5 NC State 4 Cincinnati 3 Rutgers 2 Tulsa 1 Georgia

Is Demaryius Thomas a top receiver?

I was low on DT last season. I have him in the top tier of receivers (Megatron is in the godlike tier). I think I would have a hard time making a top 10 list.

Your Suarez sig is awesome,Mav. This should be a great night in Champions League. Can't wait for Real Madrid vs Juventus.
  23. Browns shouldn't trade him but honestly I don't care, with Gordon out of AFCN, Ike Taylor will have an easy job against Browns.
