    How good is Eli Manning?

ELITE Quarterbacks don't go 9-7... Simply amazing that people leave Peyton Manning out of this discussion... Utterly mind boggling... Eli has 2 good SB Runs, and now he's a Top 5 QB? You guys are drinking the Cool-Aide

    How good is Eli Manning?

Also, its amazing to me how quickly people forget how great Peyton Manning is... Think about this... With Peyton Manning, the Colts have won 10 games for what? 10 years in a row? Without him, with the Exact Same Roster in place, they are the Worst team in Football? Peyton should win MVP Every Single year... This year proved how great he truly is...

    How good is Eli Manning?

@bware - "the Giants were the best team this year" ? Really? Were you saying this when they were 7-7? You know the Giants had the worst rushing Offense this year right? Funny how getting hot for the last few weeks changes people's mind about things... Tom Coughin was about to be fired midseason... Do you remember that lol... I wouldn't even put this Giants team in the Top 10 of NFL Teams this Season... They simply got hot at the right time. Also, I agree with you on the rest of your post... We're all too quick to crown ONE Player as "ELITE" despite the fact that its a TEAM Game... Without the rest of this team, playing like they Played, Eli wouldn't have sniffed his 2nd Super Bowl... Its not all him...

    How good is Eli Manning?

Was anyone saying Eli was Top 5 when the Giants were 7-7? Yeah, he is clutch, I'll give him that... I don't consider him ELITE despite having 2 Super Bowls... I may be wrong... What do I know lol... I would still take Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, Brees over Eli

Report: Browns not sold on RGIII at No. 4

Browns coaching staff refused to run more Shotgun for Colt McCoy... They refused to change their style of Offense to "fit" the type of QB they had in McCoy... I don't see them adjusting to make the Offense "fit" around RG3... If they take RG3 and don't make any significant improvements to this Offense, I don't see how its going to be any better than what they have with McCoy... Btw, McCoy did it for 4 Years at Texas, not just 1 like RG3 at Baylor... If you've read my other posts, you already know where I stand on this... I say Keep Colt, give him some legit Weapons to work with (Blackmon, Bowe, DJax)<<--(not all 3 of course) and a full Off-Season program to actually learn the Offense... Then talk to me this time next year if you think Colt still isn't the guy... I think if you give him those two things 1) playmakers and 2) full Off-Season to learn, you will be pleasantly surprised by McCoy...
  7. Agreed Grossi was an ass most of the time... But to "re-assign" a person because he gave his opinion on something, when thats what you pay him to do, doesn't really make much sense... Also, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, like all major Newspapers, always try to push their own agenda around election time and they try to influence or sway votes any way they can... So, for them to stand up on their soap box and remove Grossi from his position (which he had held for nearly 30 years) because of one comment made about the Browns owner (comment was dead on btw) is pretty hypocritical in my opinion...

Browns CAN WIN with Colt McCoy

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm a big McCoy fan... I think with a few weapons around him and an actual PLAN on Offense, I honestly think he can succeed, and hoist that Lombardy Trophy for us, like Eli did for the GMen last night... I can name so many QB's that have overcome shortcomings early in their Careers, and have went on to play fantastic... Alex Smith? - perfect example of what happens when you stick with a guy, instead of just giving up on him and starting over... Doug Flutie? - short like McCoy, but had heart... Eli Manning? - nearly ran out of NYC 3 or 4 times in his Career... Now look at him... Drew Brees? - I've already posted my thoughts / comparison between McCoy and Brees... Don't get me wrong, I agree with allot of you that right now, Colt doesn't "look" good, but, do you really think he has no chance? Are you really ready to just give up on a guy after barely 16 games and no Off-Season to properly prepare / learn? Do you really think RG3 will do better with the Same Cast of nothingness around him? Anyone remember Tim Couch? Do you remember how he got ran out of town too early? Why do we love to run QBs out of town? Do you remember what Couch did for us in his tenure? Couch was done so dirty here, despite a clear track record of Improvement: Couch went: 2-14 / 3-13 / 7-9 /9-7 (playoffs)... And then he was ran out of town because some "flash in the pan" QB Kelly Holcomb threw for allot of yards in a playoff LOSS to the Steelers... After that, Holcomb was everyone's favorite player, and people forgot and failed to acknowledge the improvements that Couch had made... smh... Sorry, got on a little rant there lol... I mean look at all the "good" quarterbacks in the league... What do they all have in common? They all have good players / coaches / system around them... Its not just them (unless your the Colts)... It takes an entire team to win, not just a QB... Look what happen to Philip Rivers without his #1 Target Antonio Gates fully healthy... He struggled... I'm sure there are other examples out there, but I don't feel like digging at the moment lol... Also, if you look at the Browns this past Season, they lost 6 games by 6 points or less (3 with Wallace at QB) so its not like they were getting blown out in many games... A few plays here and there and those games go the other way... For god Sakes Greg Little single-handedly dropped 6 passes in one game, where the Browns lost by 3 points... That happened all Season long, and is in no way Colt McCoy's fault... I could go on and on, but I'll stop for now Again, thanks for the kind words. I'll be on here allot posting my thoughts!!! Go Browns!!!

Browns CAN WIN with Colt McCoy

@badgers - I agree 100% with the Shurmur comment... I knew the plays that were coming from my couch, so, I'm pretty sure the opposing Defense and Defensive Coordinator knew what was coming as well. I think the main point of my post was that he just needs more time, and its extremely unfair to label or judge him after 1 Season with so many things not going in his favor. I for one, am a believer that the QB gets too much praise when things go well, and too much Blame when things go bad... Colt definitely was not THE reason the Browns struggled last Season. And I'm not making excuses, just stating facts - 28th ranked Rush Offense... - 32nd in Rush Touchdowns... - 30th ranked Rush Defense... - 1st in the league in Dropped Passes... I don't want to make it sound like I think Colt McCoy can be as good as Drew Brees, I just used Brees as an example, because he is of similar stature (small) and struggled early in his career... Yet, San Diego stuck with him through the hard times (except for the shoulder surgery) and look at what he has become now... Main point... Give Colt a legit chance to succeed... Give this Organization the "Face" that we have so desperately needed for the last 12 Years...

Browns CAN WIN with Colt McCoy

I'm tired of people bashing Colt McCoy. I honestly believe that the Cleveland Browns can win with McCoy if they put the proper pieces in place... Like any QB in the League, they need to be surrounded by good players to succeed... Lets take a look at all the things that McCoy had to overcome since last Season, where he started the final few games of the Seaason... 1) New Head Coach and O/C 2) New system to go along with that new HC and OC 3) Shortened Off-Season due to lockout 4) No training camp to learn the new system 5) Drama all Season with Peyton Hillis 6) A WR core that led the NFL in Dropped Passes, didn't have a legit Deep threat, and didn't have a guy that could consistently get open... 7) One of the worst RG and RT To say that this can't simply CAN NOT play is ridiculous... If you look at the way he played, despite all of these obstacles, I think its clear that this kid can play... He reminds me of Drew Brees, when Brees was in San Diego early in his career. The Charger kept flipping between him and Doug Flutie until finally they gave Brees the job. In his 1st Season as a starter, Brees had eerily similar numbers as McCoy's this past Season... Yet, the Chargers stuck with him. Brees: 2002 - 16 GP - 320/526 - 60% - 3,284 yards - 17 TD - 16 int - 76.9 QB Rating 2003 - 11 GP - 205/356 - 57% - 2,108 yards - 11 TD - 15 int - 67.5 QB Rating McCOy: 2011 - 13 GP - 265/463 - 57% - 2,733 yards - 14 TD - 11 int - 74.6 QB Rating After 2 Seasons like above, in Cleveland, all the Browns fans and Media would have been calling for Brees' head, much like they are for McCoy right now... But, Brees is a perfect example of what can happen when you put good players around someone, and give them a chance to really learn and understand a system... Look at Brees' next 2 Seasons... 2004 - 15 GP - 262/400 - 65% - 3,159 yards - 27 TD - 7 int - 104.8 QB Rating 2005 - 16 GP - 323/500 - 64% - 3,576 yards - 24 TD - 15 int - 89.2 QB Rating Its clear that Colt McCoy has the "IT" Factor. The kid is a pure leader. He has Heart and determination... I wont argue that his arm isn't the strongest, but neither is Brees' or other great QB's of the past... To only give this kid 1 Season to prove himself, with basically NOTHING around him is completely UNFAIR... I say with the two 1st round picks, the Browns need to address the WR need, and the RT need... Adding some pieces on the Offensive side of the Ball in FA would be nice too... My main point is, I DO NOT want this RG3 kid... He may be talented but I don't think we need him because I honestly feel like Colt McCoy can take us where we need to go... We just need to build a complete team, rather than chaging Quarterbacks and Coaches every 2 years... What do you guys think?
