  1. Because of a couple negs, lol?

Naw I honestly have to move on back full time to the Colts forums and I am not one to start a thread on it either. I have too many pms from friends there and other stuff. And the season is kicking off soon. I get pretty invested in them during the NFL season and this forum is too general for me.

I need that extra time back for my Colts friends who I have been chatting with for several years.

But, good luck y'all and it's been real.

    Jules......out.

  2. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/syria/10265765/Navy-ready-to-launch-first-strike-on-Syria.html

Britain is planning to join forces with America and launch military action against Syria within days in response to the gas attack believed to have been carried out by President Bashar al-Assad’s forces against his own people.

Royal Navy vessels are being readied to take part in a possible series of cruise missile strikes, alongside the United States, as military commanders finalise a list of potential targets.

Government sources said talks between the Prime Minister and international leaders, including Barack Obama, would continue, but that any military action that was agreed could begin within the next week.

Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told "Fox News Sunday" that he thinks the president will respond soon with military action.

However, he suggested waiting until Congress returns next week to seek its authorization and that the United States respond “in a surgical way.”

  3. Good post Jules. I definitely don't expect everyone to climb on board the bandwagon. I just wanted to give my thoughts and see if anyone could show if I was way off base. So far it seems that my thoughts on why the Chargers could do better are fairly reasonable. Doesn't guarantee anything but it's a reason for SD to have some optimism this year.

And the Chiefs are actually the old sexy dark horse pick. Analysts jock them as a "sleeper" every year. I don't buy it.

Look on the plus side. You are the Eagles home opener. We'll see if the streak is broken or not by your very own Chargers. :grinno:

Syria's Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said at a TV interview that the American pressure will not help, and warned that attacking Syria will have dangerous consequences. "A mass of flames will ignite the Middle East," said al-Zoubi, and added that attack on its country will not aid in any way.

Regarding the use of chemical weapons, the minister said that "the use of the Syrian opposition's of chemical weapons shows their incompetence and confusion." According to him, the regime has proof that the rebels made use of chemical weapons. (Roi Kais)

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/aug/24/syria-cameron-obama-intervention

David Cameron and Barack Obama moved the west closer to military intervention in Syria on Saturday as they agreed that last week's alleged chemical weapon attacks by the Assad regime had taken the crisis into a new phase that merited a "serious response".

In a phone call that lasted 40 minutes, the two leaders are understood to have concluded that the regime of Bashar al-Assad was almost certainly responsible for the assault that is believed to have killed as many as 1,400 people in Damascus in the middle of last week. Cameron was speaking from his holiday in Cornwall.

The prime minister and US president said time was running out for Assad to allow UN weapons inspectors into the areas where the attack took place. Government sources said the two leaders agreed that all options should be kept open, both to end the suffering of the Syrian people and to make clear that the west could not stand by as chemical weapons were used on innocent civilians.

  5. ^Don't worry about it. Was just being silly. ;)

I am very excited for this coming season and am looking forward to watching the Colts continue to develop. I really enjoy following these guys from Irsay/Grigson/Pagano to the players. And I sincerely hope Pagano stays healthy and the players continue to play hard for him every week.

    :)

  6. Not sure the Colts count but I don't see a ton picking them for the playoffs outside of Colts fans.

So I go Colts. I picked them last offseason too.

No, No. You won't get me into the Browns right now. Nope.... :yep: Been down that road before with them. And I think the division is just too tough overall.

I confirm both these previous statements by me.

    :yep:

  7. Every team has questions and "ifs." I'm merely pointing out the important ones for the Chargers. That's the nature of preseason.

The pass rush was decent in 2012 and has looked good in preseason. The offense has been balanced so far in preseason and that's all we have to go on. Judging this group based on what they did under Norv Turner is pointless. The OL is indeed a concern. But the run blocking has looked strong and the protection figures to make a modest gains now that Mike Harris and Jeromey Clary aren't the tackles. The secondary has new starters at CB1, CB2, nickel, and SS. It would be premature for me to crown them as excellent now, and by that some token it's premature to say they're lousy. They've been good in preseason. And I realize that doesn't necessarily mean good things for the real deal- but it's literally all we have to go on for these new starters.

And what I'm saying is that even with some issues, they were good enough to win 7 games despite losing 5 close ones and 5 that we led at the half. Combine some coaching/personnel gains and consider that it would be statistically normal for us to come out of more close games on top this year and a 2-3 game improvement seems logically optimistic to me.

The way people talk about the Chargers, you'd think we went 4-12 last year and lost all our best players in the offseason.

I think a problem is also that the Broncos are in your division and the Chiefs are the new sexy dark horse pick as well.

People think the Chargers have too much of a hill to climb in the division.

Fair or not I think that is how many see it at the moment until proven otherwise. And it might actually be a good thing to be so doubted. The Chargers have often fell on their faces in recent years when so many have picked them to do well.

I personally believe SD can "potentially" make some noise just because somewhere deep down in there.....there is still a good QB in Rivers. And Norv is gone, finally. I would not bet on it, but I don't think it's impossible for them to win more games then expected.

It remains to be seen with the Chiefs if they are going to live up to the new hype. The Raiders are a mess sadly. And frankly even though Manning and the Broncos should glide through the regular season ...stranger things have happened and they may have some cracks not everyone acknowledges either.

  8. http://news.sky.com/story/1132649/syria-us-moves-warship-as-strike-calls-grow

US defence officials said an additional warship has been moved into the Mediterranean Sea as calls for military action against the Syrian regime grow following an alleged chemical attack.

Well nothing has happened. Yet. Maybe nothing will. Or maybe it will. But, something to keep an eye on certainly.

  9. Looking forward to tomorrows Colts/Browns in a way... Dwayne Allen has been practicing but they are going to hold him out. Fleener will be held out too.

So both starting TEs out, should be interesting to see what we have for depth there.

Laron Landry is going to make his Colts debut.

A new RG for the Colts will be tried out I hear.

And for those who want to see Bradshaw, sounds like he is a no go until the season starts.
