Let's put this to bed. Give me Andrew Luck.

Generally, QBs play better if they aren't sacked. Also, that does not detract from the fact that Luck endured a lot of sacks (top 3 sacked QBs) last season. It is easy to put things together and project he will do better if his OL does better. Part of the job is to handle the obstacles in front of you. However, if the obstacles placed in front of you happens to be a bottom 3 ranked OL, paired with an OC/IHC whose offense was predicated on a penchant for long-developing down field passes, I think Luck did very well with what was placed in front of him.

How many games do the Colts win in 2013?

Had them 8-8 last season. Not making the same mistake twice. I think they will win at least 11.

Let's put this to bed. Give me Andrew Luck.

Jules, I think the mid season regression you saw from Luck may have something to do with the additive factor of being sacked often (total for season 41 times) and being hit more often. I think if you keep him clean, he will not regress.

Colts LaVon Brazilll suspended 4 games

No. Adderall, HGH, are PEDs, not substance abuse. Substance abuse is alcohol, meth, heroin, marijuana.

    Colts season tix holders

I've seen them too. Those that wear Bronco 18 jerseys at a Colts game, when they aren't playing the Broncos. sad...

    Colts season tix holders

About one year ago, the Colts had about 3000 unsold season tickets, due to fan backlash for releasing Peyton Manning. Of course, over time, the Colts sold out season tickets last season. I wonder how many fans lost their favorite seats due to holding out.

    Titans shred entire playbook

The entire playbook was so broken such that the entire playbook required shredding? Sounds like razing and not a simple renovation.

    Titans shred entire playbook

Hmm, sounds like someone is getting desperate.

    Update: Colts, Bradshaw negotiating contract

I also like the signing. If he is healthy enough to play, he will contribute.

Colts won’t re-sign Dwight Freeney, Austin Collie

Problem with that is that Freeney doesn't consider himself a min guy. Apparently he convinced the Chargers of that too.

Hardest position to play in the NFL besides QB?

If the C has protection call responsibilities, I would say C, otherwise, CB.

    Richard Sherman

Revis coming back from injury is somewhat of an unknown quantity. Sherman vs. what Revis was pre-injury, I would say Revis. Sherman vs. Revis now....don't know.

Which Young QB Would You Build A Team With?

Andrew Luck would be my choice with no close second. He has already demonstrated what he can do in leading a team to the playoffs, even if that team is lacking in proven talent comparatively speaking.

    Update: Colts, Bradshaw negotiating contract

Can't agree more. It's always a question of supply and demand. Right now, there isn't much demand.

    Jamarcus Russell: Comeback?

In my estimation, the probability of Jawalrus getting on a NFL roster this upcoming season is slightly higher than that of Tim Tebow doing the same.

Colts offense next year under Hamilton

Luck succeeded in the Stanford offense installed by Harbaugh/Roman/Shaw/Hamilton. I expect the Colts to use some of that power run to set up the pass game in the Hamilton Colts offense. I expect Luck to do better this year than in Arian's Colts offense.

    Hasselbeck impressed with Luck?

Haha Jules. I agree. I don't ever want to see Painter play again. Painter is currently the #3 QB on the Raven's depth chart behind #1 Joe Flacco and #2 Tyrod Taylor. Ex-Colt HC Jim Caldwell is the current Raven's QB coach. Let's see if he survives Training Camp. He may lose out to a UDFA.

    NFL's Top 10 QB's Under 25

The other reasons were that they carried many injured and non-producing older former pro-bowl players which have since been shed before the 2012 season...Brackett; Bullitt; Clark; Addai; Eldridge; and Manning. Doing this gifted the new GM Grigson with a nice present of a $38MM dead cap space to swallow. With a severely limited cap, given the large dead cap space, the Colts hired lower talent and rookies to the team. It is a mistake to think that the 2012 Colts team had the same level of talent the 2011 Colts team had sans QB. Going into the 2012 season, many pundits ranked the Colts as the 32nd best team in the league.

Didn't he get arrested for DUI...purple drank?

Dwight Freeney: Owners made agreement to deflate FA market

Freeney doesn't want to understand the reasons why he was signed late and for less than expected money: He did not produce in 2012. He played 14/16 games. He had a total of 12 (10 solo, 2 asst)tackles. He had only 5 sacks. He did not live up to the Colts' expectation of the highest paid player on the team at a cap hit of $16.9MM in the last year of his contract.

    NFL's Top 10 QB's Under 25

I think you hit on an important point. Which QB had to do the most with the least? To me, that QB is Luck. The 2012 Colts had the bottom rated OL, a mediocre to poor running attack, a poor defense, and with the exception of Wayne, had rookies for receivers, TEs, and RBs. There was a reason why the Colts had the #1 overall draft pick....they were the worst team in 2011.

    No surprise.

Andrew Luck and his knee brace

Several people (not on this forum) have asked if Andrew Luck wears a knee brace to protect an old injury or prevent one. I am posting this as a pre-emptive answer to the yet unasked question. I can only provide the following pieces of evidence: 1) Jim Harbaugh (previous Stanford HC, who coached Luck) comment on the 49ers QBs wearing knee braces: (from Inside the 49ers) link 2) Picture of 5 Stanford QBs in practice, all with knee braces on their plant leg. link

    Jamarcus Russell: Comeback?

And the story would be that much better if he succeeds with the Jets.
  25. Luck, and it won't be close.
