    Cherry's 2018 Draft Stream (TOMORROW)

Thank you everyone who tuned in and kept it popping during the stream. I know it's been a little quiet here at TGP during this draft but I appreciate you all so much. I'll make sure next year is better than anything before it.

OSU, O'Neill has tremendous athleticism but I think he'll need a couple years. Former tight end who isn't nuanced with hand usage and can't find numbers. Anchor is huge issue. He gets walked back by the bull rush. I'm very curious how he holds up if they try to start him early.

    Cherry's 2018 Draft Stream (TOMORROW)

I'm going to do my damnedest to avoid getting overly excited/disappointed by any Rams selection so I can stay neutral. Will make sure to give positives and negatives to all prospects instead of being overly critical.

  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnRzdLD-L48 www.whatsondraftst.com ^Das website This thread is going to be much less formal and consistent in comparison to the last thread. I'm implementing a new system, in which I will be doing spreadsheets/PDFs rather than text files. Because of that, I'm going to be focusing much more on answering questions that you guys have and presenting some variety with the type of the content I have. Right now, I'm just working on preliminary reports on some of the top guys in this upcoming class, but none of my work is going to be finalized due to the fact it's 2016 tape and not 2017 tape. I'm excited to spend my summer working on these spreadsheets, though, and hopefully it will give some insight into my process. To recap, I'll give a brief run down on my grading scale. 9.0 - 10 Hall of Fame Caliber This is a prospect that has serious upside, and is incredibly polished coming into the NFL. These are rare, and they will be even more rare under the new grading system. The expectations I have for these guys are simple. If they perform to their abilities, I believe they will receive a gold jacket one day. 8.0 - 8.9 Perennial All-Pro I believe a player of this caliber should be a three-time all-pro player at minimum. Some of the guys higher on this scale may receive more, but the minimum here is the three I expect. That's the qualifying mark. 7.0 - 7.9 Perennial Pro Bowler A player of this caliber should be at least a three time pro bowler at bare minimum, and some of them may push for more than that. The top of this group should be in contention to receive all-pro recognition. 6.0 - 6.9 Potential Pro Bowler While this doesn't have any strict guidelines as to what a player needs to reach this category, I believe it's a player who has pro bowler upside, but should have at least three seasons as a very good starter. Three seasons of good production would put you in this box. 5.0 - 5.9 Consistent NFL starter A player under this category should have at least three seasons as a starter at the NFL level. These don't have to be consecutive, but someone is this category should see significant playing time. They may never reach a pro bowl, but they should be considered low to mid-tier starting caliber talents. 4.0 - 4.9 Potential NFL starter These players are potential starters that may never see much of the field due to a lack of talent. The expectations to fall into this category are simple. You have three seasons as a backup, and you're in this category. The rate of turnover behind starters is high, so when someone maintains backup status, they've earned this grade. 3.0 - 3.9 Potential Backup This is where we start to get to some of the lesser talents. These are guys that have the upside to develop into backups, but need a lot of refinement. The expectation is that you are a depth player for at least three seasons. This does not mean practice squad, though. Three seasons at the bottom of the 53-man roster qualifies you for this grade. 2.0 - 2.9 Potential Depth Player Now we're falling down hard here. The expectation for these guys is three years bouncing around the league, whether it be as a depth player or a practice squad guy. My expectation is to see you still on a roster within three years of coming out of college, although you will certainly be the bottom of the barrel. Remember Uzoma Nwachukwu from the Houston season of Hard Knocks? That's the career path model. 1.0 - 1.9 Potential Practice Squad We break from the rule of three here, and this just becomes a question of whether or not you can sneak onto a practice squad. There's no guarantee of it, and most of these guys will wash out. These players should make a camp roster, but most will be replaced with a fresh batch next year. 0.0 - 0.9 Shouldn't make an NFL roster These are the guys that shouldn't have a shot to make a roster. They lack almost everything you want out of prospects, and have no translatable skills to the NFL game.
