  1. Thank you. I would never use quotes by NFL coaches and teammates as an attempt to bolster my own argument. What do you expect them to say, "oh he was terrible, such a bum". Unless it's Titus Young, we're not gonna hear people say stuff like "something was off about that guy..."
  2. Guys, I want to apologize for creating this thread. I take responsibility for allowing this to happen. I'll accept any suspension handed down, no matter how unreasonable it may seem

Check here: http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/passing/sort/netPassingYardsPerGame Cowboys still exceeded all expectations for me when they won in Seattle. I didnt even give them a shot, much less thought they would dominate offensively. Like I said earlier, their offense aced that test. But their defense didnt exactly have to prove much. Ball control offense is nice in theory, but at some point in time, you have to have actual talent on defense, which is one area where the Cowboys are severely depleted, and I think it catches up to them at some point

Hey I picked them to win it all before the season started, I can't give up just yet. But their defense is horrible this season. They don't seem to lose at home though and the majority of their games going forward are at home, so I give them a chance

    Andrew Luck vs. Russell Wilson

As of right now, Wilson. But going forward, it's unquestionably Luck

    Questions and Answers

I'm just being honest here bro. You do know that Seattle has the 31st ranked pass offense in the league as of right now? Also, Dallas' defense ranks last in the league in terms of yards allowed per play. The defense isn't "all better now!", it's still one of the most talentless units in the league that looks much better than it actually is because it's being kept off the field. If they can keep winning like this then fine, but I think it catches up to them. In terms of tests, they passed the test offensively against the Seahawks with flying colors, but they didn't prove very much defensively. That was my bad, I worded that wrong, so I changed the original post to say that they haven't faced a legitimate offense all season. Seriously though, which formidable offenses have they played? Tennessee, St. Louis, the struggling Saints, the Texans, the Seahawks, etc. I've been saying it all season, I was never worried about the Cowboys offense at all, it's their defense that still concerns me Believe me, I would love to see the Cowboys beat out the Eagles for the division. I just don't think it happens. And if there's one thing that will hold them back, it will be mistakes, because their mistakes were the main reason Seattle was in that game to begin with, and we all know who their quarterback is. Do you guys really trust Murray to not only stay fully healthy over an entire season, but also to continue running the ball at this pace (fyi he's on pace for 425 carries)? There will be games where he can't get going and I think it's asking a lot from their defense to consistently stop opponents. We've seen what happens when he can't get going in the Rams game, when they fell behind 21-0 and he had 6 carries for 0 yards in that time period Point blank, theyre significantly better than they were the last 2-3 seasons, but people talking about them as the best team in the league and them possibly being 9-1 before the bye week need to chill the fuck out and remember who we're talking about here. I dont even think theyre the team to beat in the NFC East, much less the NFC or the entire league Agree on Bortles over Bridgewater, I think Teddy's getting too much hype off of 1 game against a terrible defense. And we should realistically cut Jennings first. It's not even because he's a bad player, he's just in a terrible situation here and is not a great fit. That being said, it will be much easier to get rid of Munnerlyn first than it will be to get rid of Jennings
  8. And it's hard to knock the success that he's had. But he still realistically could have been a tier or 2 higher on the all time list if he really truly wanted to

    Questions and Answers

I don't think they have a choice. Who are they gonna start instead? Stanton played nice while Palmer was out but he's still very unproven, and Palmer really isn't terrible. He's the definition of a stop gap QB. They do need to look for a long term solution almost immediately though Who are you higher on going forward: Bortles or Bridgewater?

Here's my predicted order of finish: 1. Packers 2. Seahawks 3. Eagles 4. Saints 5. 49ers 6. Bears I still think the Seahawks are the team to beat in the NFC if they can get their passing attack together. But I think that the Packers will get home field advantage in the playoffs simply because the rest of the NFC is a mess right now. I don't buy the Cowboys hot start yet, they haven't faced a legitimate offense yet and I think it's asking a lot from their defense to be able to stop the other team consistently. The Saints have completely underachieved this season and I regret picking them to win it all, but I still think they'll win the NFC South. I'm not buying the Cardinals hot start either. They seem to be taking advantage of an easy schedule so far, we'll see if they're keeping this up in December and the fact that they play in the NFC West is what will hold them back. My sleeper pick for the playoffs in Chicago. They were a bit overrated in the offseason, but when that passing attack is on point, they're very hard to stop. I think they claim the final playoff spot over the Lions despite the defensive issues Here's my question: Which team would you take as of right now: San Diego or Baltimore?

    Another Ebola case in Texas

I live in Dallas and people won't shut up about it. Everyone is either freaking out about it or making extremely unfunny jokes about how they have it (or don't have it). People need to shut up and leave it alone. You have an exponentially higher rate of dying of the flu on a daily basis than you do of ever contracting Ebola. There's a much higher chance of getting struck by lightning twice in the same spot than getting Ebola. And yet, people freak out when they see people at businesses wearing gloves to protect themselves and everyone around them. They're all thinking "wtf is wrong with them, what do they have?" It's gotten completely ridiculous and out of hand and people on Facebook and Twitter won't shut up about it or stop referencing articles that "there were 80 outbreaks last Tuesday". Funny thing is almost none of them know that just about all the articles they're posting are either fake or satirical I don't care about Ebola at all and people need to stop making it out to be a lot worse than it is. Now AIDS, that's what they should be concerned about. That's a fucking problem

    Cowboys @ Seahawks

I'll be real: I'm split on it. The offense was never the issue with me. I was saying it all offseason, I knew their offense was going to be one of the better units in the league if not one of the best, but I still dont trust their defense. They're still giving up the most yards per play in the league, it just looks better than it actually is because the offense is keeping them off the field. Theyre also very talent depleted, Orlando Scandrick should not be any team's #1 cornerback When a team is able to consistently stop Murray, or he starts to wear down and cool off from the hot start (fyi he is on pace for 425 carries, I normally ignore 'on pace for' stats within the first few weeks of the season but that doesnt mean this one should be completely ignored either), the defense is going to face a real test, and I think it's asking a lot for them to be able to consistently stop opponents. So I'm not 100% sold on this hot start yet

These Thursday Night Games Have To Go

I'm not a fan of TNF either, but the matchups that they're picking aren't matchups that you would want to see on national TV. Now Steelers @ Ravens was a good choice to kick it off, it wasn't a great game but it was better than the score indicated. But Bucs @ Falcons? Vikings @ Packers? I'm guessing those were just attempts to get a bad team on national TV, and of course, they put a good team in there so that people would actually watch Giants @ Redskins actually looked like it could be a good matchup with the way that Kirk Cousins put up the 2 weeks before that, it just happened to be a blowout because the Skins defense was so overmatched. Colts @ Texans was the first really good matchup we've had, but of course let's not ignore that it was 24-0 in the 2nd quarter There are some good matchups in there. Chargers @ Broncos looks to be great, and let's not forget the Chargers went into Denver in Week 15 on TNF and beat them to keep their playoff hopes alive. Saints @ Panthers also looks like a good game, Browns @ Bengals could be decent depending on which Browns team shows up, Cowboys @ Bears in Week 14 could be critical depending on if both teams are still in the playoff hunt by then But overall, the matchups are generally crap. Jets @ Patriots? They should have learned their lesson last season when that exact same matchup on TNF sucked ass. Bills @ Dolphins actually seems ok but it's not one I would go out of my way to watch. Chiefs @ Raiders? Please. Cardinals @ Rams was a bit of a gamble before the season, but now it looks like it will be a one sided matchup. And what better way to finish off another season of TNF than Titans @ Jaguars? Are you fucking kidding me... So bottom line, it's not very high quality football, but the matchups aren't always exactly set up for it to be that way

    Week 17 SNF Flex Game?

The only wrong answer to this question is Cowboys @ Redskins. Here is a list of games for that week btw: Carolina @ Atlanta 1 ET Cleveland @ Baltimore 1 ET Dallas @ Washington 1 ET Indianapolis @ Tennessee 1 ET Detroit @ Green Bay 1 ET Jacksonville @ Houston 1 ET San Diego @ Kansas City 1 ET NY Jets @ Miami 1 ET Chicago @ Minnesota 1 ET Buffalo @ New England 1 ET Philadelphia @ NY Giants 1 ET Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh 1 ET New Orleans @ Tampa Bay 1 ET Oakland @ Denver 4:25 ET Arizona @ San Francisco 4:25 ET St. Louis @ Seattle 4:25 ET (yes, this exact same matchup in Week 17 yet again lol) I think it could be either Panthers @ Falcons, Eagles @ Giants, or Lions @ Packers. I think all of those get moved to the 4:25 spot though. My money is on Bengals @ Steelers, with the Steelers fighting for a wild card spot and the Bengals fighting for the AFC North Don't count out the Eagles @ Giants matchup though. If this is a win or go home game for both teams where the winner takes the NFC East, this game will undoubtedly be flexed into the SNF spot

    Reactions to Week 5

Stats. Manuel has never had a 300 yard game in his entire career, and Orton had one on Sunday against a defense that had only allowed 1 QB to throw for more than 210 yds against them all season, was ranked #1 in the league, and made Aaron Rodgers look lost. He completed 30/43 and threw for 308, which I dont think anyone here could see Manuel putting up. And the difference isn't night and day, but it's significant enough that Orton is unquestionably the better player as of right now. Orton made a 40 yard pass to lead to the touchdown for the Bills, and I guarantee you EJ Manuel wouldnt have been able dream of making that pass. Yes, Henery helped giftwrap the win, but the Bills had to come back from being down 14-0 on the road as well. I know it's just one game, but that move is starting to look like it could pay off this season

    Reactions to Week 5

    1. The Cowboys are the biggest pretender in the league right now. Yes, they're 4-1, but that's one of those things that I still can't figure out. While they're running the ball more effectively, they still have the same fatal flaws that will continue to hold them back. They won a game on Sunday they realistically almost gave away many times, and they had to come back from 21 down to beat the Rams of all teams after they dug themselves into the hole with turnovers. And please do not point out how the Cowboys have held 3 of their opponents under 20 points and say that their defense is "all better now!". The Cowboys had 4 games in the first 7 weeks of the season where they held the opposing teams under 20 points, how did that turn out again? Their defense is still patchwork in progress as far as I'm concerned. The NFC East is still the Eagles division to lose. And I'm not in elimination anymore, but if I was, my pick for this week would be Seahawks over Cowboys without hesitation. There is absolutely no way they win that game, especially in Seattle 2. Chargers are getting a bit overrated right now as well, no idea why they were put at #1 in the NFL.com Power Rankings. Outside of the game where they beat Seattle, they've beaten Buffalo, Jacksonville, and the Jets. I like them but their lack of depth at running back will continue to hold them back once their schedule toughens up. They can continue to skate by for now because they play Oakland on Sunday, but they're going to need much more when they face the Chiefs and Broncos in Weeks 7 and 8 3. I was one of the few people who supported the Bills decision to turn to Kyle Orton over EJ Manuel. Who can honestly say with a straight face that Manuel would have won them that game on Sunday (or thrown a pass farther than 10 yards for that matter)? Orton can still play 4. This may be the first year we see a repeat of the Super Bowl matchup in a long time. As of now, I can't see a team in either conference that can realistically challenge either the Seahawks or Broncos 5. Has anyone been able to figure out how the Titans beat down on the Chiefs in Week 1? Yeah, me neither

  23. Easy answer as of now is the Bills, but I do think they'll be good in a year or two. However, they still have too many young pieces. Their defense is starting to work out the way they had hoped though

    Top 10 WRs

Huge disagreement on Fitz being top 10, I don't think there's really any way you can argue that Fitz is still top 10 after the last 2 seasons he's had, he didn't even lead his own team in receiving this past season. Also, I think Brandon Marshall is the 2nd best receiver in the league next to CJ, though you could definitely argue AJ Green at that spot as well

    Is the Patriots' Window Closed?

It would help if some of you guys gave actual arguments instead of being like "LOL OPs A FAGGOT". I dont care if you disagree with my opinion, but attacking me because you dont doesnt help your case at all. Also, keep in mind that teams don't just stay the same every offseason, teams improve and regress, the Pats can't expect to just stay the same and get better FYI, I never said anything about their window being closed this year or the year before that. I had them reaching the AFC Championship Game even before the season. Their loss in the AFCCG this year felt different though. Last year when they lost, I knew they had just as good of a chance to make it back, especially after the Ravens were dismantled. This year though, I don't feel that same way, especially with teams like Indy, Cinci, and Kansas City all continually improving...
