Throughout this offseason, I'll be putting up polls to let TGP determine the greatest Super Bowl of all time. With 48 of them in the books, I've set up a bracket so that 16 get a "bye week," and the rest compete in single-elimination votes. There will be no seeding round or preliminary round of any kind. This is the offseason and we want to chew as much time as possible. Also, we get to reflect on every Super Bowl from 1967 to 2014. ------------------------------------------------Matchup #1------------------------------------------------ Super Bowl XXI January 25, 1987 - Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena, CA New York Giants 39, Denver Broncos 20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wxm8WYeR8Co Highlights Giants "Big Blue Wrecking Crew" defense John Elway vs. Lawrence Taylor Giants scored 26 unanswered points after falling behind 10-9 First Super Bowl win for New York MVP: QB Phil Simms Super Bowl XXVIII January 30, 1994 - Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA Dallas Cowboys 30, Buffalo Bills 13 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL7EJpm83y8 Highlights SB rematch from previous year [first in SB history] Cowboys scored 24 unanswered points after trailing 13-6 at halftime Fourth consecutive SB appearance and loss for Buffalo Fourth Super Bowl win for Dallas MVP: RB Emmitt Smith ------------------------------------------------Matchup #2------------------------------------------------ Super Bowl VI January 16, 1972 - Tulane Stadium, New Orleans, LA Dallas Cowboys 24, Miami Dolphins 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRKAkr3ShSM Highlights Temperature at kickoff: 39 degrees F [coldest in SB history] Last SB blacked out in local market Only SB in history where losing team failed to score TD First Super Bowl win for Dallas MVP: QB Roger Staubach Super Bowl XVIII January 22, 1984 - Tampa Stadium, Tampa, FL Los Angeles Raiders 38, Washington Redskins 9 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPrm4PpOStA Highlights Known as "Black Sunday" Second consecutive SB appearance for Redskins [defending champs] Third Super Bowl win for Los Angeles [first after moving from Oakland] MVP: RB Marcus Allen
