That was their fourth win in the last five meetings between these teams. Since the Saints' Super Bowl-winning 2009 season, they're 6-3 at home against the Panthers. With a loss to the Saints, the Panthers will have alternated double-digit wins and losses for the last four years (since their 15-1 NFC Championship season in 2015). They will also have eight consecutive losses for the first time since 2002. The Saints' 31-28 win over the Steelers last week was their fourth win by three points or fewer this season, tied for the most in the league. After scoring 30+ points in nine of their first 11 games, Last week was the first time they reached that mark in their last four games. The Panthers have just 20 total rushes for negative yards this season, fewest in the league. The Saints have just 26 negative rushes, third fewest in the league (New England, 21). Christian McCaffrey enters Week 17 with 1080 rushing yards and 845 receiving yards. If he were able to reach 1000 receiving yards, he would join Marshall Faulk (1999 w/StL) and Roger Craig (1985 w/SF) as the only players in NFL history with 1000 rushing and receiving yards in the same season. Drew Brees comes into this week with 3992 passing yards -- if he plays, he will likely reach 4000 yards for the 13th consecutive season, five more than any player ever. If he doesn't play, he's guaranteed to break his own completion percentage record he set last season (74.4 this year, 72.0 last year).
