FSUViking 184 Posted April 12, 2011 Michigan’s held initial talks for game at Dolphins’ stadiumPosted by John Taylor on April 12, 2011, 11:32 AM EDT Looking to make inroads into the fertile recruiting fields of Florida — South Florida specifically — Michigan has taken the initial steps in what they hope will culminate in the Wolverines taking their football talents to a place near South Beach. Speaking at an alumni event in Naples, Fla., athletic director David Brandon told those in attendance that he has held initial talks about playing a neutral site game at the home of the Miami Dolphins, Sun Life Stadium. Brandon held those initial talks with Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, a Michigan graduate who has his name on a business school at the Ann Arbor school, but made it clear that any talk of a game in South Florida is very preliminary in nature. “We’ve had some preliminary discussions with Stephen Ross about whether or not it would be possible to come down here and play a game,†Brandon said according to the Naples News. “We don’t have anything scheduled, but that’s something we’d consider because this is an important recruiting area for us as well.†What wasn’t mentioned, though, was a potential opponent or a possible date. The Wolverines have already scheduled a future neutral site game as they will play Alabama next year at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Tex. WindyCitySports 407 Posted April 13, 2011 May be they're doing this because they want to be closer to their star QB Tate Forcier who just left them for Miami. No, no, no... But on a serious note, most teams are doing things like this. Notre Dame is playing Navy in Ireland in 2012!
FSUViking 184 Posted April 13, 2011 Weird how all the reasons why we can't have a playoff seem to mean nothing during the season. Can't have kids "missing class" to play a playoff game in Tempe...but hope a fucking plane and go to Ireland for a week? Sure, why not.
