BC 331 Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) Ravens RCB Jimmy Smith has undergone season-ending foot surgery. He'll be placed on injured reserve. Smith injured his left foot in Week 8. He went under the knife on Thursday. It's unclear if he's dealing with a Lisfranc injury. "The plan for Jimmy was to do more testing once swelling subsided," coach John Harbaugh said. "With this exam, doctors decided he needed surgery." It's a crushing blow for the Ravens, who lack any sort of a suitable fill-in for a player who had been one of the league's best corners this season. For now, they appear set to go with retread Danny Gorrer opposite a struggling Lardarius Webb. It will be a unit that can be thrown on. Now 26, Smith is heading into the final year of his rookie contract. Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter Nov 6 - 3:53 PM Edited November 6, 2014 by BC
