Texas A&M hires John Chavis to be defensive coordinator

Nashville, Tenn. -- LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis has been hired by Texas A&M, sources confirmed to NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune on Wednesday.

Chavis has a a three- or four-year deal that will pay him about $1.67 million per year, approximately $350,000 more annually than LSU was offering. He is expected to be in College Station, Texas, within 24 hours for an official announcement.

The guy has been one of the best defensive coordinators in football going on 15 years now. LSU is incredibly stupid for letting him walk.
