    Lions signed Israel Idonjie

This is going to be a much improved D-line this year, nice job on adding some good depth in the off-season. I also like the Hope pickup as well. Both look like solid fits in Detroit.
  3. Good topic. There's been some great combos through the years. As an older Vikings fan I can recall Bill Brown and Dave Osborne as two tough, bruising hard runners. Bill Brown was like a human bowling ball-5'11, 230 who got the majority of the carries. And then you have Dave Osborn who was Very tough to bring down, very strong and agile. Both Brown and Osbourn caused nothing but problems back in the day, for most defense's. Plus these two were a major part of the Viking's success of the 1960s and 1970s, the "Purple People Eater" days.

Patriots offer free exchange on Hernandez jerseys

Yeah, Well done! Very classy indeed. I applaud this effort.

    NFL arrest #s since 2000

Yeah, only 4 players were charged with misdemeanors and fined, Bryant McKinnie, Fred Smoot, Moe Williams and one other that sticks my mind right now. But there was like 16-17 players all together. But being tied with Cincy? WOW! Did not know that!

    NFL arrest #s since 2000

Yeah, I remember the boating incident, but the Vikings tied with Cincy? Damn! I see this chart was created two days ago, so this would not include Colts defensive back and special teamer Joe Lefeged who was arrested Friday night on multiple gun charges? So make that 24 arrests for Indy?

    Top 10 Safeties

1.Eric Weddle I remember the NFL Network guys yukking it up when Weddle got that huge contract a few years ago. Well best way to shut people up is play like Weddle does. Hands down, the best safety in the NFL when looking at coverage, tackling and run support. Weddle is a complete player who can thrive no matter the down or distance. 2.Jairus Byrd Few safeties had the all-around year that Byrd did in the Bills defense. He’s a triple threat as a cover man, run defender and ball hawk who can create turnovers in the secondary. 3.Earl Thomas Thomas is one of the better free safeties in the NFL today. While he lacks size, Thomas makes up for that with excellent vision, range and fluid ability in coverage. 4.Reshad Jones Do yourself a favor and find some 2012 Miami Dolphins games online. Jones was a beast all season, showing up as a cover man and run defender. He’s one of the NFL’s best up-and-coming players. 5.T.J. Ward Ward makes his impact on the game in run support and in intimidating receivers over the middle. What he lacks in pure cover skills or speed, he makes up for with big hits and consistent presence against the run. 6.William Moore Moore will frustrate you over the course of the season, he also makes up for poor plays with big plays under the spotlight. A well-rounded strong safety who brings value in his ability to create turnovers, Moore has incredible potential to move up the rankings in 2013 with another strong showing. 7.Dashon Goldson A Pro Bowl safety and a solid ball hawk. Goldson can create and force turnovers, plus his ability to limit yards after the catch in coverage. He’s always close by and can limit big plays in the open field. Not to mention Goldson will ring your bell, but he also misses tackles that look like sure things. Hasn’t been consistent there, but can bring the lumber and knock guys down and out. 8.Ryan Clark His 2012 season ranked as one of the best we saw. Clark held opposing quarterbacks to a rating of 48.5 on the year while allowing just 19 catches on passes thrown his way. He is at his best when playing up against the run, something of a rarity for a free safety. His ability to plant and explode up the field and stop the run is one of his strengths. A solid, physical all-around free safety. 9.Reggie Nelson A versatile safety who can play both free and strong positions, Nelson’s value is in his coverage ability. He doesn’t pack much punch in run support or as an open-field tackler, but his speed and shutdown ability are top-notch. 10.Kerry Rhodes Rhodes showed a ton of improvement in 2012 with a better supporting cast around him. He’s still an active, aggressive free safety who can close on the ball and make plays in the passing game.

    Update: Vikings signed Desmond Bishop

I can't say Jennings did it out of spite. IDK maybe..like going straight from the Pack to the Vikings. Not a year removed from the team like Favre to the Jets first, but straight from one team to the other. It is not like Jennings did what Favre did to the Pack right? The Favre divorce was a mess that never went away for few years.. Jennings divorce was kind of an easy one. Wouldn't you say? Really players signing with their rivals has been going on for decades. It makes for a more interesting rivalry IMO!

Is Moss good enough for Canton?

ABSOLUTELY! Randy Moss is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. For most of the last 14 years, nobody could keep Moss out of the end zone. How can you keep him out of the Hall of Fame? This guy routinely embarrassed NFL defensive backs. Whether he out-jumped them in the red zone or streaked by them on a deep fly pattern, in his prime, Moss was a threat to score on every play. He was also one of the most athletically gifted NFL players in the history of the league. He is one of the all-time best receivers, and the most dangerous deep threat the game has ever seen. Hey the numbers don't lie! (9th)982 rec./ (3rd)15,292 yds/ avg 15.6/(2nd) 156 tds Every statistical measurement of Moss's career indicates that he is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Though for some strange reason something tells me the old-school voters might make him wait. They will look at his history of taking plays off and looking out for himself and hold that against him. Eventually, though, the Hall of Fame voters will have to accept what fans figured out and NFL teams reluctantly accepted..Like him or hate him, Randy Moss was just too damn good. They made him wait until the 21st pick in 1998, there should be no reason at all to make him wait again. They will have to let him into the Hall. And it should make for a fascinating ceremony. Especially if he skips it! LOL!! SKOL VIKINGS!!

    Update: Vikings signed Desmond Bishop

Crazy? Nah! Well yeah maybe a little. LOL. But they know what they lost, just like you said. I agree and I understand where your coming from, it pisses you off! But that's the business of the game. Really it was a no-brainer on Bishop's part when you think about it. He’ll have a chance to start, he doesn’t have to move very far, and the Vikings have one of the best trainers in the NFL in Eric Sugarman to help him recovery from the hamstring. Let's see... Darren Sharper – Castoff in GB – Pro Bowler in MN Ryan Longwell – Castoff in GB – Pro Bowler in MN Brett Favre – Castoff in GB – Pro Bowler in MN Maybe Bishop & Jennings know what time it is. LOL!
  13. If I'm picking one to be my franchise guy, there is NO question in my mind..Luck all day!! There's nobody else I would go with. Not even RGIII

    Update: Vikings signed Desmond Bishop

WHAT? 0-16? C'mon man where's the love? LOL. Two of my Packer friends texted me today and you know what they said? It's sloppy seconds! LOL. I said maybe so, but the Pack tend to leave quite a bit of tread on the tires of some of their players when they leave.. But you have to admit this was a solid move? Just something to keep in mind. When Bishop first arrived in Green Bay, the Packers were running a 4-3 Bishop was the back up to Nick Barnett the starting MLB. So I would be surprised if he’s not being signed in order to solidify the MLB for us and avoid having to move Henderson out of his normal spot. If Bishop can provide a one year stop-gap while Mauti heals up and Hodges learns the NFL game, our defense will be looking solid for years to come. Low Risk, high potential reward. I Like it!

    Your Teams Mount Rushmore?

I'm old school, so going all old school here– Bud Grant Fran Tarkenton Alan Page Paul Krause Not to disrespect AP or the modern iterations of the Vikings, but these were the mainstays of the glory years.
