ASJ to the Seahawks
-
What about Evans? Evans is too similar to Megatron, IMO. Obviously not saying he will be anywhere near as dominate as Megatron, but they are both huge bodies and I think the Lions would rather have a guy like Watkins, who can pretty much do anything and is good in open space. He'd be a perfect compliment to Megatron. The rumors are all saying the Lions want to trade up for him too, so we'll see.

Update: Richard Sherman, Seahawks strike $57.4M extension
AllYouNeedIsLovie replied to BLUE's topic in NFC
Lol the bucs management sucked ass and didn't even use Revis properly. And also, Sherman > Revis. Still... too much in one position that is not QB. Not disagreeing with that. Everyone here knows how angry I was with Schiano about his use of Revis. Either way though, CB is not a premium position and the Seahawks have an awful lot of money tied up to their secondary which I think will end up biting them in the ass down the road. That amount of money on the defensive side of the ball should only be spent on pass rushers, IMO. I do disagree with Sherman being better than Revis though. Sherman fits the Seahawks D perfectly and is incredible for them, but he definitely wouldn't be as good in other systems. Revis will be amazing no matter what defense he is in. In Seattle's D, Sherman is probably just as good as Revis, but Revis is the better overall CB still. -
Hate to break it to you but Donald isn't stout at the point of attack. All of his talent is in pass rushing. On double teams and power plays he tends to get driven. He has the ability to shed blocks quickly, but I don't know how often he will do that in the NFL as a rookie. So playing him at the 1 technique or anywhere on a inside shoulder might not be a great option. The dude dominated everyone he has faced and has ridiculous strength and quickness off the snap. I'm not expecting him to come into the league and dominate right away, but I think he will be a huge force come year 3. So you draft a guy #7 who can give Mccoy a breather? Why do that when someone like Easley can be had in round 3. Easley was a first rounder before his injury. No, you draft him and play him all over the defensive line. He's a great pass rusher and could play DE if needed. Having a defensive linemen who is as versatile as Donald is great to have.
-
Donald could give McCoy a breather and he obviously wouldn't only be playing the 3 technique. Donald is an extremely versatile player and could pretty much play anywhere on the line. With the addition of Donald, we could possibly have the best D-line in the NFL and have a ton of depth at DT. Having great depth on the D-line and rotating guys in and out is never a bad thing.

Pauline reports the Bucs ownership is "pushing for" Johnny Manziel instead. In Tampa, Donald could play the three-tecnhique spot and push Gerald McCoy to nose tackle, giving the Bucs four players capable of getting to the quarterback on the defensive line. No. 5 to Oakland is about as high we could see Donald going with his floor being No. 8 to the Vikings or No. 13 to the Rams. I would be very happy with Donald. Dude is an absolute monster and can play pretty much anywhere on the line. Donald and McCoy next to each other with Johnson and Clayborn on the edge would wreck havoc for opposing offensive lines. I'd be okay with Manziel, but I'd rather have Bridgewater or Bortles over him.

Very excited for this draft. Really have no clue what is going to happen with any team and there are so many scenarios the Bucs can go with. As long as we don't draft an OT or trade up, I will probably be at least content with the pick.

Way too much for a CB. The Bucs tried this with Revis and it obviously didn't work out. CB isn't a premium position where you pay that type of money. Neither is Safety and the Seahawks just gave Earl Thomas $10 mil per year. The Seahawks are gonna be in trouble soon with the cap after tying all of that money up in the secondary, especially when they have to sign Wilson to a mega deal. -
Lots of good receivers in this draft. I wanted to see how people are ranking them. Here are my top 5 in order: 1. Mike Evans 2. Sammy Watkins 3. Brandin Cooks 4. Odell Beckham Jr 5. Allen Robinson
-
Overall, I agree with most of this, but I would have Mosley a lot higher. I think he is gonna be a stud in the NFL.
-
I'm shocked so many people are leaving Cooks off their list. The dude reminds me of Steve Smith. He is lightning quick, can still go up and get a jump ball, has great hands and is great in open space.
-
No Brandin Cooks? I think he is definitely a top 3 receiver in this draft.

Trident's Three-Minute Mock from TGP Radio

I would be furious if we took Matthews over Bridgewater or Evans. -
^Wondering the same thing. I don't think anyone is even close.
-
That is a shit ton of money for a Safety, but he's the best in the league and is probably the most important player on that defense. The Seahawks are going to be tying an awful a lot of money into that secondary assuming they pay Sherman.

The first round of the NFL Draft has a true success rate of about 50%. If you had to predict half of them to succeed and half of them to bust, who would you pick? Boom Marcell Dareus Von Miller Patrick Peterson AJ Green Julio Jones J.J. Watt Nick Fairley Robert Quinn Mike Pouncey Ryan Kerrigan Nate Solder Prince Amukamara Anthony Castonzo Blaine Gabbert Mark Ingram Gabe Carimi Bust Cam Newton Aldon Smith Tyron Smith Jake Locker Danny Watkins Christian Ponder Corey Liuget Adrian Clayborn Phil Taylor Cameron Jordan James Carpenter Jon Baldwin Jimmy Smith Muhammad Wilkerson Cameron Heyward Derek Sherrod

I would smash my TV if we took Gilbert over Bridgewater.

3 Round Mock (w/ explanations in 1st rd)
AllYouNeedIsLovie replied to Jordan629's topic in NFL Draft
Yea, like the other Bucs fans have said here, I wouldn't be too happy with Matthews. Dotson is one of the best RT's in the NFL and we just signed Anthony Collins to a solid contract and expect him to start at LT. In this scenario, I'd take Mike Evans. With Mike Williams gone now, we have no one behind V-Jax. -
As much as I love Mike Evans, I would be beyond pissed if we passed on Bridgewater in this case. I'd be shocked if he falls to #7, but if he does, the Bucs need to take him. I'd also be shocked to see Johnny fall all the way to #26 too. Don't think Carr is going to go ahead of him.
-
Respond to the post above you and just post a question that can have an answer of over or under. This specific topic is for the NFC South only but feel free to make one for other divisions or just general NFL. I'll start Over or Under: 11 sacks for Adrian Clayborn in 2012.
-
For a 6th round pick, the Bills are getting a steal. Mike is great at going up at getting jump balls and has great body control. He actually really reminds me of Stevie Johnson, they should make a great duo.
-
LOL. A 6th round pick for Mike Williams? Are you fucking kidding me? Absolute garbage.
-
Been working out for the past 2 months or so and am starting to see some good results. So happy I finally got dedicated to getting into good shape.
-
I'd be pretty shocked if Carr was the 2nd QB off the board, but I guess anything is possible. I'd also be shocked if we passed on Teddy if he makes it to #7.

Lay off NBB his boyfriend is still jobless. When the hell did I ever say trading Doug Martin was a good idea?
