  1. Weddle said he wanted to play for a contender...

Yet. The Ravens aren't even the best team in that division...and the Steelers are a few pieces away on defense from becoming SB fav's in the AFC.

    Loser.

I'm not saying the Ravens are a contender, but just because they aren't the best team in the division doesn't mean they're not a contender.

For the record, I don't think the Ravens are a contender, and I hate them. Just pointing out the logic you used is flawed, Churles.

  2.

I got my 4th raise in 6 months and this time it was $2. We also get $50 bonuses for catching fake IDs, and this past month I've caught 3 (they're very uncommon and people that have worked there years have only had a few each).

Do you keep the fake ID and just tell them to leave the store? Any of them give you shit?

Hey now, you should be thanking Liverpool for kicking City's ass so your loss wasn't as bad. Fuck you, City. You take our cup, we take your title chances away!

Not to mention lolArsenal getting beat by Swansea. Fucking losers always do this in the second half of the season lol.

  4. Awesome chapter. Definitely thought we were heading for a loss. Good on Flash for sticking up to Floyd. POS.

Eventually, Maverick comes to his feet, helmet missing, nose bleeding, blood dripping down off his chin, football in hand.

“Get off my fucking field, you pieces of shit!”

Feeling a surge of adrenaline, he sprints downfield, as if still carrying the ball, and spikes it against the grass as hard as he can, screaming as loud as he can. This fires the fans up even louder, somehow, and the brawl finally ends.

That's something I would probably say IRL lol. I've pulled similar stunts in my soccer days.

  5. Holy shit...I hope that doesn't become a thing. That is literally unstoppable unless the keeper commits to that from the start...which is impossible.

Neymar gon look good in Man City tho :smug:

If the stat I read is accurate (which I believe it is), that's only the fifth time a penalty has been taken like that since 1957. It's not going to become a trend.

No, Neymar will not be a Man City player. I am 95% sure.....I hope.

it just forces defenders to get involved, I actually don't really mind it especially since teams will be watching for it now, kinda silly to pull that out in a 4-1 game

having said that, I wouldn't complain about changing the rule to require the ball to hit either the keeper or a post before another attacking player

I don't think it was silly at all. I assume you think it's silly because they wasted the opportunity to use it in a meaningless game and now teams will be prepared for it. That's not the case. There won't be a rule change. As I said above, previously this has only been done four times since 1957. It's nothing more than a trick play that's very impressive when successfully executed. Contrary to what Charles thinks, it's not unstoppable and decreases your chances of scoring which is why it's rarely performed.

We won't be seeing this again for quite some time which makes it so awesome.

  6. ^Big win for sure. You guys are playing very well.

Sorry Bjorn, I think you guys are definitely getting relegated at this point. It was nice enjoying the win but I do feel bad for ya.

I had the glorious pleasure of watching the Barca game yesterday...I literally screamed a couple times during moments in the second half. I can post thousands of links, but some of the things I saw....holy shit.

^let's also note right before this, Neymar rainbowed a defender lol. And this was the PK:

  7. Fuck Leicester and all their fans.

They are an average team with a golden horseshoe rammed up their ass. All 3 goals they scored were either of a deflection or a set piece given to them by a ref that made questionable calls all game in favor of them.

    lol..

City got shit on, Churles. Deal with it.

I'm rooting for Leicester or Arsenal to win it all since my team blows. :mjtears:

  8. Give me Denver 20-13, for a couple of reasons:

    1) A lot of people picking a blowout in this one - which is a little concerning. Same thing happened last weekend with the Pats and look what happened.

    2) Defense wins championships. Great offense vs great defense. We know how that usually ends up. I'll note that the difference here is that Carolina's defense is still pretty damn good so the motto doesn't entirely apply to this situation, but it still carries some weight.

    3) It's worth mentioning Denver will be the best defense Carolina has faced this season.

Having said that, I like both teams and wouldn't mind either winning. I prefer Denver because of Peyton and Ware, but I wouldn't be upset if Carolina won.

    Pretty accurate. :yep:

Than tried telling me Seattle's D was just as good as Denver lol...

  9.

    “Well?” Maverick asks.

The trainer looks at the quarterback, the coaches, then back to the quarterback.

    “You’re ready.”

I got goosebumps when I read this. Let's fucking go!!!

    Slight grammatical error, Steven.

"The Ravens and Steelers are both 8-5, so whoever loses the West won’t necessary necessarily be granted a wild card."

Great chapter. Resigning our GM, Mav is back, we're ready to roll!

    1) I think you missed the point here. My point is that New England's problem in Denver stemmed from only having a pass game. It was amazing it worked as long as it did, frankly. Their offensive line is the second worst in the league at pass blocking. Carolina? #4. Everything the Broncos did to New England will not work in the same way against Carolina. What Denver did to NE is irrelevant because NE is such a different team than the Panthers offensively.

The predictions that I saw on NFL was about 60% Carolina/40% Arizona. Denver was about an 80-20 underdog. I'm not saying NE wasn't expected to beat the Broncos ass, because they were; just that I feel like it doesn't really matter.

    2) New England beat Seattle because their offense scored 14 points on the #1 defense in the league in the 4th AND because their defense made a goal-line stop when it mattered. Balance > Purely defense, which is all Denver has.

    3) Perhaps, but Carolina has played 4 teams this year in the top 10 in defense and has won all those games by an average of 10 points.

Regardless, I do think Denver can slow the Panthers offense, what I question is whether Old Man Peyton can put up literally anything against Carolina's defense.

I'm fine with your 2nd and 3rd points. Nothing more needs to be said really.

You're missing what I'm saying though about my first point. You're analyzing the matchup trying to break it down on the football field - which is fine - but I'm not trying to do that. Similar to MHG's post above, I'm looking at the underdog factor. Denver should have been blown out a couple times now according to the majority, but they keep winning. My prediction is that the same thing happens in this game.

That's the beauty, or some would say ugly side, of sports. Fans, experts, and analysts can make all of their predictions based on statistics, matchups, etc, yet in the first five minutes of a game all of that can be completely thrown out the window.
