Browns agree to terms with Brandon Jackson

Meh, just depth. If you can't succeed in a Green Bay offense... it's not like he wasn't given opportunities. Ryan Grant had his issues, and Jackson never shined in his absence.

Update: Eagles trade Kolb to the Cardinals

    I have no complaints

Update: DeSean Jackson not close to new deal

I would lock him up long term. Desean has all the leverage here, he can burn nearly anyone, he can score on any play, he's not only a WR but a top punt returner in the NFL. I'd geterdone.

    Patriots trade for Fat Albert

I think the question is what is his role and what is his impact. Is he a backup 3-4 NT to Wilfork? Do they try him at end? Do they wanna switch it up and go 4-3? All that 4-3/3-4 complicated mess is what will be interesting to watch them sort out.

    Cardinals about to get robbed.

I'm sensing some hostility in this thread.

    Tim Tebow Leadership argument...

I would argue that play on the field has such a big role that you can't call Tebow one of the better leaders in the NFL yet. Everyone expects that he has the potential to be one, but I think that's different. If I'm a reciever or lineman getting barked at by Tebow, I want him to have accomplished something first. The argument that you are "born a leader" doesn't work. You have to get that respect from your teammates, and make them believe that you can lead the team to victory, not just lead. Part of leading is with your words and enthusiasm, but an even bigger part of leading is overcoming an adversity, whether it be throw a touchdown pass with a crippled arm like Stafford did, turn a play that was destined to fail into a crucial game changing play like Eli Manning did, or whatever.

    Official Workout Thread

What is your position in this field, exactly? For the record, I'm not going off tons of studying on the subject that I havn't done, I'm going off of experience, things I've heard and tried and it worked successfully, and bits and pieces of unthorough research. I dug up enough information to make myself as knowledgeable on the subject as I wanted to be to the point where I knew enough to go make a fun little hobby out of it. This dude doesn't sound like he's preparing for a nutritionist test either, he just wants to inrease in size and get a little stronger, like most all of us are looking to do. I love hypershock, though i don't know how to defend it any other way than to try it. It does wonders. The weight you can lift increases, the duration you can lift for increases. There are so many myths out there that of course advice sources are going to contradict. The only thing you can do is do the things that are said consistant; eat 6 meals a day (or as often as possible), eat your weight in lean protein, like you said, drink a gallon of water, and include whey protein shakes, especially right after your lift.

Update: Seahawks sign WR Sidney Rice

Hey now, two starting offensive lineman aint really that bad. If they bust, they bust, but they were drafted by the same guy that pieced together the 2011 superbowl champion Packers.

    Alex Smith re-signs with 49ers

The longer Alex Smith stays the better. I'm a huge fan. You bitches arn't getting Luck.

Jets reach out to Nnamdi Asomugha

I'd really love this to happen, just so I can witness the meltdown.

    Trade for Mcnabb is complete

They have a young quarterback, so it's a good addition, kind of like Hasselbeck to the Titans. It gives them good options. You can go veteran for the first four games of the year, and if the team tanks or he gets hurt, then you can "ponder" a change.

Jets re-sign Holmes to 5 yr deal

Touche on the stat, but he's definetely worth the money, being a veteran #1 reciever and still being that young, you know he'll be great for several more years. He'll be tough to defend and give defenses headaches. He's their best offensive player, they really had no choice but to do this, unless you really have faith in Braylon Edwards. I'd puke if we signed Braylon Edwards.

    Random Musings

Havin a helluva time at work this week. Usually bored and have nothing to do, but all this FA news to listen to the radio is kick ass. Robert Gallery is exciting, makes the Oline less of a problem. Now we need RAY EDWARDS!

    Eric Weddle re-signs with Chargers

Highest paid safety in the NFL now. That just about takes care of the big name safeties, what do the Cowboys do now?
  16. Do whatever it takes to keep Mebane. There is literally nobody else to fill his shoes. We're trying to get competitie in a couple of years. Might as well already have a defense in place by the time we get our franchise quarterback.

    Panthers sign Olindo Mare

Why does everyone overpay our kickers? First the Rams throw the dough at Josh Brown and now this.

Jets re-sign Holmes to 5 yr deal

Entirely not true. He has done nothing but crack 1,000 yard seasons, even last year when he missed the first four games. He was one of the more highly touted prospects, and has shined throughout regular season, postseason, and has a superbowl MVP under his belt. He is one of the more clutch recievers you will find in the NFL. If you want one of the best, you gotta throw the dough. The Jets have come within one game of the superbowl the last two years, and are showing how committed they are to keeping their core group of studs, which is the right thing to do. Now if they gave this kind of money to Braylon Edwards, then THAT would be overpaying. I don't think they bring him back. He is a guy who hasn't lived up to the bid like Santonio has. His one amazing year in Cleveland inflated his numbers and gave people false hope that he was something that he isn't.
  19. I knew he would end up in Tennessee as soon as Seattle was crossed off the list. It's not at all a bad signing. He had a very poor supporting cast for many of the years he was here. When he had a top NFL offensive line in 2005, along with a good ground game, he was very effective. I feel like in Tennessee his line will be much better than the line he played with for the last 4 years. His purpose isn't to take them to the superbowl anyways. His purpose is to buy them time to get ready for Jake Locker, and hopefully keep them at a steady 8-8 playoff contender type team in the meantime. I thoroughly enjoyed his years here, and yelled my ass off many times at Qwest field after lots of his touchdown passes. The 41-0 asskicking against the Jaguars, the NFC Championship lashing he layed on the Panthers, and of course his last game ever played here, the greatest upset in Seahawks history, knocking off the defending champion Saints. A ring most certainly would've been nice, but I have no complaints or regrets with having Hasselbeck be our QB for the last decade. We made the playoffs nearly every year this last decade. Good times.

    How excited are you, really?

This three-day boom for FA signings is actually more exciting than the long drawn out FA period in other years. Everything happening at once gives me a reason to stay tuned to sports news around the clock for pretty much this whole week. I can't ever remember free agency being this fun.

    Seahawks sign Robert Gallery

 That's what I'm talkin about. Addressing the O-line. Russell Okung Robert Gallery James Carpenter (1st rounder) John Moffit (2nd rounder) Max Unger That's whats up.

Marvin Lewis says Carson Palmer has retired

My dude, whats goin on in your thought process? Carson Palmer was a top college QB. A shit team drafted him. They managed a playoff berth a couple of times and made a couple splashes when the Steelers had down years, but they never mustered a real legit SB contender roster. All the other key players he has left are talking to other teams as we speak. Why should he have to just rot the last couple years of his career he has left? He's absolutely taking the high road. The Bengals are the ones lookin like bitches, because they are getting absolutely nothing when they most certainly could have had a mid round draft pick.

Who starts at QB for Seahawks?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it really doesn't matter who starts in 2011, because the first round draft selection will be starting in 2012. It's a throwaway season, though I'd still like to see us bring in Ray Edwards and other free agents, since Pete Carroll has said our priority is to become strong on defense first, which I am not opposed to at all.
  24. BC

Matt Hasselbeck won't be a Seahawk

I think the main matter is, it really doesn't matter who the QB in 2011 is, because in 2012 it will be the first round draft selection almost guaranteed. I would give up the entire rest of the class to move up to the top spot if that's what it takes to get Andrew Luck. And if not Luck, Matt Barkley is said to be a great option, though I honestly can say I'm not at all knowledgeable on him. I just hope Pete Carroll and John Schneider get the best guy they can possibly get, rather than take the guy Carroll likes. We did pass on Taylor Mays... who turned out to be a best. So that shows that Pete cares more about winning than getting the guy he coached at USC.
