I agree with Sapp. Definetely worthy of the MVP. Who cares if the season hasn't even started yet.

injuries are puling up everywhere...
Players doing workouts on their own don't quite compare to the intensity of the team workouts. That said, you can thank the lockout for an increase in injuries this season. Basically reiterating John Clayton's take on it.

Mason Foster was the center of the defense for three solid years down the road from me at UW. Beast.

Since when do they make odds for this? Don't tell me people bet on this in vegas. That said, I disagree with the list. What offensive players excel right away? Not quarterbacks. Not wide recievers. Runningbacks. Daniel Thomas will win it if he doens't get injured. The Dolphins have one of the shakiest QB situations, indicating lots of running plays. They also have a lack of reliable runningbacks. Reggie Bush is maybe 10 carry per game guy, mostly on third downs, passing situations, and wildcat.

I've never actually done any of this, but using someone elses urine is of course the safest method. You just have to be careful that it doesn't get out of the temperature range, and I have no idea what the range is. I've heard people taping it to the inside of their leg, or somewhere where it will stay at least warm enough. Then, there's the cranberry juice trick. It takes a gallon, but I'd drink a little more just to be on the safe side if this is something you're really gunna try.

I see both sides, but isn't making under a mil for a guy like Desean kind of insulting? And if you're going to hold out, don't cave after just a week.
-
Wasn't Jason Snelling still out there? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I never saw anything on him getting signed. Seems like he'd be one of the top "bruiser back" options.

"No competition" because you did nothing in the offseason to address it.

Albert Haynesworth misses practice
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- On the same day the New England Patriots bulked up their defensive line by adding three new faces to the field, defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth missed his third straight practice Monday at Gillette Stadium.
Veteran defensive linemen Andre Carter and Gerard Warren were in full pads for the Patriots' lone session of the day, while Shaun Ellis joined the team in a T-shirt and shorts for the session, while also spending some of his time doing work with the strength and conditioning staff inside the team's fieldhouse. All three players officially inked free-agent deals with the Patriots on Monday, while the team released safety Brandon McGowan.
It remains unclear -- injury or otherwise -- why Haynesworth has not been on the field. Patriots coach Bill Belichick did not address his absence Monday, but Haynesworth first missed Friday's practice and has not been spotted since (the Patriots had Sunday off).
Also not spotted at Monday's practice were defensive lineman Mike Wright, linebacker Brandon Spikes, center/guard Ryan Wendell and running back Eric Kettani. A camp-high 12 players were in shorts and T-shirts doing rehab work during the session: Running backs Kevin Faulk (active/PUP) and Shane Vereen; wide receiver Brandon Tate; offensive linemen Matt Light (active/PUP) and Marcus Cannon (active/NFI); defensive linemen Ellis, Ron Brace (active/PUP), and Brandon Deaderick (active/PUP); linebacker/safety Josh Barrett; cornerback Ras-I Dowling; and safeties James Sanders and Ross Ventrone.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski left the field midway through Monday's rain-soaked session accompanied by members of the team's training staff. It was unclear what injury, if any, Gronkowski suffered, but he left the field under his own power.
Later, offensive lineman Dan Connolly suffered a right elbow injury and did not return to action, nor did offensive lineman Chris Morris, who appeared to suffer a left ankle injury during offensive vs. defensive line blocking drills. Finally, guard Logan Mankins looked sluggish in between his reps during the final drills of the session, frequently taking an extended knee and staying behind the rest of the offensive line group as they moved to their next drill.

Did Mikel Leshoure somehow magically recover from his season ending injury that fast?

We all wanna watch more football and start the season earlier while we sit around and wait for it all Summer, but we don't see the drawbacks. Alot of guys can't even last 16 games. The Superbowl teams play 24. The whole fact that there are as few games as there are makes each one so meaningful, and that's why we all insist on dedicating entire days/weekends/weeks to watching the games. The infrequency is probably the biggest asset and drives the entertainment of the sport.

I'm wondering if we're gunna be able to recognize Tarvaris Jackson after the week two game at Pittsburgh, or if maybe they'll just feel sorry for him and take him down easy. Either way, minumum two sacks for James Harrisson and at least four total.

Detroit is looking pretty desperate for somebody right now.

There goes one of my big sleeper picks. So they have Jahvid Best and who else?

I like guys like this, stay loyal to the team that drafted you. I understand some players wanting to leave to a SB contender but a lot leave just for money and it's nice to see some guys aren't all about the money.
I would attribute the whole direction of the team (signing Sidney Rice, signing Robert Gallery, signing Zach Miller, signing Alan Branch, drafting two walruses for the offensive line) the main reason Brandon Mebane stuck around.

1-15, We are obviously trying to get in on Andrew Luck.
Screw you, we're gunna suck more!
-
Yup. A couple of white guys can always do wonders for a team's diversity.
-
Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!! The 49ers are fuckin stupid.
-
Is it the cap issue? Dude is a helluva reciever and underrated. Bears? Vikings? Chargers? Panthers? Now's your chance. Damn us for already signing Sidney Rice. Bahhh....
-
He definetely is not a blitzer. He was tremendous at stopping the run when he was in his prime, has a nose for the football and doesn't miss a tackle. On pass plays he kind of hovers, but that's where he doesn't have much use. He has a 3 INT game under his belt, and has some big INTs in big games, but that's not where his value is. He isn't on Urlacher's level, but both of them end up on the sideline awfully quick. Tatupu would be a better option on a team like the Eagles who have a need for the ILB who is smart, a leader, and is at the hole by the time the runningback is.

Why are you drunk at 4 on a Wednesday?

The Raiders are now flirting with Kevin Boss a little, trying to lure him to Oakland. The thing is, Boss wants the kind of contract Miller got, but he's not near the player Miller is. They have a ton of money tied up with Darius Heyward Bey and Darren McFadden.

Needing a kicker after Olindo Mare agreed to a deal with the Carolina Panthers, the Seattle Seahawks reportedly signed Jeff Reed on Wednesday. The Seahawks' kicker position has been in limbo early in training camp, with Brandon Coutu lasting all of a few days and Wes Byrum the only other kicker on the roster. But now, it appears the Seahawks will have a veteran presence at the kicker spot, though it's unknown how well Reed will hold-up, or whether he's in decline.

He retired years ago, in 2008. He just never realized it.
