I think the NCAA is moving towards compensating the athletes. I know most people probably have a misconception about how much a school actually earns. I can't remember the figures exactly but it was surprisingly low on average. The toughest part is figuring out how to do it fairly. I think it needs to be equal athlete to athlete and sport to sport. I think making the amount dependent on individual performance would be a mistake. It could cause all kinds of resentment and other Bullshit you don't need in a team environment. It could also give birth to a massive PED problem. Here is how I would do it. I would make it NCAA wide. So all the money the NCAA makes would be pooled and disbursed so you don't have the best talent flocking to the big schools for the bigger pay days. I would give every athlete a flat stipend. The amount of the stipend would be dependent upon the revenue generated by the sport you play. Obviously football players would get larger stipends than tennis players. Your parents should have taught you a man's sport. Athletes would also earn X amount of dollars per year of service to the University which would be paid to the athlete upon leaving college. The amount earned per year would vary depending on the revenue of the NCAA that year. They could set it up to where athletes are fairly compensated but also to where the Universities could profit. The Universities do have to profit. It is a business. Of course this is just the basics and there would be a lot more thought put into it. Percentages and all the other bullshit but this is the only way I could think of doing it. If you go pro you still get paid and if you don't you finish your degree and you get a larger check than the guy who left a year early for a chance at the NFL. I'm sure this idea will get shot to shit but its better than nothing.

I-O! I would like to see them go undefeated again. I know with their schedule they can do it but even undefeated they aren't guaranteed a title shot because of their schedule. All they can do is win games. The rest is up to the football Gods. No matter what they do haters gonna hate.

Its confirmed to have been fake. Or so I read.

Or if he wasn't Muslim to begin with.. What does Muslim have to do with race?

I don't recall outrage over these. These are just a few. Many images of this nature appeared in art exhibits and at film festivals. I find the hypocrisy downright hilarious. You have all these people so passionate in their hatred of the previous administration yet fully support the current administration. Who has continued all those policies they so adamantly hated and has even violated our freedoms further. Again the hypocrisy is hilarious. Its refreshing to see support declining.

I like what I've seen from Cameron so far. Had a good game against the Lions.

BREAKING: Urban Meyer has dismissed starting RB Carlos Hyde
BUCK3Y3 replied to Bucman's topic in NCAA Sports
Roby likely will not miss any playing time. No charges are going to be filed against him. I really wish these guys would stay out of bars and clubs. Guess that is to much to ask of college aged young men though. -
Armstrong Has Damaged All Sports, Not Just Cycling Says Federer

Tennis player commenting on cycling. Thats hard hitting stuff. -
Alot of people do abuse the system. There is no worse abuser of taxpayer money than the federal government however. Especially the current administration. " Likewise, the word "entitlement" has long been the standard terminology for payments made under government programs that guarantee and provide benefits to particular groups. Persons who have demonstrated their eligibility to claim such payments are entitled (i.e., "qualified for by right according to law") to receive them. The usage has nothing to do with pejorative connotations associated with the word (e.g., "a sense of entitlement") which are often applied to denote people expecting or demanding something they do not merit."

Norv is a pretty good OC. Sucks as a HC.

The half full frozen nalgene bottle is pretty sweet too.

I like the coaching staff the are putting together. I'm still not quite sold on Chud though. I think this new owner is good for the Browns. He has a desire to win which Lerner didn't really have.

Freakin genius. I like the wet paper towel wrapped around the drink trick.

I watched a few of his videos. I dont agree with everything he say but I agree with alot of it. Hes a passionate guy. I respect that.
-
On the topic at hand yes he is. I didnt say he was Isaac Newton.
-
I was hoping he'd drill Piers Morgan in the face.
-
You can say the notion is ridiculous but as he pointed out its happened many times throughout history. Plenty of governments have disarmed their citizens and exerted their will. It has happened and it could happen here. I enjoy this guys passion for what he believes in.
-
This man is very well educated. Im trying to figure out why someone would take issue with him. Hes correct. Piers Morgan is a dickbag.

Did anyone see Nate Burlesons TD celebration against the Browns? He made an amazing catch which was cool but then got up and did the Lebron "powder toss" to the Cleveland Fans. What a douche. Haha.

Jim Tressel Resigns as Ohio State Football Coach
BUCK3Y3 replied to Barracuda's topic in NCAA Sports
Yeah he did take a bullet. I believe the AD knew about the situation the entire time. I think Tressel took all the blame to save Ohio State from a far worse punishment. I'm not saying Tressel did nothing wrong. I'm saying other people knew and could have gone down but did not, because Tressel shouldered all the blame. -
Yep wipe it from the record books. The highlights still exist so I'm good and Michigan knows.... Go Bucks!

McCoy looked good against GB's first team but its just preseason. He did look good though.....

Jim Tressel Resigns as Ohio State Football Coach
BUCK3Y3 replied to Barracuda's topic in NCAA Sports
I miss Tress already. Glad this is pretty much over. Tress took a big bullet for the University IMO. Mainly for Gene Smith who is vying for head of the NCAA. All in all I think it was blown way out of proportion. I think a season long suspension would have been punishment enough for both the players and Tress. It could have been much worse. Glad the car deal blew up. People were really coming at Ohio State from all sides. I'm glad this situation occurred however. Not glad it occurred at Ohio State but glad it occurred none the less because its getting the ball rolling on NCAA reform. Everything that comes out of it may not but good but something has to be.....All in all I'm ready for some Buckeye football. Can't wait to watch Ohio State play in Indy for the first ever Big 10 championship game.
