What song are you listening to atm???

Impressive cover. -
But, Chicago is such a shithole! Why would you even go to that dump? Major props and congrats to Duck Fallas! :beerchug: Go get 'em!

Congrats!!! :beerchug: In your interview, talk to them like you have known them for years, while still acting like it is a professional interview, as they are currently your superior. You don't want to be timid, but you also don't want to be overpowering. A perfect mix of nobleness and humbleness will do the trick.

7-0-1 Sharks @ 7-0-2 Hawks tomorrow. Should be a good one.

Freedom of Religion also = Freedom from Religion?

The Catholic Church's teachings on this are not much different from what you are saying. What is different is the views of a faction of Catholics that I tend to agree with. -

Freedom of Religion also = Freedom from Religion?
WindyCitySports replied to OSUViking's topic in Politics, Religion & Science
I already said that it is quite clear that there are sins, and that they result in consequences. What I am saying is that God is merciful. He hates those sins, but He repeats over and over again that you should demonstrate absolute forgiveness. Although He says that non-believers will go to hell, I believe that His statements that you should forgive people absolutely would allow non-believers into Heaven if they asked for forgiveness at the final moment. I know that I sound like a crazy progressive Catholic (even though the Catholic Church has been very anti-homosexuality), but God's words of love, mercy, and forgiveness ring clear in the Bible, and I try to do as much self-interpretation as I can. -

People do not choose to be gay. That is a fact. Also, the "other end of the spectrum" is called the Old Testament, which you yourself said was overridden by many things in the New Testament. God is Merciful, he is Love. If He hated us, He would not have created us. -
I disagreed with the no call, but whatever. It was a fun game and congrats to the Baltimore fans.

This doesn't have much to do with what we are talking about. Obviously, there are sins. They include homosexuality, non-belief, and everything else we have talked about. The discussion has been, though, whether or not God loves sinners and shows mercy to them. It is clear he does, as I have already pointed out. I REFUSE to accept that the God that I have been worshiping all of my life will damn people to hell because they were born gay or born into a non-Christian family. God is merciful, and he loves all of His children, regardless of how far they stray. -

Flat out wrong. And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. John 2:2 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ; by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:4-5 Did you not read these? They make it quite clear that Jesus died for the "sins of the whole world" and that even when we had lost the way, He "made us alive." You are taking a stance that is so rooted in the Old Testament, which was written before Christianity was even born. Everything that the Son of God said made it clear that God shows love toward all people and that anyone can achieve salvation, no matter how far from the path they have strayed. God is Love, not hate or hostility. -

Freedom of Religion also = Freedom from Religion?

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present or the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned, forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. Luke 6:37 And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Ephesians 2:4-5 But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15 We must not be studying the same book, because it is made clear that God is merciful and loves all of His people. He does not wish to destroy them. -

The first amendment makes it a personal decision. No one can legislate their religion on others, nor can anyone stop others from practicing their religion. Anyone who thinks differently isn't seeing it clearly. -
Then, by definition, the current system is just as undemocratic? I don't think that is what the OP was trying to say.

The western coroner of Long Island, which, as small as it looks, is a lot of people. Also, there are a lot in the blue areas; they just aren't the majority. -
The Return of the Randomness Thread....
WindyCitySports replied to Favre4Ever's topic in The Sideline
This needed to be shared, but was too ridiculous to warrant a new thread in Politics and Religion. Enjoy. -
This is actually not as much an attempt at hijacking democracy as it is an infringement on republicanism (small 'r'). If we had done it this way from the beginning, you wouldn't think twice about it, and it would still be democratic (small 'd'). However, since we are indeed a democratic REPUBLIC, we have always put an emphasis on individual states, and this is actually taking away the state aspect. Also, it is very partisan. Perhaps the GOP should focus more on changing their message, especially on social issues, to win these states back than trying to rig the system.

Interesting. I was actually more accurate than I thought I would be, considering that their maps were backed by more data. The exception, of course, Nebraska, but as you can see, it is a bit of a clusterfuck there, so I guess it makes sense that I didn't really know.
