Basically just a thread to garner the interest we'd have for the tourney. If you'd like to participate please express so here. I'll probably just be running the competeition this year, as I doubt I'll have the time to properly participate. So there's a good chance I won't be going back to back I'd like to get at least 8 participants, preferably more. Once that is done, everyone will be required to make a seeding sig, which will be voted on in the forums to determine the seeding structure for the tourney. The only question I do have is, would you prefer a single-knockout style tournament across two brackets or a round-robin style format?

Ideally I'd like to start it within the next week. Since we have to get everyone's seeding sigs in, and then have them voted on first.

PFF's biggest problem with shit like this is that they try too hard to look smart in their own unique way. And it usually ends up backfiring...

Lmao...I can understand trying to prove your manhood and whatnot, but this is pretty stupid. It doesn't take much to get very seriously hurt in that "sport".

Henne could be an effective game manager given time. But he doesn't seem like the kind of QB that can carry you to the playoffs, without a certain degree of help from his receivers and running game.

I think losing the weight is a good idea, if he's going to be in the two-point stance. It's a lot easier to block a 6'6" guy coming out of a two-point stance than it is to block a 6'2" or even a 6'4" guy, simply because of leverage. Losing that weight will give him a quicker burst out of the standup position, which will provide an advantage against the more agile tackles in the league. He probably doesn't need to lose 15-20 pounds though...5-10 would be more ideal.

Alright we have 10 people signed up, and 6 votes for round robin vs 4 votes for single elimination. So as it stands, it looks like we'll have 2 brackets of 5 participants each. Everyone will go up against every other member in their bracket once. 2 points will be awarded for a victory, and 1 point for a tie. Polls will be open for 48hrs and there will be no tie-breakers in this stage of the competition. At the end of the round robin stage, the 2 members in each bracket with the most points will advance to the elimination stage of the tourney. Seed 1 will go up against Seed 2 in each bracket, with the winner advancing to the championship round. In the elimination stage, polls will stay open until a clear winner is established. If you have any questions, or suggestions for change, please say so now.
