FUCK YOU OZZIE NEWSOME!

Even with Locker's "accuracy problems" he probably could still put up a 60%+ completion rate on Houston's secondary! It pains me to say this now that he's the enemy, but I do think Locker is gonna be a good one.

Here are five picks that I really liked... (I leave out Houston's pick for homerism reasons) Marcell Dareus Aldon Smith Mike Pouncey Prince Amukamara Gabe Carimi
-
Nailed the Top 5 for 15 points, but would I really only get half for nailing the Jimmy Smith to the Ravens pick since they waited and took him one spot later? I guess I'm either getting 28 or 41 points depending on how Razor rules it.

I will be frickin' ecstatic if the Texans can land either Ayers or Reed in the second round. Here are my awards/fails for the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft... Greatest Value: Prince Amukamara to the Giants Biggest Reach: Christian Ponder to the Vikings @ #12 overall The Perfect Fit: Gabe Carimi to the Bears A Questionable Fit: Corey Liuget to the Chargers

Ted Larsen rescues 3 teens in Gulf of Mexico
FartWaffles replied to AllYouNeedIsLovie's topic in NFC
With all of these stabbing stories as of late, it's nice to hear a story like this. I applaud you Ted Larsen. -
I prefer NFL Network, but I do switch over to ESPN every now and then.

1. Josh McDaniels is no longer with the Broncos. 2. I can positively say the Texans will not trade up for Amukamara. I would bet my life on it. 3. Mike Shanahan has never drafted a running back in the first round, and that isn't going to change. He's so confident in his zone-blocking scheme that he can plug in any RB and they'll be successful. 4. Browns are switching to a 4-3. Watt can play in a 4-3, but I believe they'd have Quinn ranked higher. 5. Like JD said earlier, there are much more pressing needs than a nose tackle for the Packers. 6. Somebody would likely trade for Julio Jones before he falls to the Rams at #14. (I'd guess the Falcons)

Going to be a late round pick. No clue what teams really need a fullback since they're a dying breed. I'm interested in what people think of Casey Matthews.

My friend's dad became a Texans season ticket holder not too long ago, so he has some spare tickets for their "Draft Party" that they annually have at Reliant Stadium. Needless to say I'll be attending, so I'll have to get back to you guys with my opinions on how the draft unfolds after I get back home. http://www.houstontexans.com/fan-zone/draft-party.html

I'm glad they're ditching the red helmets and going back to their classic white.

What will be the shocker in the top 10?
FartWaffles replied to AllYouNeedIsLovie's topic in NFL Draft
It's his arm strength, questionable deep ball accuracy, and his body size doesn't really translate that well for taking hits from NFL d-linemen. I'd say he's more the Colt McCoy of this draft class. Also the consensus is that he's going to have to be drafted only by a WCO team, so that hurts his stock as well. --------------------------------------------------------------- Top 10 shocker will be that either Cameron Jordan or J.J. Watt will be drafted there. -
Well obviously he's not going to be perfect. That's what coaching is for! I think the media is blowing up Peterson's weight way out of proportion. He's going to be a cornerback, and a damn good one to top it off. His struggles when giving a cushion can be fixed with proper coaching.
-
I think Amukamara is going to be a solid cornerback, but I personally don't think he's worth a Top 15 pick.

Everyone makes mistakes in the draft, but Parcells had a pretty damn good track record for the most part.

And Your Madden 2012 Cover Athlete Is...

I'm sure there's a little bias in my thinking, but I've got to agree with Razor on this. If we're talking about the running game as a whole (including offensive linemen) I would say the Texans have the best running game. If we're just talking running backs, it'd be a tossup between Jones-Drew and Chris Johnson.

I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to Blaine Gabbert. Personally I think Gabbert's potential far outweighs his risks. If he lands with the 49ers or Redskins and has either Jim Harbaugh or Mike Shanahan respectively developing his skills, I think he can become a franchise quarterback in time. He's more than capable of making all of the NFL throws, and he appears to have a good head on his shoulders. Plus he's got nice mobility as well, and he's smart enough to translate from the spread to a pro-style offense IMO. If I were a team in need of drafting a quarterback this year I'm taking Gabbert over any other quarterback in this draft class, and it's not even close.

Texans want to trade up for Von Miller or Patrick Peterson
FartWaffles replied to BLUE's topic in AFC
Per Rotoworld: Now I'm almost convinced that this is a smokescreen set by Rick Smith. He's one of the most secretive GMs in the league when it comes to his draft day plans, so I feel you've got to take what he says with a grain of salt. I'm sure if the opportunity presents itself they could trade up to grab someone like Von Miller or Patrick Peterson, but I'm guessing the draft would have to fall in an unusual way for that situation to arise. Plus in the Houston Chronicle article he mentions trading back is an option as well. Rick Smith is well known for purposely giving out contradicting information to the media. -
Texans want to trade up for Von Miller or Patrick Peterson
FartWaffles replied to BLUE's topic in AFC
I personally don't think the Texans are going to trade up. While I would love to see Von Miller or Patrick Peterson in a Texans uniform, they just don't have the luxury of losing draft picks when they're transitioning to a 3-4 defense. I believe the Texans trading down is a lot more believable of a scenario. -
First thing that came to my mind when I read this report...

Haha! I'll believe it when I see it.

Seconded. Also Vikingfan465 and BlueKoolaid.
