Brees sent an email to the Saints players saying the deal will be done Monday, among some other things like free agency starting Tuesday with no time alloted for teams to sign their own FA's first Don't know how true this is

What Game Are You Currently Playing?

I was playing Borderlands on the 360 but for some reason my level 28 person got erased and have to start over. Am about to play Lego Indy Jones with the 6yr old. She just likes to run around the areas already opened up.

Packer fan runs over Mark Ingram

http://blog.al.com/breaking/2011/07/truck_driver_in_mark_ingram_ca.html Just happy noone was injured. And of the course the Packer fan didn't do it on purpose, it was Ingrams fault. But the truck driver's response was great Can't wait for the first game
  5. So this started when Kluwe called Manning,Brees,Jackson and Mankins D-Bags for supposedly making a power play on the CBA. Greatest NBA center of all time?

Most people are putting Wilt ahead of Shaq in their polls, as they should, Wilt could dominate a game like no other center could except when he played Kareem. And I know most people didn't get to see Kareem play in his prime when he was with the Bucks. Kareem could have made teams look in a different direction than Shaq if Shaq was on their team. Most people remember Kareem when he was on the Lakers in the early 80's with that sky hook (which by the way no other center has tried to duplicate) that was pretty much unstoppable. But he could shut down other teams center in his prime. Maybe it should be Lew Alcindor could shut down Shaq instead of Kareem but it is the same person regardless.

Greatest NBA center of all time?

Why? Kareem defended Wilt pretty good and used to give him fits. Now Kareem towards the end of his career, no, probably couldn't have defended Shaq, but Kareem in his prime would have shut down Shaq enough to make him a non-factor in most games.

Considering how many screen passes and quick slants are thrown in todays game, yeh 20 yards is probably considered deep.

Report: Bowers has 50-50 shot at long career

I just hate seeing him against the Saints twice a year for 4-6 years if thats all hes got. I do hope he has a long career ahead of him and a good career to shove back in everyones face that passed up on him. He was supposed to be a top 5 pick and possible number 1 overall, and to think he fell as far as he did he is going to have a chip on his shoulder.

Brandt: Mark Ingram is a top draft steal

They do. They have a great QB, two of the best guards in football, they have the recievers(granted none of them are on par with Irvin) and TE Jimmy Graham is going to be a stud(tho he isn't Novachek). The tackles are good enough to run block. It's more of do they have the coach who is willing to run the ball enough times. But with the injuries the Saints have had at RB I just hope he can stay healthy like Emmit for a full year.

Brandt: Mark Ingram is a top draft steal

We only gave up one 1st for him. A first next year and the second round pick of this draft.
  18. Now what I mean by impacted is the fact the QB class in this years draft has been labeled as weak. 2 QB's are definately going in the first round but since their is no CBA there might be as many as five more teams trying to move back into the first round to draft a QB that doesn't warrent a first round grade but might not be there when they pick in the second round. These 5 QB's are already on a roster and would have been trade bait to one of these teams in need of a QB. They could have been traded and these respective teams could then concentrate on other needs in the draft instead of risking on a QB who might or might not pan out. Case in point, The New Orleans Saints. The Saints were going into the 2006 draft in need of a QB. Many after the year was over thought they would be drafting Matt Leinert of USC. Instead the Saints signed Drew Brees out of free agency and drafted RB Reggie Bush. With that in mind here is my list of QB's that could have impacted this years draft in terms of how they drafted if they could have traded for one of these QB's. 5. Carson Palmer - Palmer comes in at 5 because just about everyone knows he will not be with the Bengals this year. He has publicly said he wants to be traded or he will retire. The Bengals on draft day could have easily traded Palmer for a least some more picks or even traded him to the Panthers for the 1st pick and drafted Cam Newton. More likly they would have used him in some kind of deal to trade into position to try and get the QB they want. 4. Vince Young - The Titans have said VY won't be back. Then their coach left and the new coach says Young still won't be back. Yet he is still on the roster for some reason. I can only think that the Titans front office was hoping the labor dispute would be over with and they could have traded to move up and get their guy (much like the Bengals) or maybe even try to get some klind of compensation for him in this draft. Before we move on to the top 3, some words about 4 and 5. I don't think either of these QB's can really do much more than hold the spot down until someone else comes along and moves them over. Both QB's have their issue's whether it be immaturity or too scared their knee is going to get blown out again. Both are servicable for the forseeable future however. 3. Donovan McNabb - It's apparent Mike Shannahan doesn't care for him, niether does the OC of the Redskins. They could have easily traded him to someone like the Vikings or the Cardinals taking away those teams need for a QB and allowing one of the QB's that Washington wants to drop to them. It could have also maybe gotten them some more picks to either package together and move up for their guy or address other needs on the roster. 2. Kyle Orton - Acctually this could also be Tim Tebow if you think about it. Elway doesn't want Tebow and could use Orton to groom his new QB. But Orton wants to start somewhere and like McNabb he could have easily gone to the Vikings or the Cardinals and made both teams better. Orton is as good as the talent around him. It wasn't his fault that Josh McDaniels traded away all of his talent. Both the Vikes and the Cards have talent that Orton could work with and let both teams concentrate on other needs that they have. 1. Kevin Kolb - Someone will give up a 1st rounder for this guy. I don't know why but they will. He has shown flashes but not really that much consistency. But everyone seems high enough on him that someone would gladly trade a 1st round pick for him. Fitz wants him in Arizona and I am sure the 49'ers wouldn't mind having him. Miami could even trade for him if they think he can be a starter (ala A.J. Feeley) Regardless Kolb wants to start somewhere and the Eagles would be able to move up and get a star DT or DE or even a LB if they could trade him. These are my 5 that could have impacted the draft in some way shape or form had we had a CBA in place by now. Feel free to criticize or flame away if you want too. Am curiouse as to what you think or who you might choose instead.

Record 25 draft prospects to attend NFL draft

So they can party with the NFLPA on day one and actually go to the draft on day two to hear their names called
  20. I can agree with that, most of the people on the list I have never heard of. I do recognize alot of the 80's hair metal bands guitarists tho. And while alot of them sounded the same there are a few who had a different sound and creative style than the others. Most of them tried to sound like Eddie Van Halen and copy his style. But then you had guys like Slash and "dare I say it" C.C. Deville who sounded different and were more creative at that time. Only difference between those 2 is Slash continued to grow and mature as a guitarist and get more creative while C.C. regressed and stayed stagnant. Kind of like Ace from Kiss. Started out great but never grew and stayed the same.
  21. Maybe I missed it, but not one mention of Les Paul? Who without about 99% of these guys would have never been able to play a guitar?

    Lions high on Jimmy Smith

He hasn't had any known issues since 2007, unless you count skipping the senior bowl and firing his agent. He took on a leadership role with his team his senior season. I think he is past his problem "issues" as they all happened when he was younger and more immature. He has seemed to have grown up and learned his lesson after his incident. So I am having a hard time buying into character issues tagged on someone who appears to have turned himself around after a rocky start. Granted this is the NFL Draft and if you were caught masterbating in your closet as a freshman then they are going to know about it and label you with character issues 4 years later. I say give the kid a break cause he could turn into one of the best corners or maybe even a safety in this draft. All the GMs that have talked to him that I have read about seem to like him and his personality.
