this backfield is only "shaky" because TC23 doesn't get any carries...

just finished The Long Walk by Stephen King writing as Richard Bachman. Awesome book. Read it. Now I'm working on a collection of horror tales as well as my usual summer read-through of the Harry Potter series. On book 1. It's how I get through working so much. I read that in my downtime to make sure I can keep working like crazy.

Some good songs, dude. No worries. This is just a country thread. It doesn't have to be lesser known country. Anyway, the format of this thread is comment on the prior poster's song and then post your own. It's a lot of fun. Country Must be Country Wide by Brantley Gilbert

Good tune about how difficult it is to be with a girl if you don't agree in any way on one of the most basic things: music. The Man I Want to Be by Chris Young

False. Especially when it comes to defense. In basketball, you can help a weak defender fairly easily on the current play. In football, everyone has their own gap or zone to control. If you can't find a way to help the weak link, your defense gets torched. This whole idea that basketball is anything but a team game is hilarious.

I would greatly enjoy an awkward turtle emoticon. I just have no idea what to use for it. Personally, I like this image.

Has Dwyane Wade always been this big of a bitch when it comes to officiating? He was whining about fouls that didn't even happen last night. I can't believe he didn't get a T. They better T him up in Dallas, if this continues.

Disregard my prior post. And I'm so damn happy to say that!

Dallas will be lucky to win one game in this series. They are cooked. Carlisle is making some of the worst coaching decisions I've ever seen (they're quite convenient for Miami, actually) and they just can't play with Miami. This series will be over in 4.

Hakeem was the only center who could defend Shaq. He's better.

Ok, so I admit I read the articles on the Cowboys' website. I like to read the questions that are posted to the writers as well, because they're always really good or really really bad. I stumbled across two hilariously bad questions today. I mean, even the Cowboy writers can be dumb sometimes, but look at this shit. AD - SAN ANTONIO, TX: Miles Austin went to the Pro Bowl last year, but didn't have the same impact as in 2009, even with many more opportunities. Do we still know for sure that he wasn't a one-year wonder? Nick: Perhaps you call him something else, but one-year wonder doesn't apply if you're a two-time Pro Bowler. I know he was an alternate, but he made it. He's still one of the top receivers in the game, according to his Pro Bowl status, and even by his peers, who voted him at the 71st player in the NFL. Now, I get what you're saying but I don't think the jury is still out on him. I think we know he's a really good player and he seems to be a better fit with Tony Romo than Jon Kitna. But if Dez Bryant emerges as the eventual No. 1 receiver, I think it will make Austin an even bigger threat. Rob: Austin might never duplicate those ridiculous 2009 numbers. That's a high bar. He did have a 1,000-yard season in 2010 and made some big plays, but there's no doubt he had too many drops. I still think he's good enough to be a No. 1 option and I expect his numbers to increase with Tony Romo healthy. There were two differences from '09 to '10: Dez Bryant provided another big-play option that was lacking the year before, and Jason Witten became a focal point for Jon Kitna because defenses really tried to take away Austin downfield. DJ - ATLANTA, GA: Why can't the Cowboys move Marc Colombo inside to guard, where they still have some level of need? That would eliminate his difficulties playing in space, would it not? Nick: Maybe that works if you're talking about a guy that has been around the league one or two years. At his age, he's not changing positions. He's either retiring or he'll find a place that he can play and start. I just don't see Colombo trying to make that switch. Plus, he really doesn't have the body type for it. I don't know if I've seen many 6-8 guards, other than maybe Magic Johnson or Penny Hardaway. Rob: Ten-year veterans don't change positions very often. Besides, Colombo is not built like a guard. At 6-8, he's sort of a thin 320-pounder, if there is such a thing. He's a tackle, and has been a very good one for a lot of years. He should stay at tackle until he retires.

At times I hated Shaq because of all the offensive fouls he got away with, but at the end of the day, this is an all-time great center who only Olajuwon could defend. I'm going to miss watching him play.

Garnett, as far as careers go, is currently better than LeBron. There's a bigtime argument for either side in the Duncan vs. Garnett argument, but none of you bitched when someone else said Duncan was better than Bron. Stop bitching about my stating that Garnett is as well.

Well see, Dallas is one of the teams that's gone the longest without playing any kind of football, so they best get back in gear...

I believe. There are too many weird things that happen in our world. To think that we are alone is absurd. I sure hope I never live in a house or apartment that is haunted because I would go batshit crazy. That kinda stuff freaks me the hell out.

Garnett>LeBron (oh, and Garnett>Duncan) Barkley>LeBron The list goes on...he can possibly top most of them, but his chances are way down, considering the other 2 studs on his team now. Bosh has been playing phenomenally lately.

Drew Brees: Owners saw Gene Upshaw’s death as an opportunity
BwareDWare94 replied to BLUE's topic in NFC
This is true. Wouldn't it be great if lower salaried players represented the Union and could agree to a feasible new CBA? A CBA that would actually make it impossible for big name players to land ridiculous contracts. I think it'd hilarious, yet completely realistic. I'd love to see that happen. It won't, but it'd be awesome. -
