Drew Brees: Owners saw Gene Upshaw’s death as an opportunity
BwareDWare94 replied to BLUE's topic in NFC
I dislike Brees as much as anyone else, but this has some credence. Money rules this world. Morality barely exists anymore, so for all these owners, whose world is completely defined by money, this would be a very logical reaction to the guy's death. Seriously, do you think these guys are more concerned with their morals than their money? I don't. The players are asking for the same deal, which benefited them greatly. Compromise needs to be met. The new CBA needs to offer more post-retirement coverage and the players need to accept lower average salaries. Because honestly, NONE of them are worth their paycheck. -
This is the guy who supported Arena Football...

Miami, but I sure hope Dallas pulls the upset.

Miami in 4. I hate that prediction, but I think that's the way it'll be.

Just to forewarn posters. If you post Dane Cook as a favorite, you will be negged.

Dude...you're making me hate you! You have to tell me how Jamey and Brantley perform...

Police Tell Warrick Dunn He Looks Like “Guns & Drugs Runner
BwareDWare94 replied to BLUE's topic in General NFL Talk
He might not be one, but if he was dressed as a lot of them tend to be, and has very tinted windows, then this has nothing to do with race... Granted, I have no idea how drugs and gun runners dress, I'm sure there's a general look. Maybe he was in the wrong getup. -
LeBron will be the greatest small forward who ever played the game. More like point forward, though. He's an enigma. He has no true position. He can play any of them, including center. He's a completely unique athlete. That's what makes him as great as he is. He will be the second best player of all time, in my book. I might hate what he did to Cleveland, but denying his talent would be foolish. Jordan is his own class, but I really think we need to go generation by generation. Jordan is the greatest of his generation. Kobe, as of right now, is the greatest of this generation. If LeBron can pile up 5 rings (and Kobe will probably get at least one more before he retires), he'll be in the discussion. There really is nothing to debate on right here. These two would have had to play during the same era. Jordan entered the league when defense didn't exist. LeBron is in an NBA where defense is a hot commodity. The game has changed so much. Also, we need to factor in that LeBron is 6'8 or 9 and Jordan and Kobe struggle to reach 6'6. When it comes to the ability to defend any position, LeBron has physical gifts that the other two don't have, and we CANNOT hold that against them.

This truly is the lesser of two evils...it'd be like a Saints/Patriots Super Bowl. Fuck this. Go Dallas. I never want LeBron to win a title.

Happy Birthday!

That's true, but how many times were they mauled on those shots with no call? Dirk gets a whistle if you brush him on a shot a attempt. It's stupid.
-
But the officiating played a major role in last night's loss. Durant was getting mauled with no whistle and Dirk gets a call if Collison is too close to him. Durant and Westbrook need to bitch more to officials. I don't really want to see it, being a fan of the game when it's played without drama queens, but if they need to do that to get calls, I'd rather see fairly officiated games.

Guys, hang out a second. Do you realize he wants to sign with a team in the UFL?
-
It must be a Miami thing. Or a Florida thing, hell. I guess if those people are dumb enough to live in that hot and humid on-earth section of Hell, they must be stupid enough to taunt people who could whip their asses.

Rate the one above you and post another. I'll get us started.

Eh. He's almost always right, so he has every right to send those Heat fans bird-watching.

Best QB in Texas: Schaub or Romo?
BwareDWare94 replied to AllYouNeedIsLovie's topic in General NFL Talk
Schaub still hasn't led a team to the playoffs, nor has he led the the team to a better record than either 9-7 or 8-8. This isn't even a difficult decision. I understand that some of you think he's better, but I think you're just buying in to the media hate for Romo, though he's never done anything questionable off the field and is often wrongly blamed for what happens on the field. Romo is better, as of right now. There's no question. -
Anybody watch Chad Greenway these last few years? He's definitely in the upper tier with Matthews, Kevin Williams, Briggs, and Peppers.
-
Going with Suh and Fairley as far as "we know they'll be fucking good," but DRC and Peterson is the definite sleeper of this group.
-
Jamey doesn't have any bad songs, but this is his most mainstream, so here's the winner.

Congrats, dude. Ain't nothing worth doing if it's not something you love.
