Alright well I'm not much into the atmosphere of the gaming culture as some you guys, but what is Titanfall? I've only heard a few things about it, that it was made buy a company that used to make Call of Duty or something, and it was more robotic.. I'd never heard anything about it being a revolutionary game of sorts, and I was never going to even consider buying it. Could someone just sum up what was the general expectation for this game and why FFE hates it so much lol.

NOTE: I'm simply asking if we have the money to sign a Jairus Byrd, TJ Ward, or something. Trying hard not to get my hopes up cuz nothing will probably happen. I'd even be surprised to see our name thrown in with discussions of possibilities..

$10m a year for Sam Shields. Holy waste of money. He's good but not that good. Looks like another offseason of securing our good players (good) with the sacrifice of addressing our weak spots (bad). This puts us at what, $24M left to spend for the 2014 season? That includes the Jordy Nelson/Randall Cobb extensions and if they both happen this offseason, what are we looking at, $5m left to secure a playmaker on defense? Good work Thompson. I'm glad we could actually fix our problems this year. Unless we cut Tramon or he takes a paycut which will alleviate $7.5m (but then we STILL have to sign a good player) there is nothing standing in our way from another year of mediocre/below average defense. /end mini rant rotoworld: Idk why my formatting is all screwed up.. Edit- Would be lovely if somebody could show me how this contract for Shields puts us in a good position. I'm not gonna say he is a bad player, he's a good one. But this is elite player money that he doesn't deserve.

On the topic of Sam Shields I read a report today saying that Shields will not be as big of a loss as everyone is expecting. I'm going to work right now but I'll try to find it and post a link, it's rather interesting as far as another opinion goes.

Well if we're not signing him then I sincerely hope that those reports that he only wanted about 6M per year were completely off base. If Thompson won't sign this guy for what I believe was $5.6M for 4 years and $22.4M total... holy shit why does he have a job. The only logical conclusion I can come up with is he thinks that Williams, Hayward, and Hyde (and House, lol) will be alright as our cornerbacks and we're gonna blow the door open and go full on attack mode at Jairus Byrd to solidify our secondary. That's the ONLY way I would see this as acceptable. Of course, unless Shields was demanding a lot more than the reports said. Then it's understandable.

Unless the dudes are hardcore "win-now" mentality, they won't give a shit because we're not targeting major offensive free agents (idk if we're targeting any major free agents at all, probably just depth guys or POSSIBLE starters). They'll be defensive guys, who won't be playing with Rodgers they'll just be on the same team as him.

I'm under the impression that both players are to blame some what. Incognito obviously crossed the line a few times with Martin but Martin's got some issues, clearly, that make it so the kind of friendship they were obviously in was not entirely beneficial for him. I have no doubt in my mind that Incognito thought of Martin as a friend, after reading the texts that Trident said. That being said nobody can just come out and say "Martin is a fucking pussy" because obviously he has some issues that he can't resolve on his own.

What I'd like to know is what Brad Jones did to get that contract. Williams had an awesome year and even though he hasn't played up to it all hte way, you can see what he did originally to deserve it. Jones did nothing... and has never done anything and we're paying him like he has done something lol.

I could say the same about Allen. Both starting receivers went down and he carried the passing game for most of the year. We almost certainly miss the playoffs without him. No other rookie played as well as Allen and had the same impact on their team as Allen. Nobody. Think what I would like to say is that Allen had a good cast around him. That doesn't diminish what he did, but makes it a more achievable milestone. Lacy had nobody around him for a long while that Rodgers was gone. We may have went 2-5-1 during that time but he still put up great numbers and kept us in games. The 2 wins were basically because of him anyways and if McCarthy wasn't dumb as shit, could be 3-5, and then if Lacy didn't get hurt and leave early against Pittsburgh, could be 4-4 during that time. We were on Pittsburgh's 10 yard line or something for the final play, having gone that far w/o Lacy. if we had him in the lineup, I'd say there's a good chance we weren't the last ones with the ball and Pittsburgh's the ones who have to try to score at the end. Our WR were useless during that time, our QBs were awful until the mediocre Flynn came into kind of control things for a short while, and our OL has never been great but they played their usual average selves. Also our defense was starting their huge decline when Rodgers went down too. That being said I definitely think Lacy should have won it, but Idk about the vote being that far off than it ended up being. That's a big gap.

What I don't get is what is the harm in bringing him to a team, having the docs run some tests, and if they're 100% sure like he is that he can play, why not let him try? Obviously it's risky but all injuries risk reinjury. I don't want him to risk it unless he and all the doctors think he's okay, which is probably doubtful, but I guess what I don't understand is why there isn't any interest in "Hey let's see if it can work out". He was an All Star... And oh my god lol

It's a real shitty situation. Collins probably shouldn't play ever again for his own safety. We probably won't give him a chance because of that reason. That being said, Collins at 50% is still better than any of the safeties we have at 100%. It's really hard not to want him back right now.

Also Heath Evans is not a good analyst nor is he a reliable source his reports should be banned from TGP.

Doesn't really matter where he goes, I'm under the impression this injury will render him nearly ineffective as a starting TE. Doubt he stays here though he's gonna want a ton of money, hit FA, realize he isn't gonna get it, then crawl to some team and get hurt halfway through the season. For the Packers I hope we re-sign Quarless I bet we could get him cheap. Hasn't seen enough action for other teams to want to throw some money at him, but we've seen he can at least be a decent starter.

Anybody willing to play defense. Would love TJ Ward or Jairus Byrd as previously stated. A bonus effect would be that with that extra help over the back end (which been nonexistent since Collins left), WR's going deep would be left open less, and Burnett (who'd move back to SS i bet) would be more easily utilized in a Charles Woodson role, which we desperately need on this D. The dude can tackle and he's a ballhawk but he blows his cover far too often. It's a recurring theme in the back end defensively. Our CB's are left out there to die and look like fools. Idk if we need to sign a OL besides our own. Bulaga is coming back and so is Sherrod. We know we get Pro Bowl potential from Bulaga when he's healthy, and Sherrod might be good as well. Our entire OL cast last year proved they all get decent looks at a starting job because it wasn't until late in the year they started to crumble, and that was with some real young guys (1 first year and 2 2nd year starters). Would be nice but I'd take signing one of the safeties over anything else. And early reports i'm hearing is we're not willing to deal too much money to Shields. If this is in attempt to seriously go after Byrd or Ward, I'm game but if not might be a huge mistake. Queue massive contract for both John Kuhn and James Jones while our defense falls further into the abyss.

Big hit for the Bears as he's a good CB still but it's for their future. Definitely can't pay a 33 yr old that money considering he's coming off IR and who knows how he'll do next year.

Unfortunately I'm involved in complicated case at the current time. Like Sarge and Phail, it's easy to tell when a girl isn't interested. But when I try to cut ties cuz "whatever, it ain't happening" or something of the sort, when she comes complaining that I fucked off, it sends mixed messages and is quite annoying. This is a specific situation btw, so idk if I'm going a bit off topic... had a few margaritas tonight so I am sorry Bware if I'm hijacking your thread but it's somewhat related and hey it may provide some insight? I got a friend who I'm genuinely interested in and I've expressed interest previously, yet she's not interested in anything serious. That's fine, that's fine... I'd consider her just a friend then.. But when I try to lower myself to "friend level" as I'd say, and ask her to hang out, go to bars or house parties (yeah I'm in college haha) it's always "No, sorry, got other plans" this isn't just a few times it's almost every time. So then, after a while I decide that whatever she just doesn't care to be friends. Fine, so I try to remove myself from the friendly relationship because I figure if she don't wanna hang out ever then she don't wanna be friends; but no, next week I get into a heated discussion of why I'm not contacting her anymore. I guess I'm just stuck right now. I don't want to hurt any feelings from anyone ever but I'm getting really mixed messages here. I feel like she just wants me to put out as a friend, but isn't willing to do the same because she has friends she values much higher than myself. If you want something specific: One of her friends when "missing" one night, and she called me at 5AM to come over because she was frightened. I might have overreacted cuz of the time but I was thinking "this person is in a ditch dead somewhere" haha... I drove over there and got there, sat, comforted and talked then drove her around town looking for places he could be. We never found him but he called her eventually (so everything was okay). Again, had a few to drink so sorry if it isn't clear. But if it is, any ideas of what's going on or suggestions for what to do? I'm absolutely horrible at relationships at any level whether it's friends or significant others or family, so I'm just in a pickle with this one. And sorry again Bware if this doesn't relate to your topic enough but when I was reading it this is all I could think about so I'm sure it does haha.
