    2014: Your Team Awards

Offensive MVP: Jamaal Charles/Travis Kelce-I hate doing co-MVP, but I felt like I had to. Charles didn't have a normal beast year, and if not for Kelce there would have been zero passing game to speak of. Kudos to the kid. Defensive MVP:Justin Houston - obvious choices are obvious. I think he just got another sack while I was typing this. Most improved: Knile Davis- It's mostly just due to getting playing time, but the way he ran this year was nothing short of impressive. Sophomore stunner right there. Biggest disappointment:Dwayne Bowe- this one isn't even close for me, consisting I expected nothing from Eric Fisher and got exactly that. Bowe went from underrated over achiever to overrated under achiever with one pen stroke. Love the guy, but he's not earning that contact. Best newcomer: Hussein Abdullah - the guy just flat out stepped up. The secondary was supposed to be a glaring weakness, and thanks in large part to this guy it held up nicely for the most part. Most overrated:Alex Smith - I like the guy. I really do, and I applaud his effort. The fact is though that his glaring weaknesses are at this point seemingly insurmountable. Chase Daniel made me sad by playing so much more effectively in that SD game. He didn't do anything special, and still the offense just looked better worth him in the game. I'm not saying Chase for pres or anything. I'm just saying smh at Smith's contract. Most underrated: Sean Smith - with his lunch pail persona and the emergence of others, Smith has been lately forgotten. While he's no all pro, he's very solid. He gets burned sometimes, but almost everyone does. Just showing a forgotten starter some love. ROY: DeAnthony Thomas - It took a minute, but he showed me enough to be happy with the pick. His touches were limited, but his all purpose skill set can't be denied. He's lightning in a bottle, and he can find ways to keep the chains moving too.

    2014 AP All Pro

Justin Houston FTW. If not for Watt being an absolute animal, he might have a good case for dpoty. Too bad Favre couldn't come in for one snap at the end of the SD game to fall over and give him the sack record. lol

2014 Predict the fired head coaches

I'd still venture to say that Rex IS an energizing hire. The shine wore off in N.Y., but that's because the jig was up by the end and he new it. Everyone did. When he was out there taking shits on everyone in the media though, that was a good team largely because of what he did with that organization. Bring him in, hold the press conference announcing him, and tell him to go full Rex. Take a couple shots at those "tough guy" crybabies in the N.Y. media, throw a jab at the jets, and watch the fireworks. He knOws how to fuel the hype machine, and he's also actually good at what he does for a living.

State of your team as it stands today.

They can't be TOO afraid of turning the ball over. They do it every week. Has RawBrotels even had a game without a pick this year? Anyway, on to the Chiefs. Currently they have had scratch worthy bookend losses, but otherwise they've looked surprisingly great. I thought that work the injuries they suffered early and often, I did not expect them to be playing like they have this year. I did say before the season started that losing the bad offensive linemen wasn't going to hurt them much if at all, and that projection was right on. The running game has been even better than expected with a productive Davis in the mix. Charles does what he does, and the run blocking has been above average. Smith had made me a believer as well. He's definitely limited in that he just doesn't go deep, but his athleticism and mobility are highly overlooked qualities. He stays cool under pressure, he's one of the toughest QB's in the league, and he's an accurate passer. With no WR help, it's impressive what he does. Losing Berry for the rest of the year doesn't seem good, but they actually looked better without him this year. Still, the kid is a real deal stud. It's never good to lose a guy like that. I'm more concerned with him as a person right now though than as a player. Melanoma is some serious shit. Prayers and best wishes go out to him and his family. Poe is just a monster. So are Houston and Hali. Cutting Flowers was a GREAT move. The secondary has been incredible all year. Abdullah had been an out of nowhere surprise. The defense is absolutely a huge part off their success, as is the running game. All hail the coaching staff. They've created an old school smash mouthed football team that's won some very tough games. Sunday night against Denver will tell us a lot more about the state of the team right now, but either way, they look like a playoff team. Kudos Chiefs.

    Happy BDay Durst

Thanks guys! Ran out of rep points lol. I think this is the first time I've gotten one of these threads. Couldn't come from a better group of folks.

2nd Best Team in the AFC?

Agreed. Well get an even clearer picture of things in a couple more weeks when the Broncos come to Arrowhead. That's a HUGE game for the Chiefs, and unlike previous Chiefs teams, this group seems to play best in the biggest moments. The way they beat Seattle was impressive. I can't overstate that.

2nd Best Team in the AFC?

A healthy Gronk definitely adds a whole other dimension to the Pats, but i love that someone OTHER than me is giving some credit to those KC Chiefs. I f that defense keeps playing like they did against Seattle with the two (three?) Headed monster of a rushing attack going downhill off rip and often, they're gonna have a say in how everything shakes out in January and possibly February. I wasn't counting how many first and goals they faced, but it was more than I felt comfortable with considering Wilson and Beastmode were doing what they do. To come out of that game without allowing a runner to get into the end zone all season is a true, valuable accomplishment imo. The hawks played a good game. The Chiefs just played better. That game was very encouraging, and when you add it to their already impressive body of work, this team is finally a real contender, at least currently. Since that unfortunate bed shitting in week one, they've been outstanding.

NFC East Buy or Sell / Over-Under

In the words of Randolph Duke in Trading Places, "Don't just stand there Winston! Get back in there and SELL, SELL, SEEEEEELLLLLL!!!!!" Coughlin is an LOL mixed with an LMAO topped off with FAIL sauce. B/S: Jason Garrett coaching in Dallas for the entirety of his four year contract.

So THIS is what it's come to HUH?!? Game SEVEN?!?! One game to rule them ALL?!?!?!? Last 9 road teams in a WS game seven have lost. That's encouraging... I'm going to be a mess tonight. I'm already going crazy! Less than 7 hours to go!!!! GO ROYALS!!!!!!

    Razor's 2014 RB Rankings

Finally, a list that respects Arian's gangsta. That team's success hinges completely on that defense and Foster. If he's not there, they would have no chance of winning anything.

2nd Best Team in the AFC?

Only reason I'm so one this is because they really are one of the hottest teams out there right now. They seem pretty legit, but I don't blame anyone for not having them firmly at 2. I just feel like with the way the AFC is shaking out this year there's really nothing outside of Denver where you can say, "They're obs the choice." I just get tired of KC getting no love, year in and year out. Someone has to push for them, and it might as well be me.
  13. AL_Royalty

2nd Best Team in the AFC?

Ok, so, still no KC in the conversation? Even after STOMPING your no. 2 and the other two teams lost while KC does the damn thing winning 4 of 5, they aren't mentioned? Really?
  14. AL_Royalty

2nd Best Team in the AFC?

Ok, I'm going to make this short. Baltimore is a paper tiger. Yes, they are indeed a walking skeleton. The problem that I have with them is the same problem that I have with Cincy, but I think Cincy is a better team altogether. When they play inferior competition at home when no one is watching, they just clown on mother fucks. When the pressure is on though, and they have to do against a decent team with expectations on the line, they fold like a paper cup. Facco gonna Flacco, and Dalton gonna Dalton. There are plenty of things that I could go on about, but them's the highlights.
  15. Dude, you very well may be rightabout the topic at hand, but you're just as likely wrong. If they go on a win streak though, and nobody talks about this, it doesn't automatically mean that it didn't happen or that it's just some made up crap. It just means what we already knew: winning trumps everything. Vick killed a SHIT ton of dogs. That's a lot. When he got a shot in Philly though, and he had like the greatest fantasy football season of any player in the history of the game, how many people who drafted him or grabbed him off of waivers was saying, "Oh, I feel terrible having this rotten human being in my line-up. I'm going to have to drop him, because I just can't live with myself otherwise." How many people who DIDN'T do that do you think own dogs? That doesn't mean he was wrongly convicted. It just means that nobody cared anymore because he was playing well and the Eagles were winning. Ray Lewis's MURDER trial magically never happen when he became the player "so full of passion" that everyone loved and sent to the HOF. He was the best and the Ravens were winning. If they start winning, of course no one is going to be like, "yeah, but the wins aren't important because some ignorant fuck in the locker room thinks WIlson isn't black enough." It doesn't mean that there aren't any ignorant fucks in the locker room. It just means that no one cares anymore. The two things are unrelated.

Honestly, so do I. I'm off Tuesday, so then I could watch them close out in game 6. That would be so amazing. On a side note, a friend of mine just told me that he works with Lorenzo Cain's cousin and he's gonna try to score me some stufff..... How cool would THAT be?!?
  17. It sucks to hear this I'm sure, but I'm going to let you guys in on the dirty li'l secret that no one wants to talk about: this shit happens. Every day, every where, every walk of life. Idiocy reigns where the mob mentality thrives. One on one, I'm sure most people would never say something or maybe even think it in an interpersonal setting with the guy, but it's not like this is so appalling and outlandish a rarity. The place that I live is pretty well mixed as far as black, white, gay, and even Asian now, and for the most part no one really has a problem with anyone else based on something as silly as culture or appearance. You get a bunch of beta types in the room with one dumb-ass alpha who's "just trying to be funny" though, and the ignorance rains down like snow in February. Rich, poor, educated or not, this shit goes down. The only difference here is that it's in a national spotlight, so everyone has to be outraged like "this shit would NEVER happen in the enlightened society that I live in." It just comes down to personality differences that end up having to be labeled as something, because no one can just not be compatible without there being some glaring reason. People get lazy and sloppy and say stupid things like this, but it's really not the worst thing I've heard. Hell, it barely reads on the "oh shit" scale. I will say that in my house/car/etc... this sort of thing isn't tolerated, but that's just me. I don't expect everyone to walk the same path that I do though, and this "issue" clearly isn't holding Wilson back professionally or personally, so it's probably more of an issue to the looky-Lous than it really is to Wilson. I grew up in an area where it was commonplace for me to be told that I was "too black." I'm not black at all, but I listen to a lot of hip hop, eat unhealthy foods, shoot hoops, drank cheap malt liquor because it was cheap and strong, and talk with a bit of an accent that can't really be identified, so I caught that shit my whole life. You just let morons be morons and move on.

2nd Best Team in the AFC?

See, that's what I dig about you dude. Even if I don't agree with you, it's hard to fault your logic. I think KC is definitely a top 5 team in the conference, but I get why you don't. That being said, the Browns?!? That's a pill that I just can't swallow. They are much more impressive thus far than I thought that they would be, but that being said, I thought that they were complete dog shit, so the bar to impress was set very low. I still feel that Hoyer has no business being viewed as "the answer" at QB. He's serviceable at times, but he needs flawless play from his receiving core or his garbage. He's capable of making plays, sure, but he's consistently inefficient. That's the mark of a Matt Cassel, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Kyle Orton type of dude. I have zero faith in the dude. He just doesn't have the ability to overcome mistakes or setbacks. As for the rest of the team, there's just not a lot of talent there, and as far as depth goes it's worse than last season's Chiefs. Living in Browns country, I hear all the Nazi-like propaganda. Watching RawBrotels throw 97 picks last week on a weak Jags team and still get the W pretty much sums this team up though. They're going to overachieve, but not to the point of being a threat just yet. I'm really impressed with the coaching staff though. I thought they were a stop-gap band of misfits, but they seem to really have their shit together. Kudos to them.

2nd Best Team in the AFC?

Arrowhead isn't an easy place to play, to be sure, but like Than already said the game was in SD. Still, NE tried to go into Arrowhead in prime time and got Brady benched. Fucking benched! My question is how does KC not get any consideration? They decimated NE, and they just beat the Chargers in a game that they really should have run away with if not for some silly drops. They went out to SF and took the 49ers to the final gun. They beat two of the teams in this poll and have the same amount of losses as the "Super" Chargers. I'm not saying that they're head and shoulders above anyone, but I DO think that it's time people stop using the argument, "Yeah, but they got beat by the Chiefs," and start thinking about going with, "The Chiefs looked really good again against a really good team." Just saying.

Titans plan to start Zach Mettenberger against Texans

A wise decision, Kemosabi. Joey Harrington is the name I always bring up when people start riding the preseason QB hype train. If preseason games counted, that dude would be a household name for good instead of evil. Honestly, I tend to root for the kids in these situations. It's rare that I want to see someone fall flat on their face and bust out of the league, but realistically I just don't see what this kid brings to the table. Yes, he's got a big arm, but all that says to me is that if he works hard, prays every day, and eats his vitamins that his ceiling is around Jay Cutler status. His basement is firmly located around the dungeon that Brodie Croyle's ghost occupies, and his reality is probably somewhere in between the two.

C.J. Spiller done for the season with broken collarbone

Every offseason I have to see some top ten RB lists with Spiller on them because "This is gonna be a big year from him." Then the actual games are played, and it's NOT his year. All we hear is "Oh, well, the Bills gave the ball to Jackson too much, and Spiller got hurt. NEXT year though..." He doesn't miss many games up until now, but it seems he's always got some kind of nagging, lingering thing that keeps him at less than 100. He's kinda turning into the Jake Locker of RBs. It's a very similar tale. He's obviously got talent, but he's done where he's at now, and collarbones have a history of never going away. It's sad really, but there's a really good chance that it's never going to be "his year."

    Cutler called out

Former NFL coach Brian Billick had some unflattering remarks to describe Jay Cutler on Thursday mornings Mike & Mike on ESPN. Im gonna say two terrible words when it comes to Jay Cutler, and I hate to compare him, but Im seeing more and more Jeff George, Billick said. When you go back and look at their numbers obviously Cutler hasnt played quite as long as Jeff George but when you look at the active years Jeff George was a starter the numbers, not only the numbers in terms of touchdown-to-interception, which is almost 1-to-1. You cant play that way in this league. Youve got to be 2-to-1. And the wins, or lack of wins, to go with it. You cannot turn the ball over this way and be thought of as a really great quarterback and think that your team can win like that. Later in the interview, Billick said The good (QBs) at the end of the day have more good plays than bad. They dont cost their team that way on a consistent basis, and thats the concern right now with Jay Cutler. It's a friggin PERFECT comparison, and it's about time. It's so good to see that FINALLY one off these tv flapping heads stops kissing Jay Cutler's ass and calls it like it is. People need to stop making excuses for this guy. I love it.

I know the old saying: "You can't win 'em all..." but what if you can? 1-0 in ALCS so far with more extra inning home run magic. This team is full of surprises, but in a good way. GO ROYALS!!!
