  1. The moral of this story is that in no walk of life is anyone immune from an overzealous, grudge holding decision maker holding their livelihood in the balance. If anyone else does this, it's a non-story. Because Pettine has some strangely harbored resentment toward Johnny, he goes from being named the starter for the remainder of the season to being thrown to clipboard land as the third string QB behind two guys who probably won't even be there next season.

That's just fucking asinine. Pettine has never wanted Johnny anywhere NEAR the field, and this is just more proof of that. Even when someone asks him about something good that Manziel did in a game, his response is always pretty much, "well, yeah, but he still sucks." Going to the bar while your on vacation is far from a punishable offense, but when it comes to this dude, it's damn near a career death sentence? GTFO

  2. This is getting blown way out of proportion. What Greg Hardy did was akin to jaywalking. I don't like the way he handled the situation either but I also don't really care that a special teams coach got called out in front of everybody when one of his units gave a great returner a four lane freeway to the endzone. Aside from that, it's not like Dez Bryant is the person you want calming anybody down. His "passion" likely escalated the situation.

I understand that people are mad and many think that Greg Hardy is guilty without even a semblance of doubt but you can't allow that to turn a mole hill into a mountain. Dallas is downplaying this because it really isn't that big of a deal.

So loading your shit in a completely childish and irresponsible way on a national stage is like Jay walking? I'll bet you if he lined up in the neutral zone and didn't get flagged you'd be pissed off at his unapologetic ass, huh?

    Your value system is strange.

  3. They put teams in there that maybe didn't have the championship resume at that time, site, but there's nothing wrong with that. If bama would have lost to LSU, they'd be on the outside looking in. If LSU would have won, they'd still be there with an impressive win against Bama.

Ohio state being a preseason #1,national champ, and not loading a game most certainly justifies them being in. As it stands now, if they win out against 2 top ten teams and Michigan, they've earned it. On the flip side, if they lose to a STILL undergrad Iowa, that'll be enough propel Iowa in the way it's attacked up now. I think I think Notre Dame being ahead of two undefeated teams is a little silly, but it's a thing that happens. If they won or, there's definitely an argument for them being in. All will be as it should be by the time out matters.

  4. 1a. Tamba Hali- the guy has been one of the best and classiest players to wear the a Chiefs uni in my lifetime of watching football. There's none playing now I'd rather see win... well, except maybe...

1b. Dwayne Bowe- C'mooooooon... Who didn't see this coming? He's one of my all-time favorites, and now he plays on my grandfather's favorite team. If someone other than the Chiefs HAS to win, I'd love for my grandfather to get to see his Browns win, especially if Bowe somehow had a big game.

    3. Eric Berry- He beats cancer in the summer, and now beats up on backs and receivers again like he never got sick. On top of that, this dude is one of the most classy and gracious guys out there on Sundays.

    4. Jared Allen- Obvious reasons are obvious, but still. He's probably the best pass rusher that played for the Chiefs since Derrick Thomas. It would mean that cam gets one, too, but whatever. Small sacrifices. Theven rest of the list, I'll try to leave the Chiefs out of.

    5. J.J. Watt- that kind of dedication deserves to be rewarded. The man is like 3 defenders in one, and he seems to genuinely just love playing football.

    6. Megatron- How can you not wanna see that dude succeed? He stayed on top of his position for, like, ever. It'd be nice to see him experience some team success as well.

    7. Teddy Bridgewater- he was my favorite QB coming out of college that year, and to be honest, I wanted the Chiefs to take him. I knew that fat bbq eating Andy wouldn't do it, but fuck it. I still like the kid.

    8. Phil Dawson- A kicker? You're damn right. This dude was the most exciting thing going on Sundays in northeast Ohio for a long, long time. They never should have let him go. Dummies.

    9. Frank Gore- The ultimate workhorse back that got stuck on a shit team for most of his career and just kept churning out fantastic seasons with no passing game to speak of, Gore deserves a win. At least he got there though.

    10. Steve Smith- another guy that got there once but never won, Smith almost single-handedly beat the Patriots back then. The Panthers feel just short, but it never did put out the fire in this dude. Ultimate competitor. Never stopped overcoming odds.

  5. First off, shame on you Oochy. Getting into role/ref argument with Bware? You clearly know better. All sports should be officiated by non-gender specific robots with no emotion and infallible judgement, because robots are great with the "spirit of the rule." :hiya: Bware. ;)

Anyway, teams should do everything they can to win. If it ain't being called, it ain't a penalty. Not doing things that are allowed in the quest of victory would be like a pitcher giving back called strikes because they're a little bit off the plate. Pick 'em if ya got'em.

  6. At 38,Tom Brady is in the top 5 ranking of every major statistical passing category for a QB. Like, every one. I know we know he's great, but damn. Y/a, y/gm, TD%, int%,quarterback rating, that qbr thingy, total TD, total yards... fucking everything, and apart from Gronk-who's about unguardable-he's throwing the ball to a QB from Kent State and Danny Amendola. Again, he's 38. Anyone saying somebody else should be considered for the MVP award right now is probably a little crazy.

  7. Steelers gonna be alright, errrr, as alright as they were before he went down. D-Will is gonna hold down the fort-and bolster my gangsta ass fantasy team-for the rest of the season. Sucks for Bell, but it's a win for me. B)

  8. Matt Leinart is a salty cunt

Dude had ample opportunity to sho what he could do for the Cardinals and other teams and every time he either got injured, or beat out.

I'd love it if Wiz called him out for being a whiny bitch but Wiz is probably above that.

    Both things can be true.

  9. Seeing as it's the bye at the halfway point, and the Chiefs have been largely nothing more than a disappointment, this is the perfect time to post here. I guess I draw optimism from the recent two game win streak going into the bye week. Charcandrick West seems to have the running game clicking like Charles did before he was hurt all the time. The defense has been great lately. Add to that the fact that 5 of our 6 division games are coming up as well as the Browns, Ravens, and Bills, somehow, even ay 3-5,the Chiefs actually still have their destiny in their own hands.

EDIT: I purposely didn't mention Alex Smith. After all, It's an optimism thread.

  10. This is just proof that it's pretty damn tough to lose a spot in the league once you're in. If Blaine Gabbert is being CHOSEN to start in this league, you gotta be pretty fucked up for no one to want you on a roster.

  11. First off, Dutch pretty much nailed it. As to the "old crews doing what they do" argument, if my old sketchy friends decide that they wanna jeopardize my one shot at a life that I've worked my ass off to earn, the first time is the last time. I've cut ties with people over the years for far less than a potential loss of my career, freedom, and millions of dollars. If it's dead weight, cut bait. That should be the message, aND not, "if you're gonna be an idiot, do it with bigger idiots." This is an accepted, if not encouraged, professional practice in a multi-billion dollar industry? Ridiculous.

  12. What would you guys do if you coached the Broncos? Let's say they get a huge lead in the division with 4 weeks left. Do you shut PeyPey down for a few games to preserve his arm for the playoffs? Or do you just let him ride it out since it's his final season?

That's a tough one these days. Peyton historically plays better if he doesn't take a break, but at this point the rest might refresh his arm.

That being said, it's moot anyway. They're not gonna have a big lead, dude. Dem Chiefs doe.

  13. I-70 series again? The state of Missouri is running baseball right now. Woot WOOT! Woot WOOT! Seriously though, KC is just rolling on. It's like they got hot in the playoffs and something clicked. They realized that they really are good and just started having fun. It's taken them to another level, and it's really fun to watch. I waited my whole life for this? Yup, and worth every miserably year! :D

  14. Rodgers is unquestionably the best out there right now, and that's in the same league as Brady, Ben, manning, and Brees. That's saying something right there in itself. The things Rodgers does week in and week out ate nothing short of amazing. Watching the throes this guy makes on a regular basis is purrty great. We're lucky to see it. It's ALMOST like when we (some of us) got to grow up watching Barry Sanders.

Who knows if he'll be regarded as the best ever. To much time from now until then. He's definitely got a shot at it.

  15. Not when you don't know if he'll be there every Sunday.

Ok bud, you tell me who you KNOW will be there every Sunday. While you're looking into your crystal ball over there, let me know who's gonna win the games from week to week so I can just move to Vegas and bet instead of work for awhile.

The hate is strong with this one...

  16. Can't complain about the schedule overall, but why are the Lions playing in London, again? That's booboo.

Yeah I was kinda disappointed about playing a London game, but at least it's the Lions. Not saying you guys are pushovers out anything, but they don't frighten me, especially with that new look defense. It should be a good game, honestly. Hopefully KC can beat Detroit at something. I hate the Tigers

  17. Eagles are going all the way. Goose Shit TIME!

Dude of course they are. They have Goose Shit now. Duh, no-brainer.

I'm really digging the chiefs schedule though. After two seasons of things getting tougher down the stretch, the may of our schedule comes in the front nine this year. Plus it'll be nice to see them play some stiff competition early and often. I'm pretty excited for this season, and Bowe comes home late in the year, too!

    Edit:Lolol you can't even type T E B O W without it saying Goose Shit hahaha

  18. Yeah, I mean at this point it would be weird if I didn't mention the site and some of you guys occasionally. Truth be told, there's some funny shit that goes on here, some cool people, and some really good views on interesting topics. On top of that, I've actually kicked it with a TGPer a few times.

Sean jumping on every team's bandwagon, Bangy drafting Cribbs, Favre literally hating everything (lol), the mass hate for 95% of all media-loved players, and numerous other things are bound to come up in conversation at some point.
