  1. Yeah, Kraft was certainly the proverbial nail in the coffin. It's pretty clear that Hernandez had something to do with it, even if he didn't pull the trigger. That being said, my personal belief is that this guy is a stone cold crazy ass killer.

  2. That was when he pleaded in Las Vegas and before he made deals in the other jurisdictions. He's getting 20 years, and only expected to serve 10 of it before being released on lifetime probation. With time already served he has about 9 years left. If he causes trouble in prison, it's possible to serve the full 20, but I don't know if anyone is actually expecting that to happen.

Oh, he might not cause it, but trouble will most certainly find him in prison. This dude is in for the fight of his life, and he absolutely deserves every bit of it. I can't see the guards doing much, if anything, too stop it either. After all, I'm sure many of them have daughters or sisters. Dude is a total punk ass pussy bitch. Rape is one of the most disposable acts that can be committed. I agree with pretty much everything Zack and Bware have said on this topic, so I won't go into repeating them. Even though he really didn't get as much time or punishment as he deserves from the courts though, he'll be getting a double dose of actual justice many times over. I'm pretty confident in that.

  3. So I guess all this is over the plans to eventually move to LA, and Rivers being unhappy about it?

Talk about a train wreck if this happens. Lmao.

Apparently Rivers grew up near Nashville, and his wife's family lives somewhere out there as well. Even if this is mostly media-driven speculation, there does seem to be some legit teeth to it. Also, I'd say the real train wreck in this situation was the Titans' unfortunate resolution to Jake Locker's career. This would be a pretty good consolation prize, even if there's not many miles left in the motor. It would be awfully embarrassing for the Titans though if Marriotta ends up being the next Russell Wilson right out of the gate. I'm not expecting that he will or anything. Just sayin'.

  4. My initial thought is that I'd be in. When I first got to TGP, no way is have gone for this. Over the years, though, most if not all of the "old timers have mutual respect for one another and have become pretty cool adults. I come to this site for the camaraderie even more so than the posting most of the time. I think I'd feel comfortable overall with giving my number to something like this, just so long as no one uses it as a mms no holds barred. No shock value pic messages, and I'm in. Good idea, Bware. :beerchug:

  5. He got convicted because an insane crazy person who goes around shooting people in the face over spilled drinks and cell phone disputes. He's got another murder trial that they haven't even set a date for yet. Not that it should matter much to him at this point since he's a lifer already. A life sentence without the possibility of parole... Damn.

  6. They should just repo his penis. FUCK hooking up an arousal sensor and then letting him watch porn to see how much he likes it. Unless it's pics of drunk passed out chicks, he probably can't get it up anyway though. What a fucking horrible waste of skin. Dude is a fucking grade A piece of shit, but I do feel like the punishment fits the crime. There are three types of criminals that get extra "special" treatment in prison: child molesters, ex - cops, and pathetic-ass rapists. He's not going to have to wait until he's out of jail to get his penis monitored. He's gonna know how all those women felt over and over again. The big difference is he won't have drugs or be passed out when it happens. That's nine years of karmic street justice. I award him no points and may god have mercy on his soul... or not. Doesn't really matter to me.

  7. No, you're adding context to his words in the same way that the abhorrent media does, while excluding the rest of the statement.

Based on the exact words he said, his opinion is that the media/fan perception of the Eagles belonging to the "star players" rather than Chip Kelly irritates Chip. This fits his statements that PHI is more of a college atmosphere where the powerhouse teams are credited to the coaches who have complete control over their players and suppress their personalities. Conversely, Ryan's grown up and been immersed in the "old boy NFL" since he was a kid where, like Shady said, the players are allowed to let loose a bit so long as they aren't a detriment to the team and they do their job.

I didn't include the entire quote Not due to some devious agenda, but because it seemed to be unnecessary. If I must expound though, I will.

The rest of the quote is just more of the same in that shady making such a big deal of this "problem" says to me that even if there's some semblance of truth in what he's saying, it bothers McCoy as much as he claims it to please Chip.

As for Rex Ryan letting his players cut up, look at who you're talking about. The dude is a cut up himself, so naturally his team is going to take after that. Surely you remember the shit show that the Jets became. Maybe he should be a little more like Chip if he wants to actually keep this job.

It seems to me that the coaches who experience sustained success are of more of a team first mind set. I.e. Belichick, parcels, Cowher, Landry, Paul Brown, Bill Walsh, etc. Structure and a culture of winning isn't a brand new idea. McCoy just seems like he doesn't like the idea of his coach not trying him like he's as special as he considers himself.

  8.

I don't think Shady's point is... Hey, I am a star, give me special treatment. I think it's more about thinking about others and ya know... Sometimes putting them before yourself. Obviously we all have our own personal goals and aspirations. But in a job where you are supposed to be leading other people and instructing them along the way? You need to show a general interest in them...

"I don't think he likes or respects the stars. I'm being honest," McCoy said Monday

From his mouth to your screen, that seems to be exactly what he's saying. Stars don't need their asses kissed. They get paid more than the rest of the players on the team, get endorsements, and so on and so forth. It just sounds to me like Shady wasn't getting his nuts tickled enough, so he got all butt-hurt. It is what it is and whatnot, but it's generally that kind of attitude from players that land them in places like, say, Buffalo, instead of NE. Just saying.

  9. I don't know. I mean, he probably really does just need a change of scenery. It's just a shame that the change came in the form of the Browns. Still, I'd like to see him do well there. I don't hate the Browns, and with Hartline and Hawkins as well, who knows. If they only had a QB...

  10. I'm gonna go against the seemingly conventional wisdom here and say that it's the Raiders playoff/Super Bowl appearances that make them even MORE tragic than the others.

Raiders fans had legitimate excitement and optimism. Then came the cliff that they didn't notice and WHOOP: right over the edge. Never even saw it coming. That had to suck.

The plummet just doesn't stop either. A buddy of mine is a legit lifelong Raiders fan, and the playoff bound Raiders are barely a memory top him.

At least Browns fans can still talk about their team without a piece of their soul dying. It's always, "If we could just get a QB." The Browns could contend with a legit signal caller.

The Raiders have a laundry list of inadequacies that no QB can cover up. There is literally no hope in that fan base. That's my pick.

  11. This guy would actually be a near perfect fit for KC, on paper. They can dump Bowe, which I kinda already expect, and put that money into a guy who had excelled in the slot. Since their QB literally can't stretch the field, a dynamic slot guy who can catch and go would be ideal. Add top that we have a coach with a dink and dunk mindset and it just makes sense

  12. Best thing about this trade: first off-season in years that I won't have to see post after post in every running back thread about how this is gone be C.J. Spiller's breakout year in buffalo. I seriously couldn't take another off-season of that.

With that in mind though, if people were that excited about a back who's never really done anything playing for a team that was clearly going nowhere, this has to be at least somewhat intriguing of a move. I saw someone's post about "can he play quarterback," and lol that's a good point. Still, if McCoy can rebound nicely this season, that Buffalo offense just got much better.

  13. So... does this mean you're a Cowboys fan again? What happened to the Vikings?

    They sucked lol

To be fair, the reports are that Hardy paid off this chick to drop the case.

This ^^^ It's not like the dude was found innocent or even not guilty. He paid a bunch of money so that the chick would drop the charges. He pretty much admitted guilt in doing so, so I don't see that the Panthers screwed this up at all. Hardy clearly "allegedly" did something wrong, and after the Ray Rice thing, what did you think was going to happen when he got charged with domestic violence?

  14. One of the few good moves that the Browns have made since coming back to Cleveland was trading this kid for a first round pick. It was an unpopular move when it happened, but boy did it work out in the Browns' favor. They screwed the pooch with the pick, though, so I guess it's a wash for Cleveland fans.

  15.

They aren't really similar. At least to me. The only real reason the two are put in the same tier by most is because of Winston's off the field issues, accuracy, and Mariota's intangibles, and has the tools to be a great QB depending on where he goes.

I personally don't see most of the tools he has as elite, or even great. And on top of that, he's a project. At his best right now I see Mariota being a good QB, and nothing more.

Agreed. They aren't the same at all. The only thing that they have in common is that they both won the Heisman and played for a NC. The only reason they're talked about in the same breath is because they're the top two QB's coming out of college this season, and as you already mentioned, Winston is a bit of a head case. If it weren't for his off-the-field issues and steep regression this year, he'd easily be the no.1 overall pick.

  16. Manning [38], Brady [37] and Brees [36] are no more than a couple years from retiring, and Romo [34], Manning [34], Rivers [33], Roethlisberger [32], and Cutler [31]

One of these things is unlike the others :p:lol:

And breaking this down further, Tannehill plays in the AFC, so if you can have a top 6 QB in your conference, you at least have a decent shot at making the playoffs.

In 3 years, Manning and Brady will probably both be gone. So that leaves Ben, Rivers, and Luck as the only undisputed quarterbacks better than Tannehill in the AFC. Tannehill will probably be a top 5 QB in the AFC in a few years. So if you look at it that way, this deal isn't that bad. And many people, like me, think that Tannehill's best football is still ahead of him.

Unless Ryan gets a brain transplant, I just don't see it. He's got the tools to be good, but his decision making and inability to read a defense consistently are things that don't generally get better for guys. Tannehill can make throws, no doubt, but his ability to make the right choices is definitely in question.

I could understand if maybe he'd gotten even marginally better over the course of the last couple of seasons, but he hasn't. There are a lot of people that I've talked to that actually feel like he's regressed. The only two Dolphins fans that I know irl both want the kid on the bench. He's pretty much the same guy that he's been since being drafted as far as I can tell: good enough to win games that don't mean much, but just not good enough. He's the best QB that the Dolphins have had in some time, but that's not saying much.

Personally, i don't think he's any more viable an option than Alex Smith, and he's grossly overpaid. If you took both of those QB's best qualities and melded them though, then you might really have something.

  17. Might as well pay him a moderate salary now so you don't have to 15+ on a sub-par QB later.

So your solution is to pay a sub-par QB 15 mil now rather than wait and pay one later? I guess that's one way to go.

Tannehill has moments where he doesn't look like complete ass, but I don't ever really see him being "the guy" anywhere. Sounds like Miami is about to make a KC-like move. He's better than some, but he's never going to be a top ten guy. Since only 12 teams make the playoffs, having a top ten QB is pretty important imo.

  18. Shit, $190,000? Chump change. Dude ain't got nothing on my barber... lol I shit you not. True story here. I know it's a little off topic, but damn.

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — The man who police say sold marijuana and painkillers to accumulate more than $750,000 in illegal money did so on an honor system from his home and barbershop, court records say.

Cuyahoga Falls police conducting surveillance of Scott Fogel's 10th Street home saw customers take marijuana from Fogel's barbecue grill and painkillers from a Vespa scooter and left the proper amount of money for payment, according to court records.

Fogel, 46, a convicted sex offender, faces a fifth-degree felony charge of marijuana trafficking in Stow Municipal Court. A Summit County grand jury will now decide how the case will proceed and whether Fogel will face additional charges.

Fogel also made deals out of Mel's Barbershop, which he owns, according to court records. He only sold drugs from the Graham Road shop to people he trusted, according to court records.

Investigation begins with anonymous tips to police

Cuyahoga Falls police launched its investigation July 25 after getting several anonymous tips about Fogel selling marijuana from his home.

Investigators watched Fogel's home and noted he was "extremely paranoid and constantly coming out to the street and looking around," according to court records.

They later found he carried a gun in a bag while he walked his dog, court records say.

Police also learned that Fogel bought a new drug shipment on Sept. 23 and that he kept three large gallon-sized bags of marijuana in a safe room inside the home. Fogel regularly purchases $2,500 to $4,500 shipments, court records say.

    Police raid 10th Street home

Police raided Fogel's home later in the day. They also went to the barbershop and confronted Fogel, court records say. They told him about the raid happening at his home and asked to search his car, court records say.

Inside the car they found a Percocet pill bottle and several pills. They also seized his phone, which the FBI will analyze, according to court records.

At Fogel's home, they found $762,537 stored in closets, clothes pockets, Rubbermaid containers, tote bags, coffee cans and baskets in the basement, attic and the safe room, court records say.

Investigators seized so much money, all in small bills, that they asked for the help of a local financial institution that provided people and equipment to help count the money, officials said.

Police also found a police scanner and 11 cellphones inside the home.

Police originally seized two bank accounts for Mel's Barbershop, which was started by his father and is now owned by Fogel.

They also seized three personal bank accounts, three motorcycles and a 2007 Pontiac GS.

Fogel's attorney, Paul Adamson, successfully argued that money from the Mel's Barbershop accounts and the Pontiac GS be returned to Fogel, who is free after posting $10,000 bond.

Dude used to be my best friends stepdad like 15 years ago. Nice guy, and a great barber. The whole time, we had no idea any of this was going on. I told one of my friends about it, and he's all, "Yeah, I know. It sucks. That's where I got my weed from." lol

For anyone who may be monitoring the internets, that last part is complete fiction ;)
