  1. Is there a single player on Cleveland's roster who wants to be in Cleveland?

A single player? lol Try a single Clevelander. They'll claim that they love their town and all that jazz, but if any one of them got a job down south or out west or out east they couldn't leave fast enough. Cleveland must be like prison for a rich person. It's at least gotta be as bad as house arrest. I mean, it's Cleveland. I challenge any of you to go there for a week to see all there is to see and tell me I'm wrong...

Add to that the fact that this organization has been a joke from top to bottom since Art Model left—that's right, I said it—and why would you expect anything more from a guy who can get paid extra to LEAVE CLEVELAND! No brainers take no brains to figure out.

  2. Media can paint Hernandez in any light they want, the thing is we don't have access to all the court documents and evidence so it's an odd place to be a viewer of this whole situation through a media scope. On one hand we have all the news sources saying he's guilty. On another hand we have a 2 year trial with constant evidence dissection by jurors. I'd say if it was so cut and dry we'd have already had a verdict.

I had a court case for a misdemeanor with a lawyer that I paid a $500 retainer, and THAT thing was dragged out for roughly 4-5 moths and ended with me eventually taking a plea "deal" (not such a good deal  ) and never actually going to court or even sniffing a jury. I probably could have drug that out for a year, give or take a couple of months, and that was, as I said, just a misdemeanor.

The Hernandez case is about ending and forever changing lives—plural—with much higher paid counsel than what I had. This thing is far from over. Hell, it's barely even gotten started. Add to that the fact that he's got another murder case waiting for him after this one, and he might be over the hill before it's all said and done. Either way, I can't ever see him dawning another NFL jersey unless he buys one from the mall or Ebay or something like that.

Still, you can talk about the media painting this guy in a certain light all that you want, but some of the evidence that is being questioned and thrown out sounds pretty damning. Hell, if it was just dribble, why would he bother trying to get it all thrown out? This isn't some case of a poor misunderstood kid that's in trouble for stealing bread and milk from Mr. McConor's corner store so that his little sister doesn't starve to death. The dude is going around shooting people. In the face. For spilling beverages. It's like that part in the movie "Liar Liar".

    Hernandez's lawyers be like:

    "Overruled..."

  3. LMAO at that woman. Hun.. pls :yao:

You'd have to be the dumbest group of jurors ever to acquit him. Literally everything that's come out makes it glaringly obvious that he is guilty. Thank gawd they got rid of this chick.

It's pretty clear that this dude is a straight up thug. There's no question. He's an animal that the country will be safer with behind bars. Unfortunately, that doesn't matter. With enough money and a good enough lawyer, reasonable doubt becomes much more reasonable for whatever reason.

Now I'm not usually one to wish ill on others and whatnot, but I hope this dude gets convicted. He can't just go around shooting people for no reason and get away with it, or at least I hope he can't.

  4. Durst was enamored with him.

I don't know if I was enamored with him, but I did go on record saying how upset I was that the Browns leapfrogged the Chiefs and stole the guy. I wanted him in a Chiefs uniform. I'm not even gonna pretend I didn't. I've always been aware of the question marks, but I thought that he'd be able to at least throw the ball at the NFL level. As it stands ATM, I might just have been dead wrong about that. Could be a bullet dodged scenario here.

He didn't play much and clearly wasn't prepared when he did see action, most of which is completely on him. I do still wonder if things would have been at least a little different had he gone to a team who's head coach wasn't another rookie who didn't even want the kid on the roster to begin with though. He was clearly a cash grab by the owner. Season tickets sold out in like 8 hours or something crazy like that. In a market where a lot of people who aren't even sure what they'll be eating for dinner next week since they aren't sure what's on sale at the grocery store yet, that's quite a feat.

This would be a very Browns-like move IMO :yao:

Moving on from a QB with question marks to another QB with question marks and giving up the house to do it? Yeah, sounds like Browns to me. lol Mariota has the same ON THE FIELD questions that Johnny did. He seems to be head and shoulders above Manziel as far as just about every off the field aspect goes, but the fact remains that there's no way of knowing if this guy can fit into a pro-style offense.

Back to Manziel though, I'm not going to completely count the kid out. He's still a kid, and he definitely took some lumps this season. He was served up some humble pie, but if it didn't humble him at all then he's going to have the same problems going forward. If he wants to be taken seriously as an NFL QB, it's time that he starts taking it seriously himself.

  5. lol. Until Brady and The Hoodie BOTH leave, they always have an open 'window'.

    Silly thread.

First, I'd just like to use this as an opportunity to say that you, Mr. ATL, should not even be allowed to post with a pic like that in your sig.:puke:

That being said, this is pretty much the end of the discussion right here imo. The killer B's pretty much cement the window staying at least cracked. I mean damn. What more do these two have to do to convince people that they're not just overrated media darlings? Any argument that either of those guys isn't as good as advertised is just absurd at this point.

  6. Eh, the last pot thing was pretty wack. They took two tests at the same time and one was just barely over while the other was just under, DUI's (just at the legal limit in the morning, most likely still in his system from the night before,) happen like ever week in the NFL, and this latest thing seems pretty weak too. If they said it the stipulation was a regular season stipulation and dinged him after the season ended, then a full year is just ridiculous.

I know the guy has made some mistakes, but so does he. Come on. The only difference between him and a lot of players is bad luck getting popped. I'm not saying that makes it right, but there's no reason for people to treat him like a pariah over this stuff.

Stephen A. Smith had a chance to be something more than an over-opinionated blow-hard, and instead he just stuck to his guns and continued to insult the kid. He proves he's an asshole at every possible chance to.

  7. Yeah black guys having fun and being good at QB makes certain people really mad for some reason. :troll:

In all seriousness though, I am curious. Didn't you like him at one point or am I confusing you with someone else? He really is just a big kid, which is a bad and a good thing, but I'm genuinely curious why so many people dislike Cam.

I never really liked Cam, but I did predict him to go in the first round the night he won the national championship and was nearly laughed out of the shoutbox for doing so. I'm sure no one remembers that though ;) I also have defended him in the past for getting paid. He's not the first athlete to cash in, and he won't be the last.

I think my problem with Cam is Just that he seems so smug. He comes of arrogant. Cocky is fine, but arrogant is Just too much. He's brushed off congratulatory teammates to say cheese for the camera, he celebrates when they're getting they're butts kicked... No one should be that happy while their team is getting clobbered.

  8. Winston's father says he will be leaving FSU and declaring for the draft...

    Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass.

He and Mariota are gonna be ridiculously bad. It's like Ryan Leaf and Peyton Manning if Peyton Manning were a second Ryan Leaf.

I +1 for humor lol. Come on though. Neither one of these kids will be Ryan leaf. Maybe we'll see a Jameis Russell though? :shrugs:

  9. No proof of dirty play?? He was just suspended for stomping on Aaron Rodgers' foot, and that wasn't even the first time he's been fined or suspended for dirty play. How have you seen no proof? He's notorious for it.

Because the things he's gotten in trouble for have little or nothing to do with his actual play. He can be a jack ass, for sure. A dirty player though? I'm not going that far. As for the Rodgers thing, that was overturned. He never even looked back at him. I'm juSt saying that there are other actual, much worse, dirty players. I don't look at Suh as this Gotham super villain.

  10. Is he a bad individual like Terrell Suggs is a bad individual? No. But we know what kind of individual he is based on the things he willingly chooses to do on the field.

Like what? Like stomping on a dude who wouldn't let go of his leg? Like backing up onto a QB? Like playing too rough with franchise QB's? I really don't know what he's done, even on the field, that's any worse than most other guys. He's just really good and really big and doesn't really go out of his way to hide anything.

The cameras are going to find him. At this point, they're just looking for a reason to bust this guy down. What he does off the field though, when the cameras AREN'T on him, that's what shows character. When did that rule change just because you don't like the guy?

  11. Welp...looks like Winston is staying another year...

Apparently baseball teammates of his have been hinting at it on their facebook after their first baseball meeting today. He's apparently going to announce such on his birthday...which is today...

we land the first overall pick and are handed the worst QB draft class in years. this franchise is cursed

    Yup.

    We're cursed. We're fucked.

    More McCown/Glennon.

God I hate this team man. SMFH

You know I love ya man, but please stop your madness lol. I guess you've already forgotten 2013, when the Chiefs had the no.1 overall pick. Geno Smith and EJ Manuel ring any bells? We took a RT out of the MAC with the top pick for crying out loud. There is no bigger no.1 pick wasteland than there was that year. Draft fail at it's finest.

As for the state of the Bucs: Well, let's just say I'm glad I'm not a Bucs fan :Suicide:

  12. Well, it ain't working for them in St. Louis. They had that moment when the stars lined up and Faulk, Warner, Holt and Bruce went Madden-mode on the whole league, but that was it. Before and since, not even people in St. Louis care about the St. Louis Rams. I don't know how well they'll sell in LA for the long haul, but it will be great initially for sure. They shouldn't have a problem getting players to come to a real major market, and TV money will surely be there as well. It's going to happen. The Rams owner is just getting ahead of the game. Good on him.

  13. At this point, I guess... IT GOES A LI'L SOMETHIN' LIKE THIIIIIIIIIISSSS!

Teams I'd like to see win:

    1. :Packers: I love me some Rodgers. The guy is a beast, and when he's on top of his game there's no one doing it better. Add to that my A.J. Hawk love, Clay the monster, the emergence of a running game this season, and one hell of a secondary, they're just a fun team to watch when they're firing on all cylinders. I love watching them put teams away and then pile it on. They look like they really love blowing teams out.

    2. :Colts: I just can't see this happening with the one dimensional nature of this team. They have no running game, their defense is suspect on a good day, but that Andrew Luck... Wow. The kid is for real. I know for some reason TGP is predominantly anti-Andrew for God knows what reason, but there are about 30 other teams that would be lucky to have him at QB right now.

    Meh, Whatever...:

    3. :Patriots: Brady was supposed to be done after he got benched against the Chiefs. If you watched any sports news the next day, the sky was falling, Tom was yesterday's news, and Belichick was a joke. Fast forward through the rest of the year, and look where we are. I like watching a complete team play a complete game, and this Pats team is as complete as they've been in a long, long time.

    4. :Seahawks: Say what you want about them. They're brash, they whine, they're dirty, this guy is overrated, that guy is a loudmouth... Blah blah blah. They found a way to get homefield advantage when everyone was writing them off as the next defending champs to miss the playoffs. Call me crazy, but I don't mind this team. Hell, there are even some guys I genuinely like to watch playing in Seattle. Also, all the Wilson hate has got to stop. lol

    Please, God, NOOOOO:

:Broncos: I'm a Chiefs fan, and Peyton didn't give us the time of day. Fuck a third strike. Two is all they need.

:Cowboys: I don't hate them as much as most people do, but I do hate that smug smile on Jerry Jones' face. On top of that, the no.1 team I'd like to see win it would have to lose for them to be a possibility. Plus, Chris Christie can suck it.

:Ravens: Flacco, plain and simple. He just really ircks me. I will say this though: If he goes God mode playoff monster again, I'll reconsider calling him the most overpayed guy in the history of the NFL. I'm still waiting for him to have that 2-4 pick game. It should come this weekend in Foxborough, err, Gilette.

:panthers: Cam. That's all. Just Cam. Hell of an athlete, but I don't like the kid. Doing superman poses after every other first down? I don't know. Maybe one day I'll ease up on him, but he just seems like he still doesn't get it. They didn't even win half of their games, and they beat a fourth string QB in a game that was actually a bit closer that the score. What's so funny, Cam? STOP. SMILING.

  14. I love the Jags fans here. You guys stay plugged in and optimistic. Reminds me of me in the Herm Edwards years. I know they were garbage, but everything was still relevant in my eyes. Every signing, hiring, and personnel move was important. You guys have a defense that's no longer a laughing stock, so if they can get that offense rolling they might not be such a joke anymore.

BlastedRawBrotels though, I'm not sure about that guy. He was almost unbearably bad last season. Rookie year and all, but still. That was epic fail shit.

  15. The problem with Tamba at this point is that what's left in the tank only takes him to about the halfway point in the year. He's fighting through holds on every other play, but it's football. There are plenty of holding no-calls for every team. Still, Tamba just can't fight through them after week nine. His motor never stops, but it does slow significantly after the season starts to wear on him.

It's sad for me, because I absolutely love this dude in a Chiefs uni. If anyone deserves to retire in KC red at this point, it's Tamba. That being said though, he'd probably have to do it after taking a pay cut. He's just not the same guy every week. If Dee Ford is anything close to what they hoped he'd be when they drafted him, it might be time to plug him in and move forward. :(

I'd hate to see him go, but I don't know that it's avoidable right now. 9 million is just too much for a team that's as cash-strapped as they are.

  16. I hope he signs a big deal and finds out he needs microfracture surgery, loses all of his athletic ability, and is out of the league within 3 years.

Wow... Didn't even see this the first time through the thread... You have out-eviled Suh with one statement. This is more despicable than anything Suh has done or said in football. Wishing a career ending injury on the guy? Pretty low, man. What did Suh do to you?

  17. Some of you have heard some of this. Some of you may not know that I do this at all. They're all a few years old, but I stopped playing for awhile and recently have picked it up heavy again. In light of that, I decided to get my old stuff back out there to lay groundwork for the new stuff that I'll be putting together this year.

Comments are welcome. Some of you will like it, and some will probably not, but that's ok. I have a good deal of respect for you guys, so critique as well if you must. I'm aware that there are technical errors in every song, but whatever. One take on a Kodak digital camera only goes so far. Not any room for editing lol. Just know it's ultimately an expression of my own. These songs are what they are, and I won't be making any changes to them :p

  18. Haynesworth 2.0?

Probably because he's a dirty player.

Is he really though? Is he really a "dirty player?" I hear everyone say that, but I've seen no proof of dirty PLAY. I've seen him cleanly and routinely take on double teams and destroy competition. I've seen him hit QB's too hard. I've seen him do extra stuff after the whistle, and yeah he gets carried away sometimes. Still, he's never paralyzed a guy with a cheap shot or anything *cough Warren Sapp cough* Sapp is fucking adored and fawned over.

I don't hate the player. I hate the individual.

How can you not hate the individual?

Everything I've heard about the guy points to the contrary. He's stand-up in the community and loved in his locker room. He doesn't get along with his opponents, and that's a bad thing? Pls stahp.

As they say, character is on display on the battlefield. I don't need to have lunch with him. I've heard enough about him to know what I need to know. Huge bully and drunk at Nebraska (from actual Nebraska students involved with athletics), fatass child as an NFL player who can't seem to keep himself from doing stupid, absurd things.

He's a fucking prick. No ifs, ands, ors.

Wait a minute. You're telling me a college kid who was probably the most well known popular guy on campus was an asshole with a drinking problem? Well knock me over with a feather. Come on son.

  19. The guy definitely isn't worth 11m bucks, and I don't know if he is worth the roster spot at all. He has talent, but he has had talent for the last decade, but just doesn't deliver. What makes this even more painful is that the Chiefs skipped adding a WR in last years draft completely -- which has turned otu to be arguably the best class of all time.

They didn't draft a wide out, but they got Dee fucking Ford. Who needs a fantastic wide out when you can have an olb who never plays? Lol

Almost everyone around here knows I'm a huge fan of Bowe. That being said, he needs to be cut. He drops too many balls, struggles to get association, and is on the wrong side of 30. He's always had limitations, but he produced despite them. He was an over achiever. Anymore he just doesn't perform. Bring in Josh Gordon.

  20. Demarco Murray finishing nearly 500 yards better than the next best rusher.

Peyton Manning falling apart late in the season. He usually waits until the playoffs for that.

Justin Houston going off like a madman. 22 sacks?! That's pretty rare air there. I knew he was Damn good, but...

The Cardinals being SOOOOOOO much better than I've ever given them credit for being. It Sucks they had all that QB trouble.

The Giants being so awful. I know they had a lot of injuries, but wow.

The Browns finishing with a better record than the Saints. I would have given anyone 2-1 odds for however much money they wanted to bet on that. No way on earth I saw that coming. That's the craziest one to me.

One thing that DIDN'T surprise me was the collapse of the Bears that's got everyone scratching their heads. New coach, bad O-line, and what did I tell y'all about Cutler? :coffee:

  21. Offensive MVP:

Jamaal Charles/Travis Kelce-I hate doing co-MVP, but I felt like I had to. Charles didn't have a normal beast year, and if not for Kelce there would have been zero passing game to speak of. Kudos to the kid.

Defensive MVP:Justin Houston - obvious choices are obvious. I think he just got another sack while I was typing this.

Most improved: Knile Davis- It's mostly just due to getting playing time, but the way he ran this year was nothing short of impressive. Sophomore stunner right there.

Biggest disappointment:Dwayne Bowe- this one isn't even close for me, consisting I expected nothing from Eric Fisher and got exactly that. Bowe went from underrated over achiever to overrated under achiever with one pen stroke. Love the guy, but he's not earning that contact.

Best newcomer: Hussein Abdullah - the guy just flat out stepped up. The secondary was supposed to be a glaring weakness, and thanks in large part to this guy it held up nicely for the most part.

Most overrated:Alex Smith - I like the guy. I really do, and I applaud his effort. The fact is though that his glaring weaknesses are at this point seemingly insurmountable. Chase Daniel made me sad by playing so much more effectively in that SD game. He didn't do anything special, and still the offense just looked better worth him in the game. I'm not saying Chase for pres or anything. I'm just saying smh at Smith's contract.

Most underrated: Sean Smith - with his lunch pail persona and the emergence of others, Smith has been lately forgotten. While he's no all pro, he's very solid. He gets burned sometimes, but almost everyone does. Just showing a forgotten starter some love.

ROY: DeAnthony Thomas - It took a minute, but he showed me enough to be happy with the pick. His touches were limited, but his all purpose skill set can't be denied. He's lightning in a bottle, and he can find ways to keep the chains moving too.

  22. Justin Houston FTW. If not for Watt being an absolute animal, he might have a good case for dpoty. Too bad Favre couldn't come in for one snap at the end of the SD game to fall over and give him the sack record. :coffee: lol
