  1. Great interview. I loved it. It's a guy speaking his mind, and I have no problem with it. He even managed to make a decent point here and there in his angry shpeel. Even if you don't agree with what he's got to say, he has the right to say it. That's the whole point of the media—as well as sites like this. He's mad as hell, and he's not going to take it anymore—at least not quietly.

Amen to that. Let's hope it doesn't come back and bite him in the ass. :)

  2. See you in 10+ games Chara. Fucking disgusting cheap shot into the boards. Puck was long gone, 15 seconds left in the period and he runs him right into the stantion of the boards. Awful.

Here's the video, but I can't figure how to embed. HD feed of it.

Chara got no suspension. I honestly don't know about this league anymore. Atleast the brass itself.

seriously, I couldn't believe it, he needed to get at least ten games for that, that would be a good precedent for the league to set, as it is, they set a very dangerous one

Wow. No suspension? Nothing? At all?

I realize that all four of the commissioners of the major sports leagues suck massive amounts of dick, but Bettman might be the worst.

How the fuck did Chara not get a suspension for that hit it was disgraceful. He is a fucking goon and is one of a few players that I really hope gets fucked over by someone.

There is no point in dwelling on it anymore for the following reason:

There have always been two sets of rules for NHL players: One for players like Chara and one for the "other" guys. Chara is considered to be way too valuable for the Bruins while Pacioretty is not expected to play a huge role on Montreal. That is why Chara had never gotten any suspensions for any previous dirty plays he may have committed, and that played a key role into him avoiding one.

It's like when Chris Simon and Pronger both stomped on a player's leg with their skates. Both players had been suspended many times before but Pronger had only gotten 8 games while Simon was tossed for 30 for the SAME infraction. Why? Because Pronger was far more valuable than Simon was.

Sadly, this won't change and, as a result, high-caliber players will continue to get away with murder. And, sooner or later, someone is going to get killed as a result. I know Ovechkin was an exception, but it still doesn't change the fact it's still happening.

  3. Thats a fuckin cop out. I grew up in the inner city, went to shit Cleveland public schools and come from a very poor family. I played football and was recruited but I made the CHOICE on my education. We all make choices in life, if you decide to take the easy route, you may pay for it later in life.

Their job is just like most any other job in this country. The owners make money off the production of their employees. When the employee isnt fit to work anymore, they're cast aside. The difference is: most people dont make millions of dollars per year like our friends AP and Mendy. I made sure I got my education and I have a good job but I can work for 30 years and not come close to netting what they do in 5-10 years. Once they're done in the NFL they can do what they like - fuck around on the golf course, go into broadcasting or coaching. I'm going to be doing the same shit probably. Yeah, I feel real fuckin sorry for these guys.

What you're basically saying is the owners worked for their education, have the ability to run a billion dollar organization but we should bend to these ignorant players for putting in less than 2 years in most cases?

    What?

WELL SAID NATAS! I wish I could give you a +100 for this. :):clap:

  4. Well you can face the Colts as competition in the North. Look at the Map. How far is it from Indianapolis to Cincy,Cleveland and Pittsburgh? Theyre in the right geographical areas. And Indy and Steelers fans can help selling out Bengals games

Yeah the NFL's sense of geography has never made any sense  That's why Dallas is still in the NFC East and St. Louis is still in the West.

  5. Slavery: condition of being enslaved labourer: the state or condition of being held in involuntary servitude as the property of somebody else.

Working in the NFL is NOT considered slavery Peterson, as you can retire from it at anytime. You don't like it, get out of the league, otherwise quit making idiotic comments.

Whoops I put this in the wrong thread. It was supposed to go in this one: http://www.thegridironpalace.com/forums/index.php?/topic/48609-adrian-peterson-compares-his-job-to-modern-day-slavery/

  6. What...the...fuck...

THIS IS GODDAMN HORSESHIT! A quarterback in the act of throwing?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WHY DON'T WE JUST GET RID OF THE PASS RUSH ALL TOGETHER?! Way to fucking protect the QB's some more! Next thing you know it'll be illegal to hit an RB before he gets past the line of scrimmage!

And as for a WR trying to catch a pass... there is already a rule in place for that! It's called PASS INTERFERENCE! There is no point in having that penalty if you make it illegal to hit a receiver as he's trying to catch a pass!

If this gets implemented, the game is gonna be ruined big time. Football is supposed to be a rough sport, and there are always risks of injuries, but at this rate it will get so watered down that it will be totally unwatchable in a few years.

Way to go motherfuckers! Thanks for continuing to ruin a wonderful game!

  7. You got the Browns as rivals. I Perfer Titans vs Ravens as rivals.

I see your point. However, the Browns-Steelers rivarly has cooled off and became mostly one-sided. I'm just glad that we still have some competition in the North.

  8. YES! I'm happy to see good amount of votes! I knew this topic would get interesting.

It was a difficult choice between Bettman and Selig, but I went with selig because while both had problems with the unions, leading to a lost season, Selig's absolute failure to face the steroid problem is going to be a permanent taint on the sport long past what Bettman has done. I'm giving Goodell the benefit of the doubt because the NFL hasn't lost its season yet.

As for David Stern, you people are crazy. He's not only the best of the 4, but one of the best commissioners ever in any sport. He might be a jerk, but he took the NBA from a rapidly declining league to the worldwide success it is today.

I have read articles that state that the steroid problems go back to before Selig became acting MLB Commissioner in 1992. Jose Canseco for example admitted to taking steroids in the 1980's. Selig isn't to blame entirely for the issue, but he DOES deserve blame for failing to face it directly and not trying to solve it as best as he could.

Bettman. He refuses to acknowledge the fact that expansion was a TERRIBLE idea and of course they had the lost season but I don't even blame him that much for that.

Exactly. The southern hockey markets have consistently lost money since they were put in. Also, Ohio and Georgia had teams that failed before (Cleveland Barons and the Atlanta [now Calgary] Flames) so putting teams back in those spots was totally stupid. A prime example of this problem is the ongoing Phoenix Coyotes saga. The only smart expansion was the Minnesota Wild as they have sold out completely since entering the league.
