    All the big movies this year were way overrated. 1917 was good from a moviemaking standpoint I guess if your into the whole behind the camera thing. Other than that, I thought it was rather boring most of the time. 
     

    Parasite was okay too but it’s just not what it was talked up to be. 
     

    After reflecting on the Irishman, I wanted to like it so bad but it’s just not a good movie. There’s some good scenes and good roles from some people. 
     

    Once upon a time is by far my favorite movie of the year.

    Another thing with UBI, who stands to really benefit? Why do you think people like Bezos and Musk and Branson etc etc. Silicon Valley in general is such a huge proponent? 
     

    Because they want you to willingly go along with taking away their jobs and further monopolizing themselves. They want their workforce nearly entirely automated. When those menial jobs are already figured out, some of which have already been, who’s going to pay those people? Not them. The government and the people whose jobs can’t quite be automated, yet. They will certainly try to get the technology caught up with all of us though.

    the builder that my company sub contracts for wastes probably millions of dollars in construction meterial a year and based on what my friends and family tell me of working in a more corporate, office type scenario, they're not exactly efficient either. Also, people are tried and convicted for embezzling from companies literally every single day. Lol

    Never said there wasn’t and sure there is plenty of all that. But in the private sector I can inform myself and choose who with and what to put my money into. I find that to be the biggest selling point as to which is preferred. 
     

    As far as embezzlement and fraud goes, I’m glad to see that they’re convicted however those crimes are just as, if not more rampant in government and I’d wager far less of those individuals are ever found out or tried.

    Unfortunately social security isn’t being used today as it was originally intended.  They will never get rid of it now because so many people depend on it when they shouldn’t. Now we’re just paying to appease and keep the status quo. 
     

    In fact when I was younger I repeatedly applied to work for several railroads because I didn’t want to pay into SS. 

     

    Medicaid isn’t as terrible but just like anything the government runs has a lot of abuse and fraud. Just can’t trust them to do anything right with your money.

    Entirely. Less government is generally better. Any plan would only increase the size of government and their role in everybody’s life. No thanks. They have more than enough already. 
     

    All it is is a subliminal, manipulative way to buy hearts and minds and votes along with it, with money that isn’t theirs to give. Same goes for healthcare and tuition and debt forgiveness and whatever other ridiculousness they throw out there before elections.

    2) Sopranos had always been more thematically rich than Game of Thrones. Anyone who went in to that episode thinking its purpose would solely be to reveal the fate of Tony Soprano was, again, set up for disappointment.

    So basically what I'm saying is the final season of Sopranos was absolutely consistent with the pacing and structure of the show up to that point. I cannot say the same about the final two seasons of Thrones.

     

    Plus, everyone knows not a single black guy ever walked into a diner in Bloomfield, NJ. 

     

    They were not there for the food. Bye bye Tony.

    I understand its easier to dismiss it as just "fucking millennials" as SteVo puts it, but that is in fact not what its about.

    What sort of thing happens all the time? Things that you don’t necessarily agree with? Bad TV show endings?  That’s called life guys. Venting is just the same as whining. Call it whatever you want. 

     

    Some people just need to learn that their opinions and emotions, whether it be about Game of Thrones or abortion, just aren’t things anyone needs to hear about. Just shut up.

    Did people not want to see the Hound and Mountain fight? Isn’t that what we wanted since like season 1? 

     

    Did people really want a fantasy ending where Jon and Dany get married have kids and live happily ever after? 

     

    Did people really expect Jamie to either kill  Cersei or just forget that she and their child are about to certainly be killed?

     

    I don’t understand these people. The show has to end, or else is lives to be The Walking Dead which has been unwatchable now for many years.

He saved Brienne twice when he could have just kept his mouth shut and he'd still have his hand.     Sure, we as the all omnipotent viewer have most of the context and understand that the things Jamie did were generally for the best. He did some good things, and did some bad things. 

     

    My only point with Jamie is that the majority of the characters don’t have that context. They just know him as the Kingslayer that fucks his own sister. I just assume most of them don’t think of him as a “good” guy and that’s partly why he doesnt think so either.

    I also don’t think that was out of character for Jamie, it was apparent from the first episode he would do some fucked up shit for Cersei, he was just throwing a pity fuck to Brienne because she saved his life a couple times. He was always the “bad” guy, at least thats what almost everyone in that world thought of him after he killed the Mad King and he believed it a bit himself. 

     

    I was hoping for a clear victor in the Cleganebowl but they both got what they always wanted it seems. 

     

    Now the the question is who gets to kill Dany and her Dragon.
