Sad stuff, always enjoyed watching him on ESPN when I was younger. Won't lie, I got teary eyed when Rich Eisen announced it on NFL network.
-
For some reason I over looked this before. Just signed up.
-
Mike Evans - The 2nd best rookie WR in one of the best rookie WR classes to come out in a long time, behind ODB of course.
ASJ was a disappointment, didn't really see enough of Charles Sims but what we did see wasn't very good outside of a couple runs. No one else we drafted played much if at all.

So Bucs fans, as of this moment, do any of you want the Bucs to do something other than take one of the top 2 QBs with the first overall pick? Trade down? Take somebody else?
I would prefer us trade down to get more picks. We need to rebuild our OL, defensive secondary, and we don't have a decent RB in sight.
I understand why Buc fans want a QB, because we NEED a QB, but I can' stand the thought of drafting a guy with off the field issues in Winston, nor a QB that's solely played in a read-option offense and is pretty well known for missing wide open receivers in college like Mariota.
Honestly if we had a good defense, a decent OL, and a good RB, I'd say draft Mariota. Reason being he's probably going to struggle mightily without those things due to his play style. If we can't manage to build those other positions around him within a couple years, he'll just get benched and traded/dropped like nearly every other 1st round QB drafted in the same conditions.
Unless you're sure he's going to be the next Manning or Rodgers it's really a backwards way to go about things. I'd rather struggle more years until this team has a good run game, OL, and a promising defense, then draft some Russel Wilson-like QB after if that's the choice.

1. I'd like to see a run by a 4th string QB and their defense2. I like Aaron Rodgers, never met a fan I disliked3. All around fun team to watch4. Because seeing a team we beat week 4 win the SB is all I have left5. Same as the Packers, Luck is fun to watch, good fans6. Ravens are usually fun to watch in the post season7. Not interested in watching them8. Boring team outside of the defensive line9. I like watching this team but they have annoying fans everywhere10. :Patriots: Another team with a lot of shit talking fans11. Insufferable fans that will only get worse with another SB win12. Division rivals

I'd probably end up choosing Mariota although it's a tough choice. With Winston you have to worry about off the field issues, and when it comes to QB"s that's one thing a lot of the busts have in common.
With Mariota you have a guy that's coming from a read option offense, so you have to hope he can learn how to make multiple reads at the speed level of the NFL, and you need to have the coaching staff and offensive play calling to support him at a proper speed.

I'd prefer to see Glennon play out the year. He hasn't played well, but we might as well be certain with what we have with Glennon and let him play the final 8 games. If nothing else but to see if he's worth having around as a back-up. McCown offers zero upside to starting. He won't help us win games and we're not going to get any other benefits with a QB of his age and talent.
-
Sorry I went 9-4, but marked as 8-5. I can't count, apparently.
-
It's a 5 horse race right now, I think the largest amount of people we've had with a chance to win it at the final game of the week.
Thanatos 9-3, Pick: IND Tiebreaker N/A
RazorStar 9-3, Pick: IND Tiebreaker 60
Bucman 9-3, Pick: IND, Tiebreaker 58
Spartan Havoc 9-3, Pick: IND, Tiebreaker 53
Favre4Ever 8-4, Pick: NYG, Tiebreaker 22 (rounded)
So in the end it comes down to tiebreakers...
I changed my Dallas pick to Arizona so I went 9-3 with a 64 point tiebreaker.

Changed from Cowboys to Cardinals with Romo out.

He's still got potential to be great. I haven't watched the Bucs play all that much, but I'm pretty sure they've been using him in cover 2. Which is a big no.
It's pretty overstated how much we're using Tampa-2 this season. Even if you scratch the last 2 years and only consider his play this season, he isn't in the Tampa-2 the vast majority of snaps, and he still eats dick.
I didn't like the draft pick over Kuechly when we made it. I still hoped he would work out but I'm not surprised or disappointed to see him go.

It's been many years since I've seen the Bucs give a player a big contract that I think will actually earn it.
Glad to see we locked him up for several more years as the block to build upon.

Not really on topic, and maybe it's just me, but it feels like shit news like this is taking up almost all football related articles. I remember when analysts focused on the actual football aspects of the NFL and a lot less on the locker room gossip.
I don't think it's really the analysts that have changed though, it's the players. They need to worry a little more about doing their job, which is winning games, and a little less on talking to the media about whether or not they think a teammate is black enough. Doing the latter is only going to serve not only hurting the team, but their own careers.

According to what I've heard and read it's not even a mix of the best officials in all of these games. A lot of the officials for the wildcard and divisional rounds aren't even in the top half of the officials in the league. Thankfully the ones we've seen in the wildcard we're unlikely to see again as the only officials that officiate twice in the postseason are the ones that do the Superbowl.
Personally I prefer the idea of taking the top 4 crews and having them officiate the games. For the Championships, use the top 2 ranked crews, and of course for the Superbowl have the top crew. I don't see how using a hybrid of various different officials that don't work together all year is going to be beneficial.
