Bucs GM says backfield will be a committee

By committe, I hope he means Blount will commit to running the ball all the time lol. I don't mind Graham, or even Lumpy (for a couple plays a game). As long as Allen Bradford doesn't sniff the field. Dude should be on the PS, if that.

    Chase for the Cup scenarios

Well racing fans, the time has come. NASCAR's version of the playoffs, the Chase for the Sprint Cup, will bein in two weeks at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. So that leaves this weekend's race at Richmond the final chance for NASCAR's best to become eligible for the Chase and keep their hopes of being the next Sprint Cup champion alive. Let us take a look at the scenarios for this weekend's final "regular season" race. Drivers Locked In Jimmie Johnson: 1 win, 11 top 5s, 17 top 10s Analysis: Johnson is 1st in points and has mathmatically clinched his spot in the Chase. He's the 5 time defending champ and only driver to make the Chase each year since it's inception in 2004. Kyle Busch: 4 wins, 13 top 5s, 15 top 10s Analysis: Kyle is 2nd in points and is poised to be the number one seed in the Chase. Only Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick can tie him for the lead going into Chicagoland by winning this weekend. Carl Edwards: 1 win, 11 top 5s, 16 top 10s Analysis: Edwards is 3rd in points and locked into the Chase. He has nothing to race for at Richmond but a 2nd win to rank him higher in the seeding. Matt Kenseth: 2 wins, 7 top 5s, 14 top 10s Analysis: Kenseth is 4th in points and the 2003 champion has locked up his chance to go after a second title. He can tie himself for 2nd in seeding heading into Chicagoland with a win on Saturday. Jeff Gordon: 3 wins, 9 top 5s, 13 top 10s Analysis: After a slow start, Gordon is as hot as anybody on the circuit fresh off an Atlanta win and is now 5th in points. With a win in Richmond, Gordon can tie Kyle Busch for the 1st seed heading to Chicagoland. Kevin Harvick: 3 wins, 6 top 5s, 12 top 10s Analysis: After a smoking hot start to the season, Harvick has cooled off as of late, dropping to 6th in points. But he's still locked himself into the Chase and with a win in Richmond on Saturday, he can tie Kyle Busch for the first seed in the Chase. Kurt Busch: 1 win, 6 top 5s, 13 top 10s Analysis: Despite an up and down season, big brother Kurt is 7th in points and locked into the Chase. The only thing he has to race for at Richmond is a win to put him higher in the Chase seeding for Chicagoland. Ryan Newman: 1 win, 8 top 5s, 12 top 10s Analysis: Newman's consistency has him 8th in the points and locked into a Chase spot for this season. All he has to race for on Saturday is a win for higher Chase seeding. Brad Keselowski: 3 wins, 6 top 5s, 10 top 10s Analysis: Despite an extremly slow start and running outside the top 20 in points for most of the season. Keselowski has caught fire with five straight finishes in the top six and has flown to 11th in points. His three wins have him locked into the Chase as a wild card at worst. But if Keselowski finds a way into the top 10 in points by the end of Saturday's race his three wins will place him 2nd in the Chase seeding. A win and getting into the top 10 in points will tie him with Kyle Busch for the 1st seed in the Chase. Drivers On The Bubble Dale Earnhardt, Jr.: 0 wins, 3 top 5s, 9 top 10s Analysis: After a strong start to the season, Dale Jr. has faded down to 9th in points. If the Chase were to start now, he would make it, but he isn't locked in yet. He is 25 points ahead of 11th place Brad Keselowski, a bad finish in Richmond combined with a good Keselowski run could kick Jr. out of the Chase for the third straight season. Jr. can make it easier on him and his fans by locking in with a win, but all Jr. really needs is a solid run and he should be okay. Tony Stewart: 0 wins, 3 top 5s, 10 top 10s Analysis: Despite a down year for Tony Stewart, he is still 10th in points and hanging on to a Chase spot. He is 23 points ahead of 11th place Brad Keselowski, and like Dale Jr. likely only needs a solid finish at Richmond to wrap up his Chase berth. A blown engine or accident however, could put Stewart's season in jeopardy. Denny Hamlin: 1 win, 4 top 5s, 9 top 10s Analysis: Hamlin currently sits 12th in points and is hanging on to the second wild card spot at the moment. However, things could change. A bad night in Richmond to go with a win by someone behind him in points could cost him his Chase spot. A second victory by someone such as Paul Menard, David Ragan or Marcos Ambrose could put his Chase spot in trouble as well. Hamlin is best served to just go for the win Saturday at Richmond, one of his better tracks. Drivers Still Alive Paul Menard: 1 win, 4 top 5s, 7 top 10s Analysis: Despite being 20th in points, Menard is more alive in the Chase hunt than most of the drivers ahead of him thanks to his Brickyard 400 win. Menard can lock himself into the Chase by winning at Richmond this weekend, if only it were that easy. Menard's best chance of making the Chase is Brad Keselowski knocking either Tony Stewart or Dale Earnhardt, Jr. out of the top 10 and no driver ahead of him in points wins so he can take the second wild card. AJ Allmendinger: 0 wins, 1 top 5, 6 top 10s Analysis: Allmendinger is still breathing in the Chase hunt at 13th in points. If he could win in Richmond and pass Denny Hamlin in points in the process, he would steal the last wild card spot. If Allmendinger were to win and have Brad Keselowski jump into the top 10 in points, that also would place him into the Chase as a wild card. Clint Bowyer: 0 wins, 3 top 5s, 9 top 10s Analysis: 14th in points, Bowyer's Chase hopes are about the same as AJ Allmendinger's. A win at Richmond, a track he's won at before, while passing Hamlin in the points OR win while Brad Keselowski cracks the top 10 in points would make him the second wild card. Greg Biffle: 0 wins, 1 top 5, 7 top 10s Analysis: Biffle is 15th in points and Chase clinching scenarios are the same as Allmendinger and Bowyer. Biffle must win Saturday night's race while passing Hamlin in points OR win and have Brad Keselowski jump into the top 10 in points. Martin Truex, Jr.: 0 wins, 2 top 5s, 8 top 10s Analysis: Truex is 16th in points and his Chase scenarios are the same as the three above him. He must win at Richmond while passing Denny Hamlin in points OR win and have Brad Keselowski crack the top 10 in points to earn a wild card. Kasey Kahne: 0 wins, 3 top 5s, 8 top 10s Analysis: Kahne sits 17th in the standings and has the same Chase hopes as the drivers mentioned above. Kahne must win Saturday while passing Denny Hamlin in points OR win and have Brad Keselowski jump into the top 10 in the standings. Kahne's best hope is for the latter, as he will need Hamlin to finish almost last to pass him in points, even with a win. Joey Logano: 0 wins, 4 top 5s, 6 top 10s Analysis: Logano is 18th in points right now and has two Chase clinching scenarios. Logano must win at Richmond and have Denny Hamlin finish 43rd without leading a lap OR win at Richmond and have Brad Keselowski make a move into the top 10 in points in order to get into the Chase. Marcos Ambrose: 1 win, 4 top 5s, 8 top 10s Analysis: Sitting 21st in points, Ambrose's Watkins Glen wins give him a couple of Chase scenarios. If Ambrose wins Saturday night's race and jumps into the top 20 in points, he will earn the second wild card. Also, if Brad Keselowski jumps into the top 10 in points and Ambrose makes the top 20 and is ahead of Paul Menard, he will make the Chase. The second scenario is assuming no driver in the top 20 in points higher than Ambrose wins the race. David Ragan: 1 win, 3 top 5s, 6 top 10s Analysis: Ragan's win at Daytona in July has his Chase hopes alive heading into Richmond despite being 23rd in points. By winning Saturday night, Ragan can clinch a chase spot IF he jumps into the top 20 in points and jumps over Paul Menard and Marcos Ambrose in points. He can also make the Chase by having Brad Keselowski break into the top 10 in points, in this scenario Ragan would have to jump into the top 20 and be ahead of Paul Menard and Marcos Ambrose in points. He also would need any driver (except Denny Hamlin) ahead of him in the top 20 to not win Saturday's race. Drivers Still Alive, But Barely Mark Martin: 0 wins, 2 top 5s, 7 top 10s Analysis: Martin, 19th in points, still has hope of making the Chase. If Martin can win Saturday night's race and have Brad Keselowski crack the top 10 in points, he will earn the second wild card. Juan Pablo Montoya: 0 wins, 2 top 5s, 7 top 10s Analysis: Montoya sits 22nd in points, but amazingly can still find a way into the Chase. By winning Saturday and having Brad Keselowski jump into the top 10, Montoya can make the Chase as long as he makes the top 20 in points and is ahead of Paul Menard and Marcos Ambrose in the standings. All remaining drivers have no mathmatical chance of making the Chase. This list includes Jeff Burton, Jamie McMurray, Regan Smith, Brian Vickers, Bobby Labonte and David Reutimann. As you can see from these scenarios, those drivers on the outside looking in need one thing. A win. This should make Saturday's race at Richmond even more interesting, because for most drivers in the field. Only the trophy will matter.

    Your Draft Class So Far

How does your draft look after preseason and going into the real games? Do you still have the same opinions of your rookies now that you did in April? 1.Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa Was not happy with the pick when it was made. But it grew on me. He'll step in right away at RDE and should be a physical run stuffing DE who can help our pass rush. I feel at worst, he'll be a solid but unspectacular player. 2.Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson One of the more interesting rookies in the league for sure. It appears his knee is healthy right now and he'll contribute this season. He won't be the official starter at LDE, but he will play a lot of snaps in a rotation with Michael Bennett. If he can learn and stay healthy, the Bucs could have the steal of the draft. 3.Mason Foster, LB, Washington Could honestly have the biggest impact of any of our rookies. I figured he'd be an OLB, but the Bucs will throw him in at MLB right away and they are really high on him. 4.Luke Stocker, TE, Tennessee We haven't had much of a chance to see him in preseason because of a hip injury, but he'll have a big role as the second tight end right away. He's also impressed coaches with his film study and preparation during his injury. 5.Ahmad Black, S, Florida Seems to be the disappointment of the draft so far. He was really productive in college but his measurables leave a lot to be desired. Unfortunatly he was hurt for most of camp and all preseason, so he had to be cut and placed on the practice squad for now. We'll see if he will redeem himself one day and make an impact. 6.Allen Bradford, RB, USC Not digging this one. He's got the build of LeGarrette Blount, but plays nothing like him. He goes down way too easily and doesn't seem to have much vision. To be fair, he's played behind a bad offensive line, but he's still been outperformed by every single back the Bucs had on their preseason roster. He SHOULD be on the practice squad, but appearently his special teams play is saving his ass...for now. 7a.Anthony Gaitor, CB, Florida International He just has the feel of another Mark Dominik 7th round gem. So far he's given us Sammie Stroughter, EJ Biggers, Dekoda Watson, Cody Grimm and Erik Lorig in the seventh. All guys expected to contribute and some even play big roles. Gaitor was really impressive in preseason and while he isn't likely to contribute this season unless there is injuries, he seems like a guy with a future. 7b.Daniel Hardy, TE, Idaho I thought he showed nice athleticism and pass catching ability in preseason, but he's been cut and placed on the practice squad while the team looks at other TE options. Who knows if he will ever make an impact, but I wouldn't say this was a bad pick considering how late it was. So overall, we are expecting contributions from our first four picks this year while the backend of our draft is looking disappointing with the exception of Gaitor. My opinion of this class hasn't changed too much since April, my opinion of Clayborn has risen a little and Black has dropped a little, but so far things seem to be going kinda like I thought.

Bucs stun Falcons with epic fourth quarter comeback The Atlanta Falcons came into Raymond James Stadium on Sunday needing a win as much as you could possibly need a victory in Week 3. After the preseason NFC South favorites lost their first two games of the season, they went up against a Tampa Bay team that won it's first two games. Desperate to avoid falling behind three games in the division race this early, the Falcons gave the Buccaneers every thing they had. Fourth year QB Matt Ryan tore apart the Bucs' secondary for 399 yards and flew to a big early lead, 28-7 at halftime to be exact. But despite early struggles and some missed field goals, the young Bucs held in there and on the back of LeGarrette Blount's 214 yards and three touchdowns, saw themselves coming back from a 34-14 fourth quarter deficit. The rally was started by a nine yard score from Blount to get the Bucs within two scores, then on the following drive, rookie DE Da'Quan Bowers forced his career fumble, which was recovered by fellow rookie Adrian Clayborn and led to a Kellen Winslow touchdown. Bucs' franchise QB Josh Freeman, no stranger to fourth quarter comebacks, engineered a brilliant late drive, hitting Dezmon Briscoe for an eleven yard score to put the Bucs ahead for good, 35-34. Now 3-0, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will prepare to host Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football next week. After the victory, head coach Raheem Morris commented on the game, "You have to love the resolve of these young guys. They never gave up and kept fighting and we found a way to get it done." "But we have to better on defense, we have some guy named Manning come here next week and I hear he's pretty good so I think we'll have to do better in the secondary," said Morris. Injury Report: Rookie DE Da'Quan Bowers suffered a late injury, but coach Raheem Morris says Bowers is fine and will practice and play next week. WR Michael Spurlock suffered a neck injury in the first quarter and didn't return, but Spurlock is expected to be okay. WR Mike Williams could return for next week's battle with the Colts, but Morris says Williams is more likely to see his return in two weeks when the Bucs travel to take on the 49ers. Coaches on the hot seat

People say Marvin Lewis is on the hot seat every year yet Mike Brown keeps bringing him back. I think an underdog coach on the hot seat may be Jason Garrett. If the Cowboys miss the playoffs I could see Jerruh firing him and going after Gruden or Jeff Fisher. Of course you have to put Hue Jackson there because you never know what Al Davis is going to do.

    Bucs Go Emo...

James Lee and Allen Bradford making the team is a shame. Both of them didn't earn a spot, they were both pathetic in preseason. Hopefully they are replaced by waiver pickups soon. Also, not thrilled that Preston Parker made the team again without really showing anything. But it isn't like he'll play so whatever. Will be interesting to see who got the axe for Zac Diles.

I prefer watching the best and I love the draft, love FA, love trades, etc. College football is nice to see how many upsets happen and how the top 25 changes from start to finish, but the BCS and now all the scandals put an unfortunate black eye on the sport.

Bucs dominate Vikings After failing to score a touchdown in Week 1's win against the Lions, the Buccaneers didn't take much time to put up seven in Week 2. Just three minutes into Sunday's game, Josh Freeman hit Arrelious Benn for a 43 yard score that set the tone for a 34-18 Bucs victory to open up 2-0 for the second consecutive year. The Bucs used a balance rushing attack with LeGarrette Blount and Allen Bradford to keep Minnesota on their heels all day and veteran QB Donovan McNabb struggled outside of one big 80 yard touchdown to Percy Harvin early in the game. The Bucs will host the defending division champion Atlanta Falcons next Sunday in a huge early season matchup that can play a huge role in the outcome of the NFC South. Bucs head coach Raheem Morris on Sunday's victory..."Nice play on both sides of the ball, anytime you can keep a guy like Adrian Peterson quiet you know you're doing good things on defense. The offense came out and showed their ability too, we were able to score through the air and on the ground. We're excited about this win, but it is back to work. We have a big game with Atlanta next week." Inury Report: CB EJ Biggers suffered a minor neck injury, but Raheem Morris says he should be able to play next Sunday against the Falcons. Bucs defeat Lions in opener without touchdown Despite racking up 410 yards of offense and controlling the ball for 39 minutes of the game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers failed to score a touchdown in Sunday's season opener against the Detroit Lions. But four field goals was enough for a 12-10 victory to give the Bucs a 1-0 start on the 2011 season. Early on, the Bucs running game controlled the game. Second year back LeGarrette Blount and rookie Allen Bradford were finding holes and leading the team down the field, but early struggles for Josh Freeman and the loss of his favorite target, WR Mike Williams hurt the passing game and the team had to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns. Meanwhile, with Matthew Stafford injured, Lions backup Shaun Hill had a hard time substaining any drives and the Lions went the entire first half with only two first downs. After the Lions' defense finally keyed in on Blount and Bradford, the Lions saw the opportunity to get back into the game. Trailing 9-0 in the fourth quarter, Shaun Hill finally found the key to success, veteran WR Calvin Johnson. After hitting Johnson for a big 30 yard play, the Lions finally got on the scoreboard with a Jason Hanson field goal. Then finally, Hill found Johnson for another big play, this time a 30 yard touchdown to give the Lions a 10-9 lead with 1:11 left. But young Josh Freeman wasn't fazed, the 3rd year quarterback led the Bucs down the field, allowing Connor Barth to hit a 35 yard field goal as time expired to secure a Buccaneers win. The Bucs will travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings for Week 2. Head coach Raheem Morris on his team's performance..."Not Free's best day, made a couple bad throws early, threw a couple picks but at the end he made up for it with a perfect drive. We know he'll do better, we know we'll score touchdowns. But today, we're happy we got a hard earned win against a very good football team." Injury report: After making a nine yard catch in the first quarter, WR Mike Williams suffered a shoulder injury. He is expected to miss 3-4 weeks. This is a big blow to the Bucs' offense as Williams led the team with 11 touchdowns last season. Michael Spurlock stepped up in Williams' place, catching 7 balls for 91 yards. Around the League Packers 35, Saints 12 Steelers 20, Ravens 17 (OT) Browns 17, Bengals 7 Colts 35, Texans 31 Titans 28, Jaguars 21 Bears 30, Falcons 27 (OT) Chiefs 33, Bills 10 Eagles 31, Rams 28 Buccaneers 12, Lions 10 49ers 24, Seahawks 15 Redskins 20, Giants 17 (OT) Chargers 27, Vikings 22 Panthers 29, Cardinals (OT) Jets 23, Cowboys 17 (OT) Patriots 24, Dolphins 14 Raiders 37, Broncos 37 (OT) Weekly Leaders Passing: C.Newton (CAR) 358 yards Rushing: A.Foster (HOU) 143 yards Receiving: P.Garcon (IND) 181 yards Sacks: J.Abraham (ATL) 3.0 sacks

    Kings of Comedy

I would agree with Stone and Parker. South Park is pure genius. I also love Andy Samburg, guy is effing funny. If we are going stand up, it is kinda tough. I don't watch that much stand up these days. I love Daniel Tosh though, but I don't think he belongs at #1. George Carlin would probably be my favorite dead comedian. There is one guy I see on Comedy Central a lot and he is just awesome, don't know his name though. I know he's got a southern accent and is a little chubby (no, not LTCG). Aziz Ansari's standup special made me lawl too. Dane Cook, Seth McFarlane and Carlos Mencia would probably make my overrated list in the comedy bizz. But then again, almost everyone has seen through Mencia's act and not many like him anymore so I'm not sure he'd qualify as overrated.
