I didn't count. You have to cut four players after every preseason game. I cut six the last time to sign two free agents. I personally would prefer a real life scenario with like 80-90 players and you do big final cuts.

Bucs announce roster moves Following their preseason loss to the Patriots, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have continued the process of cutting down their roster for the regular season. WR Ed Gant, OT Will Barker, LB Shawn Kennedy, CB D.J. Johnson, DE Alex Magee and TE Ryan Purvis. The Bucs also announced the signings of LB Jonas Mouton and TE Dan Gronkowski. Gant and Purvis caught the only receiving TDs of the night for Tampa Bay, but those were the only receptions they made and neither have made much of an impression so far. Magee was acquired in a trade with the Chiefs last year, but Magee had struggled to make an impact in camp and failed to make a single preseason tackle. Mouton, a 2nd round pick cut early by the Chargers is being brought in for a look on special teams and depth. After Ryan Purvis failed to challenge rookie Daniel Hardy for the 3rd TE spot, the Bucs will give Gronkowski, recently released by the Broncos, a chance to battle for the spot. The Bucs are preparing to face the Miami Dolphins this weekend Notable preseason Week 2 cuts: RB Harvey Unga, Bears LB Kelvin Sheppard, Bills TE Clint Ingram, Eagles LB Scott McKillop, 49ers WR Tim Toone, Lions WR Mardy Gilyard, Rams S Myron Rolle, Titans

Bucs improve but still fall to Patriots After an embarassing performance against the Chiefs last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers bounced back with a solid effort against the New England Patriots, but still lost 32-25. Once again, Josh Freeman and the first team offense came out hot and drove down the field but settled for a field goal this time. Backups Josh Johnson and Rudy Carpenter improved their play and the Bucs took a late fourth quarter lead before Jonathan Crompton was picked off by Gary Guyton and returned it for the game winning touchdown. "I liked the things I saw on offense, we really got the run game going and that made things easier for our quarterbacks," Bucs coach Raheem Morris said in his post game press conference. "On defense we had some problems with Tom Brady, but who doesn't? I'm encouraged." The Bucs will stay in Tampa and prepare for their dress reharsal against the Miami Dolphins. Bucs announce first cuts Earlier today the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced their first group of cuts for the preseason. K Luke Anderson, P Robert Malone, LB Nicholas Montana and CB Vince Anderson were the team's first cuts. The most notable name of the four cuts was Malone, who served as the Bucs' punter for most of last season but with the addition of free agent Michael Koenen, Malone's roster spot was all but gone. He punted for the Bucs in the second half of their loss to the Cheifs, and will now look for work somewhere else. Head coach Raheem Morris said about today's cuts, "It's always to look a young man in the face and tell him you are cut, but it is a part of this business. The NFL says we have to cut four players this week and we did what we had to do. I wish these young men the best." As the team looks forward to their second preseason game agaisnt New England, several battles across the roster are heating up. After a solid showing against Kansas City, Jonathan Crompton is making a strong push to make the Bucs' roster to replace Rudy Carpenter as the third string QB. "I like what I saw from Cromp the other night," Raheem Morris said in his press conference "He looked poised and made some nice throws. Obviously Josh (Johnson) and Rudy struggled so he's really making a case for himself. These next few weeks will be interesting." The battle between Jeremy Trueblood and James Lee to be the team's starting right tackle is still wide open coach Raheem Morrs said today. Trueblood started Friday night's loss to the Chiefs and came out with the starters while Lee played the rest of the game, but Morris said he was impressed with Lee and hasn't decided who to start. He even hinted to starting Lee this week against New England to see how he performs with the starters. Notable preseason Week 1 cuts: LB Jonas Mouton, Chargers LB Bruce Carter, Cowboys P Matt Dodge, Giants LB Xiaver Adibi, Texans

Bucs' backups struggle in loss to Chiefs Josh Freeman and the Buccaneers' starting offense looked good out of the gate. Driving down the field on their first drive of the game with Freeman scrambling for a nine yard touchdown, but once the starters came out of the game, it became a different story. Backups Josh Johnson and Rudy Carpenter were both picked twice and struggled the move the ball and the young defenders on the Bucs' defense struggled with big plays resulting in a 35-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Former Univeristy of Tennessee starter Jonathan Crompton made a case to be on the roster, while Johnson and Carpenter struggled Crompton led the only scoring drive without Josh Freeman. Looking sharp as he hit fullback Erik Lorig for a three yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Not all was bad with the backups, backup DT Al Woods recorded an impressive four sacks in Friday's loss. "Woods was one of the few guys otut there making plays man," said head coach Raheem Morris "He was putting heat on the QB and making things tough, he's not only making his case to be on the roster but to get playing time." Morris said despite giving up 35 points, he saw good things from his young defenders. "There was a lot of good plays made and they kept the score close for a long time while the offense struggled. We had a hard time with big plays though, that is the thing we need to work on most this week to prepare for New England," Morris said of his defense. The Bucs' next preseason matchup will be a home stand against the New England Patriots, where they hope to see better things out of their young team. It's solid. I'm liking franchise mode so far, my big complaint is the CPU doing preseason subs for you and moving starters to other positions when I just want them off the field.

    Milla's fantasy team

Just finished the draft, picked 11th in a 12 team league. QB-Peyton Manning RB-Maurice Jones-Drew RB-Felix Jones WR-Roddy White WR-Brandon Lloyd TE-Vernon Davis RB/WR/TE-Tim Hightower K-Matt Prater DB-Michael Griffin DL-Justin Tuck LB-Ray Lewis DB/DL/LB-DeMarcus Ware Bench-Kyle Orton Bench-Mike Tolbert Bench-Mike Sims-Walker Bench-AJ Green Bench-Dustin Keller Bench-Devin McCourty Bench-James Anderson I like it for the most part. I got Peyton in the 4th round because of his neck, but I honestly feel comfortable with Orton for a game or two until he's ready. I'm also really high on both Felix Jones and Tim Hightower, even though they both have the same bye week. I think Hightower is going to have a stat padded year in Shanahan's offense.

That is a beast lineup for the most part. Foster/Turner as the backs should be boss.

    Milla's fantasy team

I lol'd when Vick went that high. I've always believed you go RB in the first round, glad MJD fell to me. I went QB in the 4th and 15th rounds and think I should be okay there. Worst case scenario for me is Manning's neck lingers long term and Orton ends up benched or something. On another note, I hate leagues where you have to draft defensive players lol. I'd rather just take a team defense and be done with it.

    Milla's fantasy team

First round went exactly like this. I was kinda hoping Chris Johnson would fall to my pick because of his holdout, but he went one before I could take him. 1.Adrian Peterson 2.Tom Brady 3.Arian Foster 4.Ray Rice 5.Michael Vick 6.Aaron Rodgers 7.Andre Johnson 8.Jamaal Charles 9.LeSean McCoy 10.Chris Johnson 11.Maurice Jones-Drew 12.Calvin Johnson Thankfully a couple people went QB, I'm glad I stocked up on backs and was patient to get Peyton in the 4th round.

Seeing players fall over drugs is stupid. It was college, pretty much every player except Tim Tebow was doing drugs and banging women. As long as it isn't a serious addiction or they are selling shit, who cares.

Danica Patrick announces full time move to NASCAR

It will be even worse if she makes the Daytona 500 next year.
  19. Made way too much sense. NASCAR is the ultimate marketing sport and Danica is as good as anyone at marketing herself, there is so much money for her to make off NASCAR. Plus she's actually shown promise in the Nationwide series this year. Good luck to her.

Pretty tough to do the offense as a Bucs fan, the history there is so bad lol. Defense: 1.Derrick Brooks 2.Lee Roy Selmon 3.Warren Sapp 4.Ronde Barber 5.John Lynch 6.Hardy Nickerson 7.Simeon Rice 8.Shelton Quarles 9.Donnie Abraham 10.Richard Wood Offense: 1.Paul Gruber 2.Mike Alstott 3.James Wilder 4.Doug Williams 5.Jimmie Giles 6.Mark Carrier 7.Warrick Dunn 8.Keyshawn Johnson 9.Josh Freeman 10.Kellen Winslow

Top 10 WRs in the league?

Who cares if he only played in nine games last year? Staying healthy is a part of football. I don't see how a guy can be a top 5 WR when he's failed to put together a healthy big time season. I wouldn't even rank Collie in the top 20 WRs in the league (maybe even top 30 and beyond), let alone the top 5. Let's see him actually put something together rather than just some potential in an injury riddled season. Just because a thread is opinionated doesn't mean people can't be called out on their opinion, especially when it is as absurd as listing Austin Collie as a top 5 WR. I also didn't call him an idiot.
