Don't think he is an upgrade over Goodwin. But he should be decent for the Saints.
-
Yeah, I think it is up to Parker and Webber for that last WR spot. The Bucs are obviously high on Parker though, they kept him on the roster all season to protect him from the waiver wire so they obviously think he has potential worth keeping. But we'll see.

I never actually took a look at Finley's career numbers until just now. His three seasons... 2008: 6 catches, 74 yards, 1 TD 2009: 55 catches, 676 yards, 5 TDs 2010: 21 catches, 301 yards, 1 TD Wow. Not sure what the hype is all about. Sure he was on pace for an awesome 2010 before going on IR after five games, but I saw people putting this guy way high on the top 10 TE thread. I think maybe he should actually put together a great season before we start talking big about this guy. I seriously don't understand the hype.

I'm not sure any of these guys will have much of a leg to stand on in a holdout down the line. Maybe Joseph if he returns to his Pro Bowl days. But if he plays like he did last year, he could be a candidate to be cut in the future.
-
I know he stinks, but you could do worse with a 3rd string QB.
-
We don't know what the Broncos were asking for.

I would say Koenen is a top 15 punter, maybe top 10. But the Bucs have gone through 6 punters the last two years so some stability there won't hurt. It isn't anything that has me thrilled, but I'm okay with it. He is also very good on kickoffs, 3rd in the league in touchbacks last year, our kicker Connor Barth had only one touchback all year.
-
Punting average is easily the worst way to compare punters, because there is more to punting than how far you punt the ball. Koenen wasn't worth the deal he got, but he isn't below average solely based on net average. He is an upgrade for the Bucs, and I'm cool with the player, just not the contract.

So, now that Free Agency is virtually over
Milla4Prez63 replied to RazorStar's topic in General NFL Talk
Considering the only thing the Bucs added in FA was a punter, my opinion of the team hasn't changed. -
I don't see the potential of being a top tier QB in him at all. I think at best, he is a servicable QB. But the Cardinals gave up in compensation and money what you would for a franchise QB. I just don't see it in Kevin Kolb.
-
I think I'm the only person who doesn't see the big deal in Sidney Rice. He's had only one productive season and he is getting paid like a proven star or something.
-
Dominik is really praising Foster as the MLB. Good bye Barrett Ruud.
-
I'm all about locking up our guys. But nobody who is a FA really deserves getting locked up and we are going to be forced to overpay, whether it on our own players or others.

That is the problem here. You are buying what the player reps are feeding you. They are trying to make themselves look good so they don't look like the ones holding up the season. The owners have said for some time now they were going to vote on this on Thursday. Players have had several voting dates cancelled. The owners didn't pull some suprise attack, it has been known they were voting on this for days now. Now, do you think these business men who got where to where they are by doing good business are stupid enough to approve an enitrely new CBA the players haven't even looked at? The important people in the NFLPA know most of what is in there, and most of it they have agreed upon. I don't blame them if they want to be careful looking through this before they agree, but stop the bull, the owners didn't just scrap together some random CBA and vote it through just to make the players look bad. I'm sure they planned on this pressuring the players, but they didn't make a CBA the players don't want with the sole purpose of making them look bad.
-
The players have to vote at some point. What good does not voting do them? They would be stupid to let their emotions get the best of them here. Like posted already, if they vote and pass it we get football and if they turn it down you go back to work to get the deal they want. Sitting around pouting doesn't help anyone. Let them look over this proposal, maybe talk to the owners about some counter offers on smaller issues and vote on it. But I'm worried player egos will drag this out longer than it should.
-
Mort says the players are expected to vote again tommorrow.
-
I've heard reports saying this AND some saying the owners slipped in things they didn't agree to. How could the NFLPA* know this without seeing the deal? Every little bit of this is both sides trying to make the other look bad and play into their hands. The owners want the deal done now, and the players want to drag their feet and will cry foul. Screw everyone involved.

It is just too close to cut here. Free Agency is supposed to begin next Wednesday, and remember that is just a signing period for teams to re-sign their own FAs before leaguewide FA begins. Just not enough time to get it in. I'm 100% fine with losing it too. I always get excited over it, but I'm bored after a quarter. Just a boring game.

The Bengals are incredibly inept, it is kind of sad. Why would you not trade Palmer? Add extra picks to a rebuilding team is a no brainer for me. They already drafted his replacement.

Manning, Brees ask for franchise exemptions
Milla4Prez63 replied to BLUE's topic in General NFL Talk
I find it funny that all summer we have heard Drew Brees claim all the players want to do is just play, and here he is being a greedy prick and potentially halting the new CBA. Fuck off Drew, I hope Adrian Clayborn and Da'Quan Bowers have your head when the Bucs come into town. -
Salary Cap to be around $120-123 million
Milla4Prez63 replied to FartWaffles's topic in General NFL Talk
Not bad, I've also heard the Bucs may only be about 44 million under the floor which is manageable. I just don't want the Bucs to spend a ton of money on long term contracts for veterans then when it comes time to re-up key young guys we'll have to make decisions on who to keep because can't afford everyone. -
Broncos believe they made a mistake by drafting Knowshon Moreno
Milla4Prez63 replied to AllYouNeedIsLovie's topic in AFC
It is unreal how badly McDaniels ruined the Broncos in such a short period of time. -
Titans want vet QB that can come in and win games
Milla4Prez63 replied to AllYouNeedIsLovie's topic in AFC
I think the whole waiting to put a rookie QB out there thing has become outdated. Teams have been starting rookie QBs from day one and they have been playing well. With the lockout, I'd understand if they have concerns about Locker's grasp of the playbook, but I wouldn't waste money on a veteran stopgap if you think Locker is your future.
