Packers are drafting like they are The Bengals or like they are rebuilding. Pretty weird. Trade up for a backup QB and Aaron’s potential successor.... take a 3rd string RB who will probably replace Jones next year (contract year, Packers probably won’t pay him) and a 3rd or maybe even 4th string TE... I know some analysts had TE as a need but it really wasn’t with Jace getting healthy. Packers have already said they’re gonna use him extensively and move him around etc. So from my view the Packers drafted a bunch of backups, none of which are at positions of need. Maybe this works out long term but for a team who got railroaded in the NFCCG, sure doesn’t seem like they’ve don’t anything to get better.

2020 Democratic Primary Race
Favre4Ever replied to seanbrock's topic in Politics, Religion & Science
He should. Biden has negative chance of beating Trump in any debate. Trump should just do as many as possible, because Biden will look like an imbecile. I do feel bad saying that, because he probably has early stages of dementia or something but... this is the game he signed up for, so. Have fun. -

Ya, you aren't wrong that Dems didn't want him. But people didn't really want him either. He lost support in the last 4 years... He got screwed with Hillary for sure... but he's gone against two of the weakest Democrats in my lifetime and couldn't beat them... Biden is probably going to die in office if he is elected (doubt he's elected, but if so). He can't form a coherent thought to save his life, and Bernie couldn't grow his base. That's almost unfathomable to me. I know I have said this before, but he is a terrible candidate for President. He talks a good talk mostly... He has solid ideas mostly... But he isn't a builder. He isn't someone who I trust to create and push these ideas into reality. I know Tulsi is a small fish relative to the rest of the Dem field, but if he will treat her the way he did.... How will he treat anyone else that doesn't offer to blow him like AOC or Rashida or a few others? Yes I realize the DNC behind the scenes mobilized the moderates in the party behind Biden, but did Bernie even TRY? Probably not, or not that hard if so. He didn't even make headway with Warren. Like, what was he fucking doing this whole time? lol. When other candidates drop out, you've seen Biden (let's be real, Biden's shadow team... biden himself has no clue where he is or what year it is) push slightly different policies or programs to attract as many of the other candidates voters as possible -- and he did the same thing with Bernie's voters. I am not saying it has worked that well, but that is the game and Biden's team played. Bernie's strategy was to play the game (running for President is a game) but he refused to make moves once he was in. He couldn't or wouldn't adapt his strategy or shift focus even a fraction to try and attract more and more different people. TL;DR - The DNC didn't want Bernie as president, correct. But Bernie's campaign is a failure that he himself has to own. This falls on him almost entirely. -

Saying they would rather have Trump than Sanders just sounded like Sean level conspiracy stuff and not like “unrelated to Sanders”. But that’s just how I read it, so probably my bad. DNC is obv corrupt, and I agree with you Re:Wisconsin but the primary has been effectively over for weeks. Sanders was too unmoving to be a real threat. DNC being shitters during COVID is Unrelated , I agree. -

Bernie was a shit ass candidate. Need more of a unifier. https://babylonbee.com/news/bernie-tests-negative-for-president -
Even thought the GOP stranglehold on the Senate still gave them leverage... they basically retreated with their tails between their legs and just took their scraps (like oversight of treasury funds, extra funding for the arts, etc). Instead of disrupting the status quo they chose to play along. In other news... Nationwide poll saw Trump gain 5 points on Joe Biden. Biden still leads by 2% but that's well within the margin of error. Unless he does something really colossally fail, I would set the O/U on Trump winning by 10 points.

Clueless corrupt sack of garbage of the day. He's losing re-election in the most recent poll to his opponent by 4 points, hopefully that number increased. -

4 GOP senators objecting to $600/week extra in unemployment benefits... Bernie sanders says he will hold up the bill until it becomes less anti-worker... sigh. -

There is a deal for a $2 T corona stimulus package. Not many details yet, but it is by and large done -

So far, like 60% of people approve of Trump's handling of Corona. And 40% of Democrats which is much higher than I would have ever guessed. Will be interesting how those numbers change if he tells everyone to go back to work. Also, here in Iowa, our Governor just said that she will make decisions independent of Trump and doesn't really give a fuck what he says (and she's GOP). So... yeah, could be interesting start to April. -

She's a moron, but she has a point with this one... -
I hate politicians. Democrats have counter proposal that has it's ups and downs... Increases amounts to individuals and families, which is great. But they also threw in there stuff about companies who take government money be forced to raise minimum wage to 15$, tells the airlines they need to cut carbon emissions, and they want to cancel a bunch of Trump EOs... No matter how great these things are individually, sticking them in this bill makes it seem like it won't get far. Republicans are asshats, Democrats are asshats... Why do we need to throw in all this corporate favoritism and grandstanding political cornerstones ... just makes it that much harder to get this thing passed in a timely fashion. And why do all these bills (not just this one) have to have 5 million different things in it. Why can't we just focus on one thing at a time and get it done.

Bernie ignored her campaign practically the entire time and she was arguably his most ardent support no matter what or who threw trash at him. I am not saying endorse her or go campaign for her, obviously he has his own ship to run, but he is quite simply an ungrateful prick who seems more than a little entitled. He has some good ideas, but he isn't worthy of the support he has. -

Only thing I’m worried about now is that the means testing is too restrictive. We shall see how it plays out in Congress though -

The White House is pushing their own bill because Congress is a bunch of shit stains. The Bill Only allocating 500 billion for individuals and added means testing for Pelosi and Co. but it's a start. -

Nancy Pelosi is refusing to discuss UBI without some form of means-testing. Fuck Democrats. EDIT: And to be clear.. if we were talking a permanent UBI I would be more open to a means testing. I don't really like it, but if it got the job done and both sides to the table with a VERY HIGH ceiling... I could deal with it. But in this emergency situation where the White House has already said we just need to get money into peoples hands as fast as possible... and the fact they want it done within 2 weeks. Now we have Pelosi slowing shit down both in legislature and slowing down those checks after legislation is passed for people to be approved for it? Such bullshit. Party for the working class my dirty asshole (sorry, TP is in very short supply here). -

Mnuchin announced that he / the White House want to get cash into peoples hands who have been impacted by work closures as fast as possible -- within 2 weeks is the idea. No specifics yet, details come after. It wouldn't be universal because they say it probably won't be going to people who make a million dollars... But this is a guaranteed basic income. Mnuchin has instruction from the President to go to the Senate Republicans today to expediate these plans. Who knows what will end actually happening or passing... But Trump has come out pushing a guaranteed income (temporarily) before Bernie fucking Sanders. -
