Tulsi Gabbard introduces legislation that would fund a temporary UBI for every American ($1k a month) to combat coronavirus. Meanwhile the Fed has authorized 1.5 trillion dollars to artificially prop up money markets and banks. This money could fund UBI for every American for the next 6 months. But ya know, fuck actually helping people. -

I agree. Have any thoughts about Biden's running mate? I was thinking probably somebody more in Bernie's realm. Need a VP that can attract the progressives and young people. Warren? Bernie has been destroying Biden's record since Super Tuesday. It's all he talks about. He won't go after the dementia or creeper stuff though, you are right. That's his friend, Joe Biden, which he likes to remind us a lot. lol -

The exit polls say he (Biden) has a better chance against Trump. And while I agree that Trump has an edge, I am thinking that that is shrinking more and more. These states... turnout is pretty damn good. I don't know if it will be enough or if it will even carry over to the general... but it is encouraging to see actual numbers up, because that's where the Dems need to be -- especially in places like Virginia, Michigan, Minnesota, etc etc. Biden is winning those areas over Bernie by HUGE numbers. There is zero doubt left in my mind that Biden is the better candidate to take on Trump (relative to Bernie). Bernie is too hostile to people who think differently than him, and that is very off putting to me. Even during his press conference today... He refused to pivot his campaign, he refused to extend an invitation to moderates or even Republicans that hate Trump... He spent the whole time pandering to his base even more, just like he always does. He talked about how dominantly old people like Biden... Which is true. But Bernie needs those people too... lol. The youth and latino vote alone is not winning him this election. If there was ever a time to start bringing people together and extending your hand to those who may disagree with you on a few things... Last night / tonight was it. Bernie failed. AGAIN. He is consistently failing but refuses to change anything. I am really beginning to wish Bernie never ran at all. Another thing I am more convinced of than ever is that Bernie was never going to get anything done if he did get into the White House, as Stevo and I were discussing a few pages back. He would've never made any ground on anything. Guess who did extend a hand? Biden... He thanked Bernie in his speech. He said he wants those voters and how valuable they are come the fall. That's a leader. That's a president. Bernie is incapable of adapting and because of it he is going to lose the nomination to a guy who can't remember his own name. That's sad. Depending on how Bernie bows out of this thing and if he helps bridge the gap between progressives and moderates... he could do some serious damage (or serious good) to the party or to the progressive cause in general. I still think he can make some noise at the debate, but I am not convinced he will do anything new or different from what he has already done or said. -

I agree that Biden will get beat. He just had a great speech though. His team should tell him to carry a teleprompter everywhere he goes and never say anything on his own. A starkly different message than Bernie, who is declining to speak to night.... That’s so insane. There’s millions of people voting for Bernie tonight and he won’t even go out and talk. He is mentally done it seems like. -

Exit polls are showing voters are more confident in Biden (idk why but that’s what it is). Keeping polls open (which I agree with) would just make his campaign look even worse. He’s getting pounded by like 100k votes. Lol -

Only half the vote is in but Bernie is getting slaughtered in Michigan. Beginning to think this Bernie coalition is a bit misleading. Looking like a big chunk of his support in 2016 was just anti-Hillary. -

Tulsi needs to drop out so we can support this guy... Kappa “ We can only re-elect Donald Trump “ -

Point taken, but I don't think Tulsi is really thwarting that effort at all. Biden's campaign said they just raised $22M in less than a week which is almost what he totaled last quarter... Bernie is divisive and isn't unifying anybody anyway so... lol -

I don't really disagree this far in... But, does it even really matter? She's at less than a percent, isn't she? She doesn't really take up any air time. I was just googling her official Super Tuesday results, and there are a number of websites that don't even mention her. As long as she isn't misleading her donors, I don't see a huge problem with her going around the country listening to concerns of Americans. I was really surprised Warren ended her campaign... I was never going to vote for her, but she had a very strong (IMO) message and she seems genuinely passionate. I wouldn't have held it against her at all if she kept going, even though the nomination after ST was impossible or near impossible. And to be honest, I really hate the idea of the establishment contacting these campaigns and telling them to leave the race. I get the idea behind it... but even when Yang dropped out, it really unsettled me that he said outside people were telling him his campaign was doing no good and that he was best served shutting it down. No, he wasn't going to win the nomination, but his campaign was about more than that to a lot of people. It's this practical blackmail and forced consolidation that has given us a creeper dementia-ridden Joe Biden as the party leader who is going to be factually obliterated by Bernie in the debates and then ridiculed and humiliated by Trump in the general. That isn't winning or good for the country. -

Elizabeth Warren has suspended her campaign. She will not endorse either candidate (until a nominee is chosen I assume) -

I was reading about some of that and how some people were waiting in like 7 hour lines... pretty ridiculous. Needs to be changed / fixed. Added stations, added polling areas, working machines, etc. I don’t know if we can say that substantially hurt Bernie though. A lot of the areas being F’d over were neighborhoods of color. Bernie has been doing well with Latinos so there’s probably some there, but lots of black neighborhoods as well which are overwhelmingly Biden. Again, obviously an issue that needs to be fixed. Don’t think that means there’s a Bernie conspiracy -

Dude.. Bernie had another pretty shit press conference (just my opinion). He sounded pretty defeated again and just blamed people and the media for his beat down last night. Not saying he is wrong, or that I blame him for feeling like crap... But perhaps it's time to deliver his message in a new way? All he is doing is pandering to the people who already like him. He needs to asses where he stands and how he actually begins growing his base. Regardless of the delegates awarded, the fact is he got 31% of the vote Tuesday, Biden was at almost 40%. A million more people voted for Biden than Bernie... I am not saying that he needs to change his message, but just the way he delivers it. I don't know how Bernie goes into the next debate and says, " I am the best suited to beat Trump ". if he can't even rally to beat Sleepy Joe. -

Wow that happened fast. It’s premature but I would almost say it’s over. His staff, his money, his reach.... it’s pretty ridiculous. Maybe Bernie can make up some ground in the debates though. Joe’s last two teleprompter speeches weren’t bad at all. But when he looks like a moron during most of the debates. Might be Bernie’s only chance. -

Ya, even though Bernie dominated most of California he lost a lot of ground like.... everywhere else. A big problem now too is.... the Dems aren’t going to need a ton of help carrying California in November. Bernie needs to bring more to the table. The people that are excited about him are very excited about him, which is why you see his big dono numbers. But it doesn’t look like his movement spread or grew that much since 2016. States that he dominated Hillary in in 2016 are going heavy Biden. Biden is winning states without having paid for a single ad or making a single campaign stop there. And Bernie’s people were hyping up that they were getting California and Texas... and then he lost Texas. That’s also pretty huge. It’s obvious that Bernie has the enthusiasm of younger voters, but traditionally it’s older people that are voting in much larger numbers— so that only goes so far. This might all come back down to the Midwest. Bernie was owning Joe early in the heavy working class / white states loke Iowa and NH. Seems like a lot of them liked Pete, and now that he’s gone where will those voters turn.... if Minnesota is any indication, it isn’t to Bernie. Obviously Klobuchar’s endorsement helped a lot there as well. But it will be interesting to see if the rest of the Midwest follows suit or breaks rank. -

I think the biggest problem Bernie is facing now is probably Bloomberg. Bloomberg is doing OK ish in a couple states... and he has said multiple times that if it doesn't work out for him he will, on a dime, swap all of his staff to the nominee. Politically.... Bernie couldn't actually accept Bloomberg's help could he? I mean... he could, but I don't know how that would go over. Biden will take him on in a second... and all of a sudden Biden's campaign is flooded with staff that he doesn't really have right now. If Bloomberg drops out even relatively soon, he may not wait for the nominee (because Bernie doesn't want his help) and push all in for Joe.... Idk how the super delegates look right now, but it could be rough for the Bern. -

It doesn’t seem t be as big of a deal as the media is making it out to be. Those who need to be weary are the elderly and anyone else who may already be sick or have a compromised immune system. Even though the number of cases is increasing the mortality rate keeps dropping ( last I checked it was just under 1.5%) . More people die from influenza... more veterans commit suicide every day. Not saying there shouldn’t be a response, because I like seeing the mobilization And the fact that we are prepared. But I also think half the deaths here in the US have been at one senior care center in Washington. -

I don’t know what you want me to say. But I wouldn’t be surprised. They literally rigged their nominating process for Hillary. That was outrageous. I’d say the same if it happened again. Also, isn’t it crazy that the non-racist political party has narrowed their field to three rich old straight white men? Kappa. Oh how the tables have turned. Lol -

I would assume most of these moderates are going directly to Biden. Warren is probably gonna be told to stay in and fracture Bernie’s base. I mean maybe Bernie can suck enough people away? Idk tho... he still would have had a commanding delegate lead with all the moderates in the race, thus this seams to be a no risk decision. Just weird that all these moderates decide to drop out together . And news is that Pete and Amy will both be announcing their endorsements tonight at a Biden rally. Seems too perfect to be a coincidence. We will see how the voters react and align tomorrow though. -

Klobuchar dropping out. Announces she will endorse Biden. All these moderates dropping out before ST can’t be a coincidence. The fix is in and Bernie is the target.
