I have long said that I will put Ben against any QB in the league, and people always think I am trying to troll. I will say if you gave Ben the amount of pass orientation in the offense as Tom Brady and did not have to run for his life he could put up all the gaudy statistics if he had the o line and the pittsburgh mentality towards the run game. all that may change this year now, I think we may see if that is true or not.

I am sure it has been mentioned on here before and all, but a discussion at the bar between football fans from almost every team was brewing. The Rivalry came up about Eagles/ Redskins came about and said they had the best Rivalry in football. The Steelers who seem to be represented in about every bar you ever walk into had fans saying that in the last ten years if one or both teams have been crap how is it a good game and the argument ensued. I said it was Ravens/steelers and it was not close. Another said Patriots/Colts. I guess it what you want if you want a shootout then you are probably of the Patriots/Colts variety. I am of the hard nosed football school of though and the Ravens/Steelers game gives you every thing you would want in that game, and until Hines Ward hung them up people TRULY hated people from the other squad. And both teams are making attempts to get younger so new Rivalries can be bred. I have to admit I admire the Steelers for their leadership ( I think the Rooneys are far and away the Royal family in football and should be). I like the way they play he game and I like a lot of their players when they are not playing us. Now when we play I can muster a few compliments depending on the volume of steeler fans in the room and how big of idiots they are. That whole week I cant stand them but I would rather not play anybody else because they are the best games of the year in my opinion. So who do you think it is ?

I think a lot of people are forgetting one thing. We dont need to have upshaw replicate Suggs. We need him to up it from JJ which should not be hard considering JJ was a great edge setter bu terrible pass rusher. So if he can improve on the production from that side and Kriger ends up getting about 4 or 5 less than suggs would have (which I think may be close but Kruger is a talented pass rusher) Than we are going to have about equal the pass rush UNTIL Suggs gets back and then it is game on. As to the division I think we are all pretty close but the Ravens being third....I think not. The ravens have a few players last year that could become household names with a proper off season with vets and another year under the system as well as hitting the weights. If Pernell McPhee, Jimmy Smith, and Torrey smith step up along with some better O line play we are better than last year for sure. And people want to knock this draft but this is one of those drafts I call an insurance policy draft. We got a G for the future, a C for the Future a RB in case RR walks so we did not do anything sexy but we did protect ourselves from a devastating setback in the future. and we fixed ST which was a huge need. I think it will go 1A Ravens 1B Steelers 2 Bengals 3 Browns. I think Ravens and Steelers split leaving it upon division which I think will also come to even but will depend on conference record and I can see games on both schedules that both teams lose so it is too hard ot put one over the other.

I have seen it in the shoutbox and seen everywhere that people think the kid is garbage. Why? his second season was injury riddled so the only complete season we have to evaluate him on is his first. I did not think he was that bad when you consider that his #1 WR was Mark Clayton. The game is going to be fast for him and he wont be able to work through his progressions as a pro yet. So he will run and he is talented at it. Mobile QBs give you so much of a boost when they are mobile in terms of total yardage. even if you have an 80 yard running day out of your RB and your QB picks up 40 you still have a good day on the ground. Now if we are going RB, I am going to say. Ravens Texans Eagles the first two could swap depending on how well we get out LG spot figured out. The jags will be up there again because they will just feed MJD but I dont know if he can sustain that 350+ carry workload and still be as explosive and Shady really need no introduction either.

Lardarius Webb could very well be a top 5 corner and definitely top 10, so that is a pretty good start. And also considering his hands I like him as well because he deflects it well but his ability to pick you off is as good as anybody's in the league and he has the speed to take it to the house. Jimmy Smith. If he lives up to his potential than the sky is the limit, looking at him on tape there were only a handful of receivers that were bigger than he was. He is also fast for anybody but especially his size and watching him at some of the camps open to the fans he is considerably leaner. He has been working the hell out of his one handed punch and he is going to be a nightmare in press coverage. I see guy like C MAC and Aso when I look at him, now if it ever comes to fruition we will see. Bernard Pollard. Everybody was down on him when we got him from the Texans and all he did was make play and outplay Dawan Landry. Schematically he is perfect for the Ravens. He is not Troy Polamalu because there is only one of him, but Pollard plays the same Role almost put him and the box and only put him in coverage when necessary. He is our perfect safety compliment.
