  1. That's my entire point though.

Not saying you are wrong, just that we don't know what happened.

I lean towards it being Zimmerman's fault myself, just my instincts have kicked in with the entirety of the media crowing for his conviction and the Black Panthers putting a bounty out on him before the trial even starts.

Let the jury do their job, if they find him guilty, then by all means convict him.

    No. Just no.

Or at least not to a "convictable" degree.

He felt like he had to be a neighborhood Batman? He was part of the Neighborhood Watch.

He wasn't being judge, jury, and executioner, I'm merely saying that due to the fact that the cops already let one person in their neighborhood get beat up, by one of their own, and did nothing about it until Zimmerman brought pressure on them to do so, he may have felt that this was another case where that might happen.

So he could be merely suspicious that this is another time where the cops are just blowing him off, and he thinks this guy is doing something, so he gets out to investigate, or maybe he thinks he sees Trayvon trying to break into someone's house, in which case, you would expect him to simply drive away, knowing the guy is sitting there breaking into someone's house?

We have no clue what happened, that is the whole point, you are making all sorts of leaps based on knowledge we simply don't have. You do not know what took place. Do not call for someone to be made an example of when you don't know whether or not he's even guilty.

those three bolded parts. He thought which was dumb of him to begin with. Second he is neighborhood watch like you said, what is their motto OBSERVE and REPORT!!!!!

The dick head should have stayed in his car period. That is a fact. maybe the only one undeniable in this case.

And I have that fact yes he should be made an example of. If this stands this will not be the last we hear of it, believe that.

And I fI am him I pray for jail because on the outside their are plenty of people who would be upset he is free with a certain moral flexibility that would not have a second thought of giving him a taste os his own brand of vigilante justice.

At least in jail they can isolate you.

  2. This century has seen twelve NFL seasons. The best defense by a team from 2000-2012 is what we are debating.

The 2000 Ravens played a cake schedule. Their defense was great, but the statistics explained in the following article show that their defense was aided by being at the tail end of an offensive slump coming out of the 90's and the fact that they played only 5 top half offenses in points, 6 top half in yards, and only 2 top 10 in points or yards with none of those being in the top 5 in either category.

    http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2009/3/10/775679/a-statistical-analysis-on

Read that article, in its entirety, and tell me the 2000 Ravens were the best single season defense of all time.

Ok I read it in its entirety two things come into play.

At the very end he says IMO two sentences before eliminating the Ravens. Bias much...yeah I think so.

And two 33 points less than the 85 bears which is the next closest in temrs of points. WE are the top run defense, 3rd in turnovers, and top 4 in every statisitcal category if not more.

I appreciate the work he put into it but it was biased and nothing real evident considering he made up his own conclusions to support his argument. It was an interesting read though.

As to your question yes I think they are still the greatest. And we all know you like statistics and they say that too.

  4. Echoing the sentiments of previous posts I am not sure what the deal is with all of these players from the past trying to get in on some color commentary of the game and its players today.

Namath is by far the most annoying for a guy that was nothing super special ON the field he sure has a lot to say about his former franchise. If it was not for the guarantee of the Superbowl against a favored opponent he would just be another QB in the annals of NFL history.

As to Jim Brown I can almost see his point about extraordinary by single traits. I mean he will not be the most powerful back. He is not the fastest. He wont be the greatest receiver, He wont be the best blocker. Now all that being said what makes him special is his combination of all those, he blends top tier skills in all of those areas while not being the best at all of them he is the great at all of them.

  5. Single season or historically.

Single season good luck with any team beating the 2000 Ravens. over a century has to be the steelers for the 70's and the last decade. In the last decade every major category is split. thanks to reed turnovers are the Ravens, Passing yards steelers, and so on and so on.

The Texans were pretty shitty for a long time but now it has been turned around.

  6. While I disagree that he is the better TE per se... I do agree that he is the better receiving threat, and i'd be much more comfortable in a 2 minute drill with Graham then I would Gronk.

That is what I was saying. I even said Gronk was the better blocker. I dont intend on doing much Max Protect in a two minute drill so as to the purpose of the question Graham. And I still maintain he is the better tight end.

  7. The Ravens were an overrated team last year.

Weak schedule. They mostly played to the level of their opponents, but I definitely don't see them matching a 12-4 record when they're a year older and players like Lewis and Reed don't have a lot of time left.

They've lost Grubbs, Johnson, and Suggs will likely be out for the year (I'll sigbet anyone that he doesn't come back by November like he claims). Their defense gets little to no pressure outside of Suggs, so who is going to step up and make their secondary look as good as it usually does? Upshaw? Kindle? Lol.

Moreover, they have to try and sign Flacco and Rice long-term and just wasted $3.5 million in cap space on Jacoby fucking Jones, lmao. People talked shit on the Steelers for freeing up cap space with restructures to keep people like Wallace, but the Ravens restructured Yanda in order to burn cap space on a return man they didn't need.

This year they get to play the first place schedule, the NFC East, and the AFC West. After their offseason, I see 9-7 as a distinct reality with 10 wins being the most they can glean out of that schedule.

That is two players. We were the 4th youngest defense in the league last year so I think another year will benefit us. now that JJ left and we replace him with Upshaw we are even younger. Ray and Ed is true but really outside of suggs those are the only dudes over 27 or 28.

Jones I will give you not sure what the fuck that was.

WE have actually gotten better through the draft. I think a lot of people sleep on bernard pierce.

We will get more than 9 wins. As to suggs I am not sure before november but he will be there down the stretch I am thinking midseason because it was only a partial tear and his doctors even say november is a very realistic timetable.

If we can get through the AFCN I am not afraid of the NFC east to be honest.

  8. You're wrong on so many counts that I almost think you're just trying to troll.

Say what you will, but Gronk is the significantly better TE. Zack pretty much covered it to a tee.

WEll I guess that is one point of view but there is no tight end significantly better than Jimmy Graham. Take off the homer shades man. The dude is just as unstoppable as Gronk if not more so.

  9. Tough Question honestly. From a standpoint of how the fuck do you stop him ? I am going to say Megatron or A rod. Both of those guys are just ridiculous and everything that football has told you on whether you win or not these guys pay no attention to and you still lose.

From a standpoint of who I would not want to meet in a dark alley it is a tie between a few. Haloti Ngata, Ray Lewis, James Harrison, and Vince Wilfork.

From a looks stanpoint it has to be the McQuistan guy for the Raiders the dude is hideous.

  10. Your argument makes no sense and you left off Aaron Hernandez. Having more people to compete with inside of your own offense would definitely mean more if Graham saw less targets, but the inverse is seen here. Graham gets more targets and has more people in his offense to draw defenders off and free up the field for himself and ultra-accurate Brees. Gronkowski only has two other people to compete with and sees less targets, but better stats.

Jimmy Graham was targeted 146 times and caught 99 balls (67.8%). Gronkowski was targeted only 121 times with 90 catches (74.4%). Not only does Gronkowski catch a larger percentage of the passes thrown to him, but he was also targeted 25 fewer times. Furthermore, Gronkowski had 641 YAC with a 7.1 Average YAC and 13 broken tackles. Graham came in at 458, 4.6, and 11 respectively. Also, you can't just shrug off 7 more TDs for Gronkowski in 25 fewer passes.

I'd even go so far as to say that, if Hernandez and Graham were switched, Hernandez would be the better option. Hernandez caught 79 passes on 108 targets (73.1%) and had 910 yards, 7 TDs, 503 YAC, 6.4 Average YAC, and 23 broken tackles. Hernandez catch more of the passes thrown at him and he does astronomically more with the ball when he catches it than Graham.

I think you and I are looking at it differently. To be in that offense ( the Saints) and have that be the disparity considering the more targets available in the offense. Especially looking at the patriots in that context being that Gronk was two outstanding targets and Hernandez is decent. So for Gronk to have caught 25 fewer balls when he was in an offense that would have been more conducive to an insane amount of catches. (looking at welker leading the league in receptions over three years when he is not top 5 talent wise) That means Gronk should have had more catches due to the lack of a target rich environment. It is like being the best out of 5th graders and being the best out of college (not saying that as a true example but more of an illustration of a point.)

You just looked at it on the opposite.

And stats are great when talking averages and things of that nature but if we were to just use those then we would not have LT, Emmit Smith, and many other RB's in conversation as greats. You can do that with just about any position.

Also the targets are probably indicative on the amount of times that they were open as well considering both of their QB's are known for making smart decisions and spreading the ball around.

  11. He had one outstanding season on the Saints, one of the best offensive teams of the past few years. Gronkowski had 7 more TDs and 17 more yards with 9 less catches on another offensive powerhouse.

Lets look at hte reasons here.

    Targets

    Saints: Colston, moore, Meachem, Graham

    Running Game: Pick a back

    Pats: Welker, Gronk

    Running game: That is funny.

  12. :yep:

Graham's a solid TE, but Brees makes him look a lot better than he actually is, IMO. I know people have made a similar argument for Gronk having Brady, but Gronk is an absolute freak of nature. His size, agility, hands, and blocking is just incredible. Dude would still look like a beast even if he was catching passes from a mediocre QB. Pats were pretty damn lucky to snag him in the 2nd round. If he didn't sit out with a back injury in his senior year at Arizona, he probably would have been drafted in the top 20.

And Graham could do the same things with a mediocre QB lets be honest here. Graham is faster, has longer Arms, has better leaping ability, and better body control. Hands are a wash, but Gronk is the better blocker but not by much.

Also lets not forget who was the FIRST TE to break the record. If the Saints threw it to only Graham like the pats did to Gronk he would have the record not the other way around. The saints had about 4 legit targets and a running game the pats have two targets and that is it.

Gronk is a good TE but he is not Jimmy Graham and being real if Jimmy Graham was on the patriots people would have started a religion about his ass because he is with BB and Brady.

  13. flacco is an over glorified game manager.

Over glorified huh? So is that why the media takes every chance they can to bash his ass and blow every story about him out of proportion. IE Jamie Dukes, Dave Dameshek, Tony Dungy, and many others.

As to the game manager he makes a lot of plays for a game manager.

Not saying he is elite their are only four or five of those guys from last year, but top 10 or just outside is fair for him.
