  1. I love my Ravens but we need to start to PUBLICLY saying he is on the market. Maybe he will see how shitty it is when there is no loyalty there. And if not we can get a second for sure maybe a first for him. Either way I hope this is the last year he is a Raven this whiny ass dude needs to take his shit on the road. It has been every year for four years he has kept at least the fans wondering if he will be back or not. Way to give a shit Ed.

    Later dick head.

  2. I wasn't aware there was even something called shock probation... lol

Good for Jolly though. I really pray that he doesn't make the same poor decisions that have derailed his career and more importantly, his life.

    Best of luck to him.

Only people with money can get it lol

  3. Mason was really good for the Ravens for a few years. Certainly better than Ismail and Smith.

he was but he also had twice the QB Ismail ever had. That guy had the worst QB to ever win a SB and Kyle fucking Boller. That said two speed guys on the outside and boldin in the slot.

As for Torrey Smith 841n yards receiving with 7 touchdowns is comparable to any season mason put up. I think the most was 1087 and 5 touchdowns I could be wrong on the touchdowns it may have been 7 to but I think it was 5.

I would rather have two speed guys and put boldin in the slot where he is a monster. Mason was just a slower Boldin.

  4. QB: Joe Flacco

HB: Jamal Lewis (thought Ray Rice but a 2000 yard bruiser is hard to beat)

FB: Vonta Leach (This was hard because you could go Lorenzo Neal or Ovie Mughelli)

    WR: Anquan Boldin

WR: Torrey Smith( Yes our WR's have been that bad I would take him over most any other )

    WR: Quadry Ismail

    TE: Todd Heap

    LT: Jon Ogden

    LG: Benn Grubbs

    C: Matt Birk

    RG: Marshal Yanda

    RT: Orlando Brown

Defense (Going 4-3 and taking advantage of a young Ray)

    DE: Micheal McCrary

    NT: Haloti Ngata

    NT: Sam Adams

    DE: Adalius Thomas

    OLB: Peter Boulware

    MLB: Ray Lewis

    OLB: Terrel Suggs

    CB: Chris McCalister

    CB: Ladarius Webb

    FS: Rod Woodson

    SS: Ed Reed

  5. I think that tape and preparation are about the most overrated tools to use in a debate with QB's. I mean you could study Brady for days and you are still going to get 300 passing yards put up on you unless you have an elite defense.

With QB's it is also pointless because there are not a lot of variables he will either throw or run. And considering even Newton threw more than he ran it is not like it is all that big of a mystery I would say down and distance are more of an indicator of how a play will turn out than the QB.

Just for instance it is 3rd and 6, the Pats have the ball. How are they going to convert. A Pass. Brady drops back and throws the pass, game film on him over. What happens after that is what you have to stop.

Not sayin Newton is Brady or anything merely that tape is so over hyped on internet forums as if it is the end all be all of how you prepare for QB's that it is getting ridiculous. That is one of the main reasons that the tape they use in the leagues is the "all-22" tape because it is more about where the receivers are in down and distance and what they do and how to successfully defend those conversations than the guys who get them the ball.

  6. Known or unknown risks the day you give your word to fulfill and obligation then you do it risks be damned. If you didnt see the risks then well then life happens, drink water and drive on. Maybe it is just these high priced athletes dont give a damn about their word anymore they just play for the money, but that is their honor and integrity and a whole other argument I could really care less.

  7. No one is going to compare the sacrifices a soldier makes to someone who plays in the NFL. Just because there are more dangerous jobs out there doesn't mean we should discount the risks NFL players go through. Especially since one of the largest risks is now just coming to light. No one knew about CTE a decade ago. No one knew it was even a large risk. Again, football players accept the risks that they know about. When you have this thing pop into the conversation, we shouldnt immediately squash it because there are coal miners that also have job risks. That's a ridiculous stance to take.

I see articles all time time where soldiers had no idea how military services was going to affect them and they come back to the states after a tour with PTSD or major depression. You look at those that were in Vietnam who had special chemical agents affect their brains and to which they were totally unaware of the risk. Are these guys also 'crying ass soldier talk about the risks of his job'? I'm old enough to have had friends come back from Iraq and are severely depressed over what happened to them in the desert. They are sitting on a government pension for the rest of their lives and never need to work. How many NFL players of old can say the same?

I'm not going to get into comparing the two, I just how you see how completely different the two are and exactly how much these NFL players are risking to entertain us.

You asked me my age and talked to me as if I knew nothing about dangerous jobs.

I gave you my perspective and why I cant stand this complaining crap. You know you are going to hit playing football just like you know you are going to war as a soldier. If you dont like the smell of trash get out of the garbage heap

That is my perspective and I am not changing it as you are not yours and I am wasting no more time wasting both of our times.

  8. I got to wonder how old you are. You may just not have the experience in life to see how these things work. You dont think Coal Miners, Firefighters, Cops demand safety controls for their profession?

Please take a moment and think about what you're posting. Yes, football players make a personal choice to step on the field and they are accepting the risk of injury. But only recently is it is now becoming apparent how big of a deal these concussions issues are. Especially at risk are those players from several decades ago that played through concussions or suffered several concussions in a single game. Those men are retired and certainly didnt bring in the kind of cash today's players make. I would have have argued that money should not even be a factor when taking into account player safety.

All hazardous jobs fight for additional safety controls and that doesn't make them crying ass whatever.

Average career length is 6 years. Take into account taxes, agent representation and house/car/etc and what do you have left? Now think that they're about 28 on average when they retire and have to use that money for the rest of their lives. With all the new CTE evidence coming into play, are players going to think this money is worth potentially a lifetime of depression and degradation of memory? Again, we've already seen some players retire and other UDFA decide not to play football due to the risks.

You think Junior Seau and his family are OK with his death because he made millions? Was he a 'crying ass football player talk about the risks of his job'?

Well I guess since it bares on the conversation. I am 28 years old and have been in the military 11 years and a ranger for 9 of those. I recently just got back from my 4th deployment. I am not sure your standards for a hazardous job but I guess you could die doing it or end up without legs or have to have to clean your buddies up with a sponge because that is all that is left, or you know you may get paralyzed and never play with your kid again for instance like a very close friend of mine. Even considering that I put my pants on everyday and thank god I get to do something that I love and I will never get rich doing it. Also while I am doing that I also happen to know that I am doing it of my own free will and signed a contract with the US government to do it all over again. Is that enough information for you ? If not I could go into the details of the 81 jumps that I have accrued have taken on my knees, or the trekking through the swamps of fort Polk Louisiana fighting dysentery and jungle rot. What is it that makes football so dangerous again ? Forgive me if I dont want to here anybody elses sorry ass excuse for what a dangerous job they have and how they should be compensated more when soldiers like my buddy who still gets up every morning at 6:00 AM to go to physical therapy and whines less than these prima donna's. When I start seeing a little more of that then I would love to have a conversation with you about how right these players are.

Getting shot, blown up, losing life, limb, eye sight, friends >>>>>>> than CTE sorry.

Average career span huh. Average LIFE expectancy for a soldier in Iraw during initial invasion was about 2 tours 4 if you were really luck. Average salary 45,000 with taxes and all that other happy horseshit.

As to Seau I cant really speak for a man who committed suicide. I guess at the time it seemed like a good idea. After seeing the heart ache he put his mother through I am going to assume she was less than pleased with his decision making. And nope I cant say he cried to the media, I will say that for him.

Again not trying to pick a fight but I see America's soldier go to war under contract with no negotiating at the table in regards to salary. And I see a lot less whining about it. So please forgive me if I dont see the justification for all this complaining about playing a game that they get paid millions for.

  9. I marked no because I put a time limit on it in my mind.Given enough time it is possible and anything in the league can happen. However for the next 30 or 40 years I am not seeing it.

First of all you are going to have a guy who is not going to be double and triple covered ala megatron. You can either do that by a great rushing game or an equally talented guy on the opposite side of the ball. In either case that still does you no good because any OC worth his salt cares more about putting up 50 points a game with that talent instead of just setting a record. He is going to want to achieve balance especially with a talented running back so that will take away some of the targets. The equally to little less talented receiver will still command some attention, and I honestly dont see with that kind of talent how you cant make any slot receiver a legitimate receiving option either.

Second This is becoming a passing league this part is true. However for a long time CB's were just not the athletes that WR's were churning out left and right. That is starting to change every draft. Looking at last year you had PP, Amukamara, Jimmy Smith, and so on. All guys who are 6'0" running 4.4's and faster. This year I think the class was supremely over hyped but that being said there was some good talent out there. We are seeing corners with the athleticism of corners that were traditionally smaller.

Third if Rice and Montana/Young cant get it done when you have arguably the greatest receiver and the greatest QB to ever play the game you are going to be hard pressed to get it done. Throw in there they had a great defense that was opportunistic as well. I am just not sure if there was more of a perfect situation to get it done and they were a pass first offense.

  10. Insightful.

Here is the problem. you asked an opinion question. You got one. You didnt like it which is fine. There really is no more need for insight. I think they make a personal choice everyday they step on the field. If you want to play the game than shut up and play it. If you dont want to take the risk than take your ball and go home. Either way I dont want to hear some crying ass football player talk about the risks of his job.

EDIT: and for the record the league minimum this year will be 390,000 and then 15000 more every year after that until 2015. If you cant become a millionaire getting paid that kind fo cash than that is your fault for being an idiot.

  11. Really football is a contact sport ? Who knew ? I was unaware there was contact in this sport. Get the fuck out of here, you get payed to play millions. You want to complain, go complain to the coal miners, complain to dock workers, or iron workers, or soldiers, or any manual labor job.

If these cats did not have millions nobody would give a shit, I dont see anybody bitching about the conditions for these guys.

You play football shut the fuck up and deal with it. Hell no I would not stop playing. I could get messed up doing anything after I retire and I would rather do it with 90 million in the bank.

This is ridiculous so what, you have a concussion put on your man shorts and get the hell over it. A lot people end up with several concussions are normal people and for some reason I think the coal worker who cant retire until his 60's after 40 + years of back breaking work is more messed up than a guy who plays football for 10 years.

  12. I am going to go out on a limb:

OROY: Micheal Floyd: The line Situation in zona has been addressed. He has a receiver on the other side who will draw as much coverage as humanly possible and a decent running game. and who knows what Kolb will be this year (probably dog shit) that being said if he throws for 3000 yards then fits will have twelve hundred of them and Floyd will take the rest but 500 yards. Yeah Its bold.

DROY: I have to say courtney upshaw especially if Suggs makes it back in October or novemeber. If not I have to go with another out on the limb pick. Mychal Kendricks. Only because of the Ray lewis effect. Teams are going to block and run away from Keuchly and feed Kendricks who is a very quick LB and will make thos tackles.

  13. O lines are tough to piece together to make a good one. This really all hinges on mike Adams. If he is as good as people say than the line got a lot better. If he cannot then you have to go back to what you had last year minus having probably one of the top 4 or 5 guards in the NFL in 2 or 3 years. If Mike Adams cant play LT then you have two right tackles and one will still be playing out of position. Either way it is a better O line, the only question is how much if both pan out then we may not even know how good yet. If it doesnt than it will just be mildly better.

  14. God what the hell is up with all this sympathy for a guy who committed suicide and left behind children.

This man got paid to playt a game for a living and instead of investing his money like a smart man he tries to reinvent the damn wheel and loses his ass. Is it unfortunate ? Sure. Could he have invested it and lived VERY comfortable for the rest of his life ? Yep.

Sorry if I dont buy the concussion thing, but I have been hit by more IED's than I care to count and have at least 3 concussions linked to explosive trauma, and several others from whatever asinine field problem I have had to do for the military. Some have coming from jumping out of plains and then smacking your head on a rock or something on a PLF. The concussion things are bullshit there are far more accountants who have suicides and depression than athletes. So by some of you guys logic numbers are a cause of depression. That is a completely bogus and irrelevant argument. Not only have people who have played contact sports and had far more concussions that JR and are perfectly fine way more than they are not.

Ok no too people have the same life experiences, how is it soldiers who come back from Iraq and Afghanistan can have their legs blown off and are happy with prosthesis that allow them to live normal lives. So excuse the hell out of me for having no pity for a guy who had a career most would love to have, more money than any of us are likely to see, and the adoration of millions. CAnt do it. This is one big fuckin pity party for a man who took a cowards way and left his kids to fin for themselves. No pity from me. Call me an asshole if you want but this whole lets make some excuse for him shit is getting fuckin old.

  15. Yes circumstances maybe and they do very but the whole concussion thing is BS, their are literally thousands of athletes who have lived perfectly acceptable lives after sports who had more concussions than Seau.

So it goes back to what I said, when you have kids man up and fix your problems. The End. I did not condemn him, apparently he did that himself. If the man no longer feels his life is no longer worth living and by all accounts should be a big advocate for his own life, people want me to feel sorry.

No all my condolences go to his children, not the man who thought his kids were no longer worth living for.
