  1. Perhaps he wasn't left with much of a choice, perhaps his brain damage was leading him to it? After countless concussions, you can't expect your reasoning faculties to be on the same level as someone with a healthy brain does. I know his brain injuries aren't the only reason he's depressed, but they're a benefactor to the reason why he would consider suicide his only option.

Ok really are we going to use that excuse...it was the concussions. Lets look at high profile athletes who were probably more screwed up than him and have learned to cope.

Muhammad Ali, Chuck Liddel, Leon Spinks, Jake Lamotta, Ken Shamkrock, Jack Johnson, Pernell Whittaker, Randy Couture, Shane Mosley, Bernard Hopkins, Ray Mancini, Matt hughes, Deacon Jones, Jim Brown, Marion Motley, Earl Campbell, Lorenzo Neal, London Fletcher, Ray Lewis, Joe Frazier, and this list goes on and on and on. They have managed it cant be just concussed or hits because seriously all these guys took a bigger pounding.

  2. :Ravens: The hulk. Relies on pure Strength and violence at the point of attack. The defense is intimidating and wants to just destroy things. The offense is Bruce Banner mild mannered, just there to manage the beast. Ultimately when push comes to shove ineffective.

  3. Just as it's selfish for someone to take their own life, it's selfish for other people to demand that person stay alive when they are suffering. It's unfair to all parties, but that's besides the point. When their study is completed and the examine his brain, they will no doubt find the damage to his brain would easily cause him to commit suicide. I can't say I'm an expert on the brain, but it's hard to understand what exactly Junior Seau was going through. That's why I can't condemn him for going through with killing himself, when millions of other people in North America have considered doing it themselves.

Yeah damn those selfish kids who need their father. There is no way that they are selfish for wanting a father. That is ridiculous, and coming from you it shocked me. And it is in no way unfair for them to ask their father to be there. It was selfish for him to do what he did. You tihnk his kids are going to live this down anytime soon ?

I am not sure what you meant by this but the way it reads is that it is selfish for someone to ask somebody to live when they are suffering. That means his kids are selfish ? Cant see that. If you have kids you need to man up, your life isnt all about you anymore. So leaving your children without a father...Sorry but in my opinion you need to man up and fix your shit if that means being a father to your kids.

  4. Bein honest I cant spare sympathy for someone who leaves behind kids because of suicide. He was a great player and up until a few hours ago thought the world of him. I just cant believe such a devout family man would do that to his kids. This was a blow. Either way I hope he found his peace. My heart goes out to his children.

  5. Honestly who knows with the Ravens ? We do the same thing every year let aging vets go, sign two or three cheap FA's and then Ozzie always drafts how he wants and not how fans think he should. I mean three years ago when he drafted Ray Rice after Mcgahee came off a 1000 yard season I was like WTF???? Yeah that turned out horribly.....

So this year we shore up special teams in FA, and get Upshaw, and some much needed PO line help. Anywhere between A or C could apply who knows.

  6. Explain to me how Asante Samuelis threw most over rated corner. We have arguably the best defensive back group I'm the NFC now.

It must be because hes a Falcon now. The guy covers. The times he gets burned are when he takes jumps and misjudges. You know why he is seen getting burned? Because he takes chances ob big turnovers.

Yes Asante is wildly overrated. I would like to know how he is not. Receivers still have big games against him. He is terrible in press coverage. He is getting old. His makeup speed is not what it used to be so he cant afford to take as many risks as he does. Yeah the dude is overrated. When people say he is top 5 I cant help but laugh. If they said he was an average corner who is great in the zone and will let up big plays but will also make some then I would be cool with it. If he is in the top 5 though I discredit anything that person says from there on.

  7. Let me start by saying I wish Baltimores draft went like this:

    2nd Round:

    Mychal Kendricks (2nd)

    Tommy Streeter (6th)

    3rd Round:

    Shea McClellin (1st)

    Greg Childs (4th)

    4th Round:

    Micheal Brewster (UDFA)

    5th Round:

    Brandon Hardin (3rd)

    Sean Richardson (UDFA)

    Travis Lewis (7th)

    6th Round:

    Vick Ballard (5th)

    7th Round:

    Jeff Adams (UDFA)

  8. With the 29th pick in the 7th round the Baltimore Ravens Select:

    Jeff Adams

    OT

    Columbia

    QZYEPNFOZMXUSGU.20111013234136.JPG

Not bad for a 7th round pick. He is a big physical guy who is good against the pass with very good feet and can slide well on the line. He has long arms and an extremely powerful base. he is a very smart football player and is a great developmental prospect. His problem is in the run game, to say he is not adept at it would not be a fair synopsis. That being said he tends to lunge instead of keeping his feet under him. The potential is there in the run game because the times that he does keep his feet under him he is a very physical run blocker as well. Being honest he has played less than stellar competition so the tape wont hold much weight here because dominating in an Ivy league school is not hard. That being said there are enough physical tools here he could be a very good prospect with some coaching and a strength and conditioning program.

  9. The Steelers drafting Poe would be a great pick. Casey Hampton could teach him a few things for the next year or two, then when Casey retires, Poe is ready to take over.

I think Poe has got people gassed up. For a guy who did not dominate in Conference USA in college I am not high on. Being honest before the combine who knew who he was ? The majority did not and the people that did had him nowhere in the universe of the 1st round.

  10. Most 3rd rounders don't end up being worth anything. Especially Bucs' 3rd round picks, we haven't gotten a worthwhile player in the 3rd since Ronde lol.

If you are solid on Richardson being a big time player, you shouldn't worry about a 3rd round pick. It isn't a big deal. I'm tired of this team relying on 3rd and 4th round players having to step in right away and play big roles. We need some big time difference makers, and if Dom/Schiano are sold that is TR, GET HIM.

That is not true at all about mid round picks. At worst I would say 50/50 contributors. i know in the last 4 years the ravens have gotten two future pro bowlers and one all pro already from the third round. A lot of people from the 3rd are good players.

  11. I will go the opposite and say elite HC. I think Brady is a great QB, that said when he went down they went down with Matt Cassel. He has proved to be less than elite outside of BB's system.

The Steeler's still did pretty well with with Batch because their coach adjusted fire.

I think the snafu here is that there really arent many elite coaches. People have great teams and assume they are a great coach. As evidenced by Tony Dungy, people thought he was a great coach but when he left they were still contenders. I understand this points to the QB in this case, which it does. But the players made that coach. That is not an elite coach.

Guys like Bill Parcells would take guys who fit what he did and made a living turning franchises around. Chad Pennington anybody ?

I am anything but a Pats fan but BB is one of 4 elite coaches in this league in my opinion, and they could all do well without their starter.

  12. I wouldnt pay Wallace half of that Fitz contract. Hes a great deep threat and a good WR. But he wants to be paid like hes top 5 and i dont think hes a top 5 WR at all. Top 10 arguement, but thats as far as i go. Fuck it just throw it to Miller more.

I don't really think you could argue he is not a top 10 WR. He is fringe top 5 in my opinion.

As it stands if I had to pick right now it would be.

    Megatron

    Fitz

    AJ

    Nicks

Then Wallace possibly. Right here it could be argued for may candidates suck as Jennings, Marshall etc.

  13. What do you mean holds out on national TV? He didn't/doesn't have a show about his holdout. He didn't even say I WILL hold out he just said said he doesn't know.

He has never and no one has said he's the best ever. And oh no he had one bad moment...

    ...

So the Hard knocks thing where he decided he wasnt going to show up with his team, and Ryan had to check his room at night hoping he showed up. Ya know where Rex actually had to help in getting a deal done. That time he wasnt there.

So youre telling me santonio only acts a fool because of his QB. What about Big Ben ? Pretty sure he will go down as a way better QB than Santonio will receiver.

If you havent caught any instances of Sanchez complaining I dont know what to say ?

You are going to tell me your locker room is cohesive. I guess we should take your word over all of those players that are there.

What Namath has to do with this era is he cant help but be a distraction. The dude cant shut his mouth.

You want to have all these problems on your team, and then have the franchise trying to posture in the media. Not a good look.

  14. Who holds out? Quite a lot of football players hold out and what does your list that you wrote up have anything to do with your previous comment about Revis being a douche? Like Rex Ryan is the only guy to ever have a foot fetish, who gives a fuck. Also Namath is also just a guy who happened to play QB for the jets and won't keep his mouth/drunk ass off TV or out of the media.

I am saying that when you are the best player on your team, you might want to take a leadership role. It happens quite often actually. He needs to be worrying about how to get his team to play together as a unit and quit running to the media when you have an issue. he has the stage to set a great example for a divided locker room by letting this thing work itself out and settling it in house. If he becae a leader who led by example and could gel a cohesive locker room together. If he did that on top of his natural ability as the best cover corner in the league there is no way the jets let him leave and will get his HUGE pay day. If by some crazy off shoot scenario the Jets part ways with him he gets it elsewhere. Keep quiet and take your 11 million dollars this year and let the negotiating begin next year.

The other things brought up was to show what is on the shoulders of the new york Jets right now without having take a snap. he does not need to add to the drama especially when you are the face of the franchise and the teams best player.

People who just play ball and become the leaders of a team almost always get paid. Seen it time and time again with Ray Lewis. The man was 34 and makes over 7 mil a year on a contract when he is well past his prime.

  15. I always have reservations about guys who should not be where they are but do to the combine or the ants of the draft they sky rocket. Gilmore oculd but I would not draft him the top 10. If I needed a corner honestly it would be no skin off my ass if he was taken.
